I’ve commented this before but I thought I’d mention it again! 💜 When the kids get older and you and Erik want to spend time with the kids one on one:
-Maisy Mondays
-Wesley Wednesdays
-Flynn Fridays
I think that’s so perfect how that works out!

It could even just be the first or the last Monday Wednesday and Friday of the month. Obviously it’s a little much to do this every week but it could work as a once a month thing. And if one or the other parent or both are unavailable they can reschedule and the kids will eventually get use to it

It's.... hard. My poppy passed away when I was pregnant and knowing he never got to meet my son is torture especially because he was soooo excited for me. For years I thought I couldn't have kids, so when I found out I was pregnant it was a huge surprise and he nearly jumped out of his bed despite being bedridden for nearly 10 years prior to that. I think about him all the time and know he would have been obsessed with my boy.

I’m so fortunate to be able to have 16 years with my great grandpa and 17 with my great grandma. Growing up I thought everyone did. So I was so confused when nobody was talking about their great grandparents. I spent every day after school with them up until middle school. Losing my great grandpa was very hard, I think it was really hard on all of us great grandchildren. My little brother doesn’t understand what really happened so everytime we go over to their house he goes “gonna see pawpaw at Nanny’s house?” And it’s so sad. He doesnt understand that he’s not there. Our great grandpa was one of his favorite people.
same 🥲 my great grandma and i were really close, and even though i always obviously knew that my kids won't get to meet her, it's still crushing to think about. she went to be with Jesus almost 2 years ago and i still miss her...
@@Ya_boi_jasper this hit me hard bc i also grew up with my great grandparents. my great grandpa passed away when i was 10 and my great grandma when i was 18. it's definitely a blessing to get that many years with them, but it hurts bc they're very missed. sorry for your loss 🤍

I adore how Maisy reads books! I have never seen a baby read like that. I'm a pre-k teacher, and I can't wait to see what she grows up to be! She is SO smart! Obviously Flynn and Westley are smart too.

colleen, i lost my voice at a music festival this past weekend so i tried to minimize my talking/cheering/singing along and it was SO FRUSTRATING! i really feel for you! glad you are able to use your voice a little more each day, and thank you for posting about it because i feel a little more educated about how to take care of my own voice now as it heals ❤

My mom just recently lost her job, I’m going through kidney failure and my dad broke his back and can’t work and as you can imagine it’s been a hard year for my family and we’ve been struggling- but watching your vlogs honestly brightens my day alot and reminds me somehow that everything is going to work out and be okay…. So thank you Colleen for being a ray of light for me 💕
I'm feeling super overwhelmed. I'm pregnant & my due date is this Saturday & my Dr told me today that my daughter will most likely need to be in the NICU for the first week of her life. I never imagined I'd leave the hospital without her. This is my first & only baby & I don't know how to process all these emotions & fears coming up. I know you got thru it & other mama's have too. I really want to breastfeed & I hope I'm able to have that connection with her when she comes home. Our Dr is hopeful that she'll only need to stay for 1 week & I'll hopefully be there the first 3 days recovering. We get induced on Monday if she doesn't come earlier. Thank you for posting these vlogs & for showing your NICU experience bc at least I have an idea of what to expect when my baby is there. ❤

Oh my goodness my heart absolutely melted watching you help Flynn with making the jam! My mom and dad would always find little ways to have me help in the kitchen when I was little, and they are still some of my favorite memories! That pampered chef veggie chopper was and still is my favorite to this day. I am in my second year at college, and I live alone so I usually cook for myself. I always think back to those memories, and seeing you do this with Flynn brought me so much joy. I have been having a really hard time with my mental health lately, and watching your videos daily, even with you going through stress with your voice/throat, has been so comforting. You are such an inspiration, and I love feeling like I am a small part of your family from the outside! Love you so much Colleen❤️❤️

My daughter loved books the same way as Maisy, and that has never changed!!! She is now 22, and to this day, every birthday and Christmas wishlist is filled with book requests. I would not be surprised if it is just innate, though lots of summer reading clubs at our library definitely supported her passion. She is getting ready to graduate college and just got a full scholarship to graduate school, and I swear part of her success is due to that passion!!! Such a proud Mama I am, but the enjoyment reading gives her is a gift.
It's rare the times I decide to look at comments on her videos, but today I decided to do it and I feel like these people who leave negative comments don't watch Colleen daily, or don't watch the videos when she opens up about her struggles. I felt so bad reading them and I can't even imagine what Colleen must feel like when she reads them herself, especially after saying on this vlog how down she was feeling. So, Colleen, I hope you focus on the good comments, I hope you focus on the ones that brighten up your day, I hope you see and feel the good energy of the people who admire you and really care about you are sending your way. Forget about the bad comments and focus on yourself, on your healing and how good your family makes you feel. Anything some random people on the internet say based on a 18-minute vlog is just static noise, it doesn't add up to anything in your life.
I hope you have a great day and someone puts a smile on your face (I'm sure at least 5 people will), just like you did to me with this video.

You’ve talked about how you have disordered eating. Not an eating disorder, but disordered eating. I have had the SAME issue for a few years now, and I knew I didn’t have an ED but I didn’t know what it was. Every time you’ve talked about it, it resonated with me and I did a bunch of research about it. My husband doesn’t understand why I can’t just pick something out in the fridge or the cabinet to eat when I’m hungry, If I’m not craving it I just won’t eat until I get what I crave or want. How do I get him to understand this? I’ve tried so hard but he just doesn’t get it. he’s someone who can close his eyes, pick a random food and eat the entire thing.
It’s also to the point where if something sounds good, but if I know it’s something I can feed my kids (4 & 2) then I won’t touch it because I don’t want to take food away that my kids can eat. It’s SO stressful

My family and I fostered ducklings during the pandemic and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. I loved every minute of it. We named them Norman and Pickles haha! I miss them so much especially when I see how much fun you and the kids have with your chickens.

TTQ: Do you think you might have PMDD? It’s pretty common with women with ADHD. It’s an intense depression that happens post ovulation and lessens after your period starts. I have it, and so does my best friend who has ADHD as well.

I know that your move to the new house was a difficult transition (coming from a girl who struggles with a change!) but I'm hearing Flynn and Erik playing in the backyard while you're playing with Maisy and Wes and it made me think how much that move was worth it! All of those growing pains that come with it, that I know will continue, but hearing those happy kids outside reminded me of all the times you said that's just what they needed. I know you know this, but I wanted to point it out again because it feels like such a special thing. You did that! I know times are tough, but that just made my heart so happy for you.
