I feel very fortunate and yes, blessed that I have had the opportunity to see Mr. Hartley's final resting place. I have heard his story a number of times over the years, however it doesn't get any easier to hear it. They played until the end and that is as heroic as it can get in such a terrible tradegy. God bless this man as he plays for the angels.
So sad that Wallace lost his life at such an early age. But he died doing what he loved. Playing music for the people. Another great one Dan. Love from Georgia USA
I was happy to see you uploaded this again - I thought I'd missed it the other day when I couldn't access it. What a lovely, peaceful setting. I knew who Wallace Hartley was and it was touching to see his grave and read the backstory you provided. Sad to learn the story of SC Halstead. When I watch your videos, I'm always humbled by the thought that there is a story behind each one of the grave markers we see up close or in the distance, representing a cherished life to someone. Thank you for taking us along, Dan.
Hi Chris, sorry for the confusion. For some reason audio went missing from a part of Hartley's grave. Yeah there's so many stories to tell, it's just a shame we don't know them all.
Beautiful grave monument. It was a very sad story when the Titanic sank to the bottom of the sea. So many lost their lives. Thank you for visiting this graveyard.
breathtaking old cemetery, the view is so peaceful! the flowers look like they belong on Wallace's and family grave, nice way to pay respects.. thanks for the tour ❤️🕊️
Beautiful cemetery. Yes, you were quite fortunate to be able to visit his grave. Such a sad time in history. Thank you, Dan for sharing your visit with us. 🌹
I'm so glad you filmed this one...I've always wanted to travel over to Colne to visit Wallace Hartley's final resting place...I'm a total Titanic geek and this one is very special....another great Dead Good Walk :)
Thank you for bringing history to life of such a sad time and telling of the bravery of young Hartley and music that held the hearts of not only the band of musicians but folks the were aboard the ship. Thank you

I have been to Wallace Hartleys grave in Colne . I went on a day, when there Wasn't a soul in the cemetery. I placed flowers on Wallace Hartley grave and took time to think of what it must have been like to be on the Rms Titanic on that night with no hope of rescue and time running out . Too deep to contemplate.😢 Rip Wallace Hartley On a lighter note, If you're finished paying your respect to the memory of Wallace. If you're hungry, head for the cemetery chippy opposite the cemeteries main gates. Thanks for sharing 👍
I have to return one day to bring him some flowers, I was going to leave a little boat but realised that might be inappropriate. Good on you for leaving him some flowers. That chippy did look good :)
I am enthralled with your channel!! So well done! The view/landscappe of this particular cemetery was just absolutely stunning!! Thank you, for sharing it with us.
RIP Wallace Henry Hartley!! You were a VERY courageous man!!💔😥 Dan, I'm sure I saw a plaque or something similar dedicated to Wallace in Dewsbury Minster!! I could be wrong, though!! XXXX 👍💚💖
We have a big historic cemetery outside of Philadelphia, over looking the Schuylkill River, it’s called Laurel Hill, one of the first cemeteries in the US designed to be like a park, before there were parks. Last time I was there, I found a graves of a Titanic passenger. Supposedly there are several there. Though, living in a maritime state, a lot of the cemeteries here have graves of sea captains or people who died at sea. Some of the ones in towns closest to the ocean have mass graves from shipwrecks that happened off our coast in the days of sail.
What total bravery it took, being calm and playing music in all the fright and chaos going on. 🙏🕊
My great uncle Archie Jewell served on the Titanic, he survived that, survived the Britannic and went down on the HMS Donegal.
Blimey, what a story Ken. I bet there’s not many who’ve done that
What an incredible life story. And my sympathy to you and your family.🪬♥️🏴🧿🚢🧿🏴♥️🪬

He's an absolute hero isn't he, The music he and the band played would be the last thing many people heard. I hope it gave comfort to them
His violin was discovered and authenticated a few years ago.
It was auctioned for a fortune and is now in a museum somewhere.....
Such a tragedy and such maturity in his young years to assure those around him where they would go. ❤

Thanks Joan, I can't help but think he was put on his earth to do this
@@deadgoodwalks I think so too, about him and other people like him that have special talents.

Beautiful and well maintained cemetery 😊 and what a view. Sad what happened to the Titanic and a lot of the people on it. Tragedy 😢
Another well done video. As a photographer, I always wish I were there alongside to shoot medium format b&w.
Thank you Joe. Yes these places would make some amazing shots

The music notes at 4:36 are possibly one of Charles Wesley hymns

素晴らしい映像ですね。ありがとうございます。❤
every time I see your video, their tombstones are hundreds of years old. I often think of those who died, do they still have family or descendants
I’m friends with one of Wallace’s descendant's. .
素晴らしい映像です。❤
That's sad :(
❤❤❤
Can Wallace Hartley's body be found in the middle of the Atlantic?
Halstead’s murderer got only 2 years in prison!
