I tell my 60ish friends that, without the greatest voice, when you write a beautiful song, and you can feel the lyrics in your heart, well, it doesn't matter the voice, it's the message, and how all of us relate to "Trust Me" in so many different ways. It moves your heart, but in a way different than mine, and again, and again and another person. Now THAT to me, is what makes the music special. I'm probably very wrong, I rarely if ever comment. But, superficially, a small guy who overcame bully's (and believe me, they are out there starting around the age of 10. Funny. The girls are worse than I can ever remember boys being.).. Controversy over the lyrics of 53rd and 3rd. Maybe he did or dreamt it. But, if he did, I would certainly not be the first to cast a stone, in fact, I never would. This song, and others that he wrote, were just asking others to love him. It's the heart that matters. And his songs make me think he had a huge heart, capable of a lot of love, but had no one special to give it to; Yes, I am preaching to the choir. You can be surrounded by people all of the time, but be the lonelist person. He used the gifts superbly that God gave him. He didn't cheat God, or us. RIP DD
i'm sorry but the instrumentals are good.. the lyrics are ALRIGHT.. i mean all it was is, 'you can trust me, you can trust me' doesn't take a genius to write that. plus he sounds like a drunk dude doing karaoke night and singing it to a gf he argued with. sure we can interpret the basic words in many ways but it's a thing said a billion times. it is not exactly poetry. but i guess this to you, is everything so, i guess i'll just leave it at that.
