    Supported Mac Quick List:
    Most Macs made in 2015+ are supported for Monterey.
    Most Macs made in 2017+ are supported for Ventura.
    Most Macs made in 2018+ supported for Sonoma AND Sequoia (but not all).
    There are exceptions so please look up the latest supported OS based on the model of your specific Mac.

    Open Core Legacy Patcher is so spectacular. I have an office with 27 2012 MacPro 5,1 models. We are all running Sequoia with OCLP and it is flawless and fast. No need to buy a new Mac and this software has saved me hundreds of thousands.

      Agree, my late 2015 iMac i7 27" is awesome with OCLP and Sequoia. I don't have a scratch on this iMac and it looks like I bought it yesterday. Ages ago I used to replace my Windows PC every 2 years.

    I am using the macOS Sequoia RC on a MacBook Pro 2016 and I noticed that macOS feels much snappier than the official last supported macOS for this MacBook Pro, macOS Monterey! So many thanks to the folks of Open Core Patcher!!!

    Thanks for a very useful video. Personally I use Parallels Desktop Pro on two Macs, a 2017 21.5” iMac with 16 Gb RAM and a 2023 14” MB Pro with M3 Pro and a basic 18 Gb RAM. With both I mainly use Parallels for som games and occasionally Windows based applications like MS Publisher, Access and Projects, plus the latest version of the animation software Cartoon Animator, because they dropped MacOS support in their latest version (v5). For me it works without any hiccups, but of course it depends on your need for speed.

    • @IshLilly
      @IshLilly 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      just one question, why don't you just dual boot windows 10 and mac os natively? the imac should be able to run windows much better that way (and cheaper unless you continue to pay for parallels anyways) though don't take me wrong maybe i just don't know the advantages of parallels as i prefer native windows.

    • @thomashartmann5037
      @thomashartmann5037 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@IshLilly You are correct, but firstly Parallels gives me the opportunity to run Windows 11 and secondly it makes it easy to switch between MacOS and Windows. And as I pointed out earlier, Windows runs smoothly enough for the things I use it for. The obvious drawback is the extra cost for the license.

    NEVER upgrade to a new MacOS as soon as it gets out (unless you want to become a beta-tester!). Wait a couple of months for the initial bugs to be fixed. I don't understand the rush to upgrade... Each new macOS is almost identical to the previous one.... so you are not missing any REALLY NEW features if you wait...

    • @tonyburzio4107
      @tonyburzio4107 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      This is a terrible idea. Microsoft allowed this nonsense, and all that happened was the software providers stopped upgrading. Then you had a bunch of varying versions of operating system for your IT group to deal with. No, keep pressing your software vendors, especially large company accounts, and force them to keep up with the OS by fixing bugs!

      On my M2 Pro Sonoma is better at some things, especially the occasional game, due to the game mode. Also it’s better at anything Gpu heavy including Stable Diffusion. But Ventura uses less Ram at resting. It’s almost always better to use what ships with the machine.

    I have a late 2009 MacBook I upgraded to 8gb ram, SSD, and Catalina using DosDude’s patch program. I use it as a BlueBubbles server primarily, sitting next to my main PC. But the laptop runs so smoothly on Catalina that I could use it as my main PC if my main decides to break. I see I can upgrade the OS higher but I’m loathe to do that as it is only a core2Duo processor.

    Great video you posted, I love watching them. I do have an old iMac Mid 2011 Model! Which I'm running High Siera and Snow Leopard on the external SD drive, works great! I got my old apps back I use for off the side work on videos and photos cleaning. I would love to update the iMac with one or more OS for this iMac, I have a 2019 model, I'm using a External SD for the Sonoma OS and still use Mojave since most of the apps will not work on Sonoma! Any way of update the Mid 2011 model? I think I can't do it. The more I watch you and the more makes sense. I would love to update it, I hate spending money on a new one and I don't like them at all.

So going back to reinstall OCLP as no that worked well for and turn off auto Apple updates.!

    On my 27-inch 4K LG display I love "Stage Manager". Like everything this is a personal preference.
    Now when it comes to Microsoft Windows. Over away from it a number of years ago. For the most part only one application that works the way I want on Windows that I can not find on the Mac is the the plain "Paint" application.
    Looks like Paintbrush may be the one I am looking for. Like the original paint program I used on my very first 1984 McIntosh which now adjusted for inflation cost way more than I pay for any new Mac I purchased today.

      Was this a regular supported macOS update or an unsupported install? If it was a macOS update, try plugging in ethernet (may have to use a USB adaptor) and see if you can run any updates on it. If it was an unsupported install, try running post-install patches again in OCLP.
