ok this also vindicates me because i kept thinking ozones assistant button makes my tracks too bright every single time. they probably guess a reference curve thats pretty similar for everything at least in ozone 9.
You can't trust the Ozone "mastering assistant." Find the brightest professional track you can find. Run it through, and Ozone will make it brighter. Then run it through again and Ozone will make it even brighter. Do it again? Even brighter. Ozone is great, but the mastering assistant is a farce. Maybe V12 will be better...
Love the video guys! Could you make video showing the ideal level of the vocals in a final master😅 sometimes it’s too loud sometimes too low on different speakers Love you
Thanks for making this video... How do you feel about tilt EQs in mastering? (To make overall adjustment brighter or darker.) Using Pro-Q 3, I tried an extreme +18dB tilt followed by a -18dB tilt in a second instance and it didn't damage the sound. That makes me think a more moderate adjustment would be a safe way to gently shift the overall balance.
I haven't tried it yet, but it looks promising. The broad view with only four frequency bands combined with getting the target from a reference track seems like it could be useful. /Thomas
🔥 Nice Video Sir Hello Sir Can you make a tutorial how to get louder mastering without sacrifice the punchy of the sound .. in reaper?? Thanks Greet From Indonesia. 🙏
Check out our videos about DMG Limitless, you'll find some hopefully useful info about loudness and peak limiting in general there. We also have a mastering course where we go deeper into settings and strategies for this. Send us an email if you're interested in joining: info@masteringexplained.com /Thomas

Is the video you mention at minute 4:29 about "EQ matching to a reference by ear" not on your channel anymore? I can not find it.
great video. unfortunately the link to your frequency chart is not working.
Thanks for letting us know! The link should be working again now. /Thomas
Excellent explanation. You're amazing. Thank you.
Wat you think about tonal balance from ozone?
I haven't tried it yet, but it looks promising. The broad view with only four frequency bands combined with getting the target from a reference track seems like it could be useful. /Thomas
do u use a tilt eq for this sometimes?
Sure, tilt EQ can be useful for slightly nudging a master towards darker or brighter. /Thomas
