- Day in the life of a plumber
In todays video we start a new project where we begin to first fix the soil and waste pipework that feed the bathrooms and en-suites. We run the pipework for the baths, showers, basins and toilets. I show you my tips and tricks along the way.
As always, thanks so much for watching, all the support is so greatly appreciated

It was a very nice site, one of the best I've been on, thanks for the support as always mate
18:04 you look possessed! Much love Thomas. Nearly 10k.
We are getting close to the big 10k now, thanks for the support as always mate
Nice job tom💯👍
Thanks for the support as always Patrick 👍
Brilliant as always Tom,
It’s not often that you in before the other trades 😂,
👍😎🤜
It's always nice to get in first, especially for soils and wastes, thanks for the support as always Tony
cheers tom, interesting job. almost 10k 🥳
We are nearly there now Pete, thanks for watching as always mate 👍
wouldn't miss an episode 😁 not seen you chiselling any concrete lately with a vde screwdriver? the armchair enthusiasts must be getting very frustrated lol
Great content Tom.
Thanks for the support as always James 👍
A nice project there Tom, great video too. 👍😎
Thanks for the support as always PB, this one should be a nice job
Yes Tom you do need to get in first when you are putting in the soil pipes ..not a lot of movement on them to go around obstacles. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always John, it certainly does make life easier doing them first
Thanks for the upload Tom, Looks like a good project.
Thanks for the support as always Keith, I'm looking forward to getting stuck into this one
Superb as always
Thanks for the support as always Stephen
Good job bud. I'm with you on solvent and boss sockets. 👍 Free tip stick the glue pot on top of a roll of masking tape or duct tape and you can swivel it to any angle so you get a decent load on your brush when the tubs half empty😊
Great idea that mate, thanks for the support as always, it is greatly appreciated
Nice work as usual Tom, great when it’s all open for ya easier than a lot of repairs.
It does make life so much easier, thanks for the support as always Charles
I was grinding my teeth when i saw you drilling through them wall studs. It wouldn't of been allowed back in the day but it seems things have changed. You do a good job and the soil pipes are bob on. Keep the videos coming they are entertaining 😉👍👍👍
These weren't structural studs so were OK to drill, the builder has reinforced them anyway now which I will show in a future video, thanks for watching as always 👍
Great video Tom, I do like watching the soil & waste pipe type video's.
Thanks for the support as always mate, I'm so pleased you enjoyed the video
Lovely old job
Thanks for the support as always Andy 👍
First contractor on site double bonus. All that lovely space.
It does make life so much easier, thanks for watching as always mate 👍
Hi Tom, another nice first fix going in there, it’s great first fixing a new build especially like you say, when you are first trade in.
I do enjoy working on my own, I hate a busy site so I don’t do much of that work anymore.
That job is looking good and I look forward to the next episode, as always take care Tom. 👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always Chris, I don't like busy sites either, this job was nice and relaxing though which is always nice when you can just enjoy the job and get on
Very nice video Tom,and Notting better than having a new built too work on all that space 👌and thanks just reminding me that I’ve left one not glued on the soil pipe so I could get at the cold water feed and the hot going down to the kitchen, cheers for that just think another plumber in 60/70 years time will appreciate the work you’ve done. Hope all goes well on Wednesday night see you on the next Tom👍👍👍👍👍👍🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🙋♂️
Thanks for the support as always mate, it is nice to have a good space to work in, hopefully it goes well Wednesday 👍
@@PlumbLikeTom hopefully no penalty 🏴👍
Well that was better a win at last in normal time 👍👍👍👍👍🏴🏴🏴🏴
Great video Tom, I bet you had a great time on this 1st fix being on the job first, makes life easy for you for once 👏👏
I really enjoyed this one, it's nice to just be able to come onto a job an crack on, thanks for the support as always Andy
Looks like a good project and look forward to seeing it progress, tidy pipework as always Tom, getting that 1st fix spot on makes life so much easier, just hope no one else damages your hard work. 👍🚽
Thanks for the support as always Peter, I'm looking forward to getting stuck into this one, hopefully it should be a nice job
You deserve so many more subscribers, you should be asking people to subscribe at the end of all your videos.
Thanks for the support as always Barry, I don't like pestering people to ask them to subscribe, I think if people enjoy hopefully they will subscribe anyway
I like the measurements 120ish 120ish 😂 perfect
It's always close enough for us plumbers, thanks for the support mate
I am with you Tom , 40mm waste for basins just drop down to 32mm for the last bit . I thought it was 1.5m of 32mm and up to 40mm if it's longer than that . Up to 3m for 40mm and up to 50mm if it's longer . If it is 1.7 m I am on the right side of it . 😉
You are probably right with your lengths, I can never quite remember but just stick to common sense, thanks for watching as always mate, it is greatly appreciated 👍
makita are well known to last a long time, easy to replace parts aswell . im sure your jigsaw will last a long time lol
They do seem like good tools, thanks for the support as always mate
Nice video Tom could you show the termination of the soil pipe in the loft. Will you be fitting a durgo or will it terminate outside?
Yes mate, I think I should be able to include it, this stack had a dirgo fitted and the other one was the main vent, I did the job a while back but probably have some footage
@@PlumbLikeTom fantastic thanks Tom.
Nice content Tom, totally agree when the gear is on site it takes out all the guess work. Did you pitch a tent to make sure you were first in?😂👍🏻
Thanks for the support as always mate, it was nice being first in, when I looked at the job I said I wanted to get the soils in first, everything else I'm not too bothered about
Just a beginner here. Was there a fall on the basin waste that went through the vertical studs or is it ok to be horizontal. Thanks for the vids Tom, their amazing.
I did drop the holes down on each stud by about 5mm, it needs a gentle slope back towards the stack, thanks for watching mate
On that basin waste you might need a anti vac trap Tom
You might be right, thanks for the support as always Kevin
Would be easy if made step platform for fixtures?
I guess but sometimes raised showers don't look as good, thanks for the support mate
@@PlumbLikeTom agreed
🤘😎🤘🫖☕️🍪🎥👍👍
Thanks for the support as always Wayne, have a great evening 👍
Like getting your moneys worth Tom. The jigsaw still does its job.
It certainly does mate, I'm not one to spend money on new stuff if my old one still works, thanks for the support as always
