The theme of Sonic the Hedgehog 03: Part 0I's Sales Pitch comes from I992: Michael Tauben and Simon Richard Benson produced "Breakneck" for their album Entertainment 029: Raving Mad, it is such a solid track to listen to and I would highly suggest that you listen to the rest of their catalogue; if you grew up like me and had a copy of Lotus III: The Ultimate Challenge or its Megadrive counterpart (Lotus II: RECS; in my case, this is what I had), then you will fall in love with this genre, it is a shame that it's not often touched upon by many in the Mainstream today but it is still heavily remembered and one can only hope that this style becomes a constant in music again soon. This was by far the best original Sonic game! Yet honestly all the original Sonic games were great on the Genesis and Game Gear and still hold up great today as fun classics!
Noticed the blue emerald is in the waterfall at the knuckles scene and tails has no tails in the special stage, also 2 player could be different, and Sonic’s color palette after reverting from super in the cutscene looks like what happens in the 11/03 prototype
I understand in retrospect Sega's business/financial reasons for splitting S3&K in two and releasing them apart. - Speaking of Knuckles, his proto artwork isn't there anymore
- Sonic still goes to his walking animation when on those LBZ spinning lifts
- HUD still has shading like the proto
- Speaking of that, it's still loaded under the 2P menu (you can barely see it as the art doesn't get loaded into VRAM though you can see the life icon below)
- elemental shields are fully implemented with their abilities
- 1:43 - HZ background might be finalized as the leaves aren't visible here though doesn't seem to have the proper scrolling and/or deformation code set up
- Ice Cap's snowboard section isn't there yet
- Sonic's frame when holding onto the MGZ2 grabbers is finalized and not set to be in his walking animation
- Special stages seem to be 1:1 with the final build albeit no tails on Tails :p
- the Tails demo bit at the beginning of AIZ1 (where its programmed to have Tails take Sonic to the top path) is still here from the proto
- seems the bugged Sonic 2 SEGA screen is fixed here compared to the proto though shows corrupt mappings when "Sonic" zooms past the SEGA screen as the new sprites have been implemented by then
