Hey from Jackson, MS in USA. I'm disabled and don't get out much so you guys that walk these peaceful places help me feel like I've been out for a walk. Thanks.
I just started watching your videos and enjoy them. The only advice I'd offer is to slow a moment so we can kinda see them too. People won't get upset if you're there. In the victorian times when cemeteries were created, it was very normal for people to picnic in them. In the end cemeteries are more for the living than the dead. It's where we remember them.
Thanks Victoria. It's a bit tricky to keep everyone happy, some people just want to walk and others want to read. I'm working on it, but in the meantime you can slow the video down or pause it.
Friedrich von Amerling (14 April 1803 - 14 January 1887) was an Austro-Hungarian portrait painter in the court of Franz Josef. He was born in Vienna and was court painter between 1835 and 1880. With Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller, he is one of the outstanding Austrian portrait painters of the 19th century.
Love this tour! I live about 100 kilometers away and was never there. Its on my to-do list. Manfred Deix was an absolut catlover, he lived together with about a hundred cats. Great tour! Greetings from Austria Michi
@ 17.05 Johann Andreas Streicher was a German pianist, composer and piano maker. In 1793, he married Nannette Streicher, another piano maker and daughter of Augsburg piano maker Johann Andreas Stein. In 1794, they moved to Vienna. From that time, Streicher worked as a piano teacher and became increasingly known for his compositions. The Streicher piano-making business provided at least one fortepiano to Beethoven in his early years, of which the composer was fond, writing that it was "too good for me ... because it robs me of the freedom to produce my own tone".
I love the quotes of Beethoven especially one of them, He said music is like a dream. One that I cannot hear. In other words he made very good excellent music but he himself could not hear the music that he wrote to know if it was good or not. But his music was good. I like that quote. Then, let every man do that which is right, strive with all his might towards the goal which can never be obtained, develop to the last breath the gifts with which the gracious Creator has endowed him, and never cease to learn. For life is short, art eternal. I wish you music to help with the burdens of life, and to help you release your happiness to others.

I stumbled across your channel by accident today and I've been hooked ever since....Your videos are brilliant, informative and the way you carry yourself is very respectful...I subbed - keep up the great work :)
The artistry of these monuments is astounding. I’ve never seen so many breathtaking memorials. Even the plinths with the huge rings are stunning. So well kept. Neat as a pin.
Dan, what a beautiful Cemetery. It is really well maintained and I'm very impressed how beautiful the statues and the architecture of them are. Sorry was so hot for you but thank you so much for dealing with it to show this wonderful Cemetery. Thanks for the tour again.
Wow, this one is amazing, atleast i saw the graves of some famous figures like Beethoven, Mozart and Strauss, etc... Love it... thank u so much DGW. More power to your channel
Absolutely amazing!! I've been to many cemeteries but none as amazing as this. Thanks for sharing this. I really admire the respect given to the residents and those who are burying their loved ones at the time of the making of the blog. Unfortunately, some blogs are disrespectful and uncaring.
Absolutely beautiful! thank you for taking us on your journey :) I've been to Vienna two times but never went to visit a cemetery. I'll definitely do that the next time I get there. So well maintained and so peaceful. Again, thank you for sharing this 💚
Found you on tiktok, I would love to do all this but haven't got the capacity... so thank you for sharing ** the pink grave is that of Franz West, who was known for eccentric squiggle sculptures 😁
Wow Dan. What a fabulous place. Beautiful. Stunning. The detail on that giant monument with the curtains. You could see the fringes and the tassels of the curtains. The hours of work that went into it. So much money must have been spent on these moments. At the end of the day they are all just bones like the poorer people.

Wow Dan, I think that was the best walk you have done. This cemetery is so well maintained. Mind blowing to see the Composers Corner. Hello from Canada’s West Coast. Love your channel!🇨🇦🌹
I read Oliver Pötzsch's ' The Grave digger, a case for Leopold von Herzfeldt ' late 19th century, and I'm reading now ' The girl and the grave digger ' based on the real life of this grave digger who was a very intelligent guy, works at this Vienna central Friedhof. His Friedhof was not quite like this yet I guess. Thank you so much. I've been to Austria a number of times but never there!Amazing place. God Bless. 🙏
An amazing tour, including the musicians' section, with Schubert, Brahams, and Beethoven! I found out that the grave with the reclining Cupid on the lap of a sitting cartoon bunny said, in German, "Unknown Artist" on the stone. "Unbekannter Kunstler" -- 2010. Perhaps one of the oddest memorials.
Wow!! This is cemetery royalty!! So well organized and detailed, beautiful, it looks like their crypts are underground by looking at the tombs that have hooks on the ground, a lot better than the Italian crypts that are above ground but on the walls making it unstable and coffins falling over time.

Beethoven’s grave is awesome it’s actually my first time seeing it. The only famous gave I visited was actor Dudley Moore. He’s buried not to far from me.
What i dislike about US cemeteries is the regulation which requires crypts to be covered by granite slabs, even in the case of private family mausoleums🥺It's a such dull sight to see those all those identical slabs when you peek inside a mausoleum, because it prevents one from seeing those beautiful coffins and caskets of 19th century which are no longer in use ⚰

Correct. Mozart died poor, and was buried in a communal pit. They still don't know which exact pit.
