Excellent! Ive worn a bowler hat for over 10 years and smoked a tobacco pipe. Folks think they are outdated, but I think in the jazz and blues community they still have a place. I may need to give a monocle a try. As for tobacco pipes and tobacco pipe clubs, they are popular today than folks realize. Two large internation pipe conventions happen every year, one in Chicago and one in Las Vegas. I myself am a pipe carver and a leader in my local pipe club. Classic and vintage mensware also has place among tobacco enthusiasts. Recently the Boston Pipe Club had a gathering where some of there members got to gether to lunt in vintage tweed suits. We have two men in my club that are fur trappers and come to meet ups in deerskin coats. Well, before covid at least. But if there is a revival for vintage fashion, id say its already in motion.
Hi, I just want to say that I love you're videos. I discovered them during our first Lockdown. I use to be a reenacter, but was a complete novice and not in the era I really like. Recently I've discovered historical costumers on TH-cam and I've learnt a lot from the fabulous people of the comunity. However, although there seems to be a huge amount of channels dedicated to women's clothes I've been desperately searching for a good informative channel for men's clothes in the era I am interested in (Victorian/Edwardian). You're videos have been an absolute delight and I absolutely admire your passion and knowledge. I'm always looking forward to the next one. Thank you for all the work you put into your channel, and please keep up the good work.
I am most intrigued in learning of how to properly wear a pocket watch and fob with the ribbon. I have a similar style and was curious if you could make a video of the sort.
Hello! thanks for another interesting and fun video, I enjoy your style, both of making videos and of dress :P Out of curiosity, do you own any chatelaines?
Pop me a message on Instagram! If it's gallery-less, it could be the angle. If it has a gallery you may need longer galleries. It's not necessarily an issue with diameter.
@@AntiqueMenswear sorry, i dont have Instagram. Could you tell me how to fix the angle? Its a rimless monocle. Luckily it doesnt happen when I read but until i move my eye ball up or when my eye blinks, i started to feel the len touching the eye's skin sometimes
What-ho. Those german generals for sure knew how to rock their monocles. they looked quite dashing with it in combination with those epicly designed uniforms. I have also seen german generals wearing a rimless monocle in both eyes and without lanyards. looks quite awesome. I also think that, just like in the UK, the fast majority of people who wore a monocle didnt actually needed one, but that they were very often worn as a fashion accessory/statement. being a german general kinda mend that you had to wear a monocle, weather you needed/liked it or not.... just to fit in. i also think it added to their authority in some way. I think the rimless monocle looks quite good on you. As a full time pince-nez wearer i'm looking forward to some pince nez vids. And have you tried snuff already? No Edwardian gentleman would ever have left his house without a well filled dainty snuffbox. Snuffboxes were very much a part of fashion as an accessory, it showed status, wealth and also could send messages of what mood someone is in or as a conversation starter. The first thing a gentleman would do in meeting other people is to take out his snuffbox, flaunt with it and offer them a pinch of delicious well scented snuff. ... and make sure everyone has seen how expensive and well made his silver or gold snuffbox is without being too obvious about it. There is a whole etiquette about snuffboxes and how to take snuff. I really think you ought to give it a try.... its 100% save and it is impossible to get cancer from it. Toodle pip
So do you wear this when you're out eating お好み焼き??? Hahaha. The looks you must get. I'm guessing you're an 英会話 teacher out there. It's easy to stay in Japan because it seems so far from the rest of the world. I couldn't last more than two years though.

Jolly good show! Bully!
Lovely Bowler hat. Fits you well and you don't wear it down by the ears - a mistake that too many people make.

I think people with oily skin and flatter(?) face would have a hard time wearing it..?
