And the buffering is pretty easy, you don't need to advance any frames, the game always advances time for the upcoming frame when unpausing even when the frame never really plays. I think normally it is 1/15th ingame minute per frame, with sun song obviously much more. You just need to unpause when it is between 5:15 and 6:00 I think. On Wii U and N64 you can even see the clock for a bit, so it is not hard
While you can open the debug menu on Wii VC, that version does not map the game's d-pad, which is what you need to navigate the menu. The only way to make use of the menu is to do it on Wii U VC.
