- In Episode two of this project, I tackle rebuilding the Carburettor and tear down the brakes to work out what parts I need. And he starts and idles!

I like your atv resto videos. Keep it up.
Thanks mate. More will be coming on the Honda project and I have three Polaris quads to build one good one. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers Andy
Surprised at how well the truck wash worked in the ultra sound bath. Good to see it running. Looking forward to the new Mic.
You and me both mate. That was about 25mins at 55 degrees C. Impressive Ultrasonic cleaner.
A little bit tedious in parts but very brave of you doing that carby! She was a doosy. Very good, informative video again, probably could put in some subtitles when the fan noise is over your voice.
All up awesome job with a great result "it's alive!!" again 😁
Thanks Mr Conspark. Noted about the fan noise. I have ordered a lapel mic but it's way too hot to work in the shed without the fan. How do I improve the tedious bits without losing the detail that many watchers like? I am trying a slightly new method of editing you might notice. Trying to find a good balance of detail and not tedious. Thanks again for commenting.
Nice work Andy, looking forward to it progressing further
Thanks Mark. It's certainly a struggle at the moment, the weather is not conducive to making vids in the garage! Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers
Excellent! I watched your brutus videos as I also have a VZ SS ute that I tinker with and I also have a Yamaha Quad of the same vintage as yours that needs work! Mine is a Timberwolf 250 that I've had since I was a kid. It runs fine but jumps out of gear when you give it gas.
Anyways, keep up the good work mate.
Thanks Adrian. Glad you are enjoying this build. Get onto that Timberwolf! Quads and bikes are a great way to learn basic mechanics and if you stuff something up, no biggie! Thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers Andy.
Awesome work. Did you have to set the floats? I have a 1997 kodiak 400 and the floats been messed with ... can't seem to find any specs or point of measurement ..
No mate, I didn't have to set the floats. What symptoms have caused you to think they have been messed with? Generally the only problems with floats is cracking and filling with fuel.
@@grayzbildz shortly after I bought it the fuel started coming out over flow. The floats were definitely adjusted from previous owner(s). I did "rebuild the carb and adjust the float to what I thought it should be . Couldn't find specs so I did the clear hose method . Now it starts very hard. When I do get it going its either searching at idle or running out of fuel when I take it for a quick rip.
@@jeffwiddes8777 not wishing to be condescending, when you say "rebuilt', you included new needle and seat? If so there is a possibility of grit or dirt causing the needle not to seat correctly causing fuel overflow. Failing all that, just bend the float arm so that the needle seats earlier. I would only be a couple of mm.
@@grayzbildz I checked all that multiple times .. it seems like I just can't get the float right . I've heard you set it so the tangs are parallel with the bowl mating surface. I've had this carb on and off ALOT! I guess one more time won't hurt lol.
I'm real surprised I can't find specs for this carb on mikuni site
@@jeffwiddes8777 did you check the floats for any fuel in them? That will cause full overflow as well. After that, I'm not sure cobber, without being there to help you! A bit far from Tasmania to the US (?) Cheers, Andy
