For me, being sober is the best way to deal with life's miseries and challenges, because drugs and alcohol don't work and they'll only make us more depressed. Sure enough, they can make us forget our problems for a while and give us a sense of joy and happiness, but after the drugs are worn off we find ourselves suffering from the side effects which causes one to feel even more depressed than before. So I have learned from this over the years and I realized being sober is the best and only way to deal with our mental problems, and it is the right state of mind to be in when we are faced with life's hardships. Thanks again Eckhart.🙏

Thank you 😊 Yes. Thinking can create a lot of inner noise and misery, but when we become able to slow it down, have more space, and learn to choose to which kind of thoughts we follow and play with, then it's creativity and we can build up beautiful things and life situations in a way that animals can't. It's a gift to become a conscious human. Thank you for supporting so many people, Eckhart 🙏🏾😊

Uhm.... so the title says "HOW to stay present amidst life's inevitable challenges", and I enjoyed the examples and imagery, but apart from staying away from alcohol, smoking things to escape the thinking process, and knowing that if you have a perfect life it won't stay perfect long, I did not get the "how to stay present" part. Mr Tolle did mention to be the ocean and not just the ripple, but I don't know how to be the ocean. Perhaps I missed it somewhere or need to watch another video. Can anyone please elaborate or advise? Thank you kindly.❤❤❤

Hi, I do appreciate what you're asking and though I'm still young to the practice of presence and self awareness, reading and rereading E.T 's book The Power of Now, was for me the starting point. A plain and (mostly) understandable introduction to the opportunity for deep personal change. The videos have been a bonus and I return again whenever I need a reminder of the basics, usually saying out loud "talk some sense to me Eckhart!" Your own personal recognition/awareness of the need to know more about the the HOW is a great thing and will lead you also to seak out the next step and the detailed guidance you're ready for. I have also come to understand that what we're looking for on the deeper level we will find.
      For one example
I have found some of the TH-cam teachings from Mihi and others on The Fourth Way TH-cam, get into the methods of practice for increasing self awareness and presence.

The title does not always capture the essence of the video. As you watch more videos, you will see a larger picture. I like annmarch's reply about reading Eckhart's books. If you are serious, that is the way. The Power of Now is his first book. I highly recommend it. I started with A New Earth, and that book is also amazing. Blessings!

      Hello ❤❤
I love the sincerity of your comment, and will speak to it from my experience :)
Eckart often advises ‘one conscious breath’ between activities(just following one full breath with your attention without thought, we do this naturally when we sigh). This can be difficult and awkward. If it is, then you are probably stressed and tense. So you can also see the ‘one conscious breath’ as an invitation to relax the tension in the body and mind from always striving.
Currently I am enjoying the pointer ‘notice the sense of a doer, trying to make something happen’. This ‘doer’ presents itself as a sort of tension in the body, and when I notice it, I invite it to relax.
I enjoy doing this in the more menial and repetitive tasks, like driving and walking, but practice in the small things gradually pays off in the big things. Gradually you will recognise the tension in subtler forms and invite it to relax deeper and deeper.
      Hope this helps :)
If you have any sort of addictive behaviour, Eckart also advises setting aside some time, say one minute, to simply ‘watch the urge’ this is similar to what I described above, and he often describes it as watching a ‘gremlin’ - very poignant.
Most importantly, follow what resonates with you, you know what to do:)))❤
I will see if I can find some videos from eckart that address your question also:))

Well done again!! Yes, HOME is in the image of the Uncreated and when one is there one spirals round the Center in love and as St. Theresa of Avila said, then we can walk in the garden in the 'wine cellar' so to speak and yes, there too thought is sort of suspended as we breath in love with LOVE--through our angel into us and through us from our angel (the daemon or heavenly form who sees the face of God (look at the Sandro Boetticelli painting ' the Mystical Nativity at he top--at the bottom is you warring with the opposite for divinr proportion) because we cannot receive God's light direct yet . . . But soon . . .Eckhart, why don't you tell them that the Prophets were correct in the old testament about regeneration . . so they can be a raised light form of the Son like you through regeneration . . Palpable contingencies have galvanized an incessant flare of "intoxication." The "essence" of intellectual thought must be sourced through intelligible "forms." Have you used the "past" as a catalyst in identifying "value" as a method of verification? Humans place themselves in a circular "conundrum." "It's The Past That Makes Me Who I Am." This statement is a complete misconception. It is the future which made you who you were. This is fundamentally different for the ontological basis of existence can only be prescribed through variables which are "unidentified." The future exists, as it is in existence, for this will be the case, not what was the case, as that which exists can only be measured by what transcends existence.
