Yamaha GT80 Found in DUMPSTER !! First Start and TOP Speed RUN !!

- I considered myself the luckiest man alive when I found this Yamaha GT80 in a dumpster about to go to the dump!! I of course rescued this machine and soon found out that it was in exceptionally good shape for having been abandoned! I was able to get it running with very little effort and was even able to take it for a test rip and top speed run! Pretty sure this will be a once in a lifetime event for me and I enjoyed every minute of it!

I think some kids stole it popped it in the dumpster and you showed up before they could get transportation to take off safely with the bike. I can't see any one throwing a bike like that in the trash. 😈

I had an 82 dr500 that ran and had all original parts and I gave it away because I was sick of looking at it I recently got into restoring old bikes and kick myself for it all the time so I believe it

I had one silver,great little bikes
I got that bike new in 1975 I was 11. Lasted until I was just to big for it and sold it for $200 to an older guy for his kid. Lotta memories
Hope you know it's a 2-stroke oil reservoir now needs bleeding to the oil pump, always use oil and gas to spray, hope it is ok.?
Great little Bike that ended up going really well..you'll be putting it on the Bike trailer to take it somewhere next..

Sounds lit it has a bigger rear sprocket instead of the stock 41 tooth sprocket. That's probably why its not hitting 40mph

Seeing this makes me sick inside throwing out a gt80 in the dumpstet That should honestly be a crime knowing a Yamaha GT80 is a wonderful peice of history. As a child my uncle had the service manuals that he gave me as a child. Wish i still had them

Is there a reason for taking the bike apart to fix it before trying to start it? I’m going to buy a gt80 next week and owner says it doesn’t run, I was gonna put gas in it and try and send it, but now I’m thinking maybe I shouldn’t, and I should follow your steps?

Would you consider selling? I live in south central kentucky and had a KE100 I rode when I was younger before I knew anything about how engines work. That bike ran like crap now that I look back on it, she was in desperate need of seals everywhere

@@iconatlarge This one has brake light switches someone may have removed parts it also has a place for turn signals. I'm still gonna investigate

Those Barbie dolls only went on sale for a couple of days back in 1995 before MATTEL had to pull them off the shelves and the market all together because some FAT MOTHERS complained how MATTEL dared such reckless and offensive products (according to them) were put on sale for children.... I’m gunna have to say the same.. someone would be pretty stupid to throw a bike away that had good spark and just needed a carb clean. Plus the dumpster being conveniently full. That bike had way to much potential but hey I’ve got some crazy free machines myself so it’s not all that unbelievable. 😂
