I'm not a punk, don't need loudness nor care about speed. I love classical music as well as reggae and various other styles. But when i heared this music first in the age of 55 i knew that i had missed something very important in my life. It grabbs me by the backbones and makes me need more of this stuff-
There are no more good punk rock bands anymore someone needs to step up to the plate and go back to the basics it's sad to see the world of music in the position it is right now
I guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I stupidly lost my login password. I would love any tricks you can give me
@Ian Juelz thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.

I am discovering the Ramones now🫣 love heavy music for 35 years. Man this is awesome. It has this punk rock style with a little fifties in it as well. Thank you Ramone brothers❤
A great band that originated in New York City, and ended in Los Angeles. Today is exactly 20 years, since this concert 8-6-1996 - 8-6-2016. The Ramones were the real New York City (before it became the gentrified hipster-cesspool), in the form of music. For many Sinatra is the soundtrack to NYC, but for me its the Ramones.
great observation. shit, the band has been gone for as long as they existed in the first place (if you start the clock with their first album). life really speeds up as you age... i don't like where this trend is going... they were a band that, by 1996, SEEMED to have been around forever. but bands that were by comparison "young" at the time, like RHCP, Pearl Jam, the Big 4 of thrash, never mind the classic rock bands from the 70s that still tour, actually had way longer careers.
I was still a little kid when they ended the band, but I remember a local commercial in NYC that had the "Rockaway Beach" song in it. It was probably the first song that I ever heard from them, along with "Somebody Put Something in My Drink" (while watching Like Father, Like Son). I didnt actually know what the band looked like, until an episode of Space Ghost Coast to Coast. But I remember that the NYC that I was born into, Time Square was dark (dim lights, looked like something out of Escape From New York), filled with pimps, whores, and porn theaters and shops. The Subways were also dark (dim yellow lights), filled with graffiti art (inside and outside subway trains), and the official smell was urine. The subway fare was $1.25 (same as a slice of pizza), now fare has become close to a cab ride... It was definitely not the over-expensive "Disney World", that its become.... But sadly many things are also gone, there was an arcade place that I loved as a kid in Time Square that was called "PLAYLAND" and its been gone.... Manny's Music, FAO Schwarz, and Arnold Hatters, are also all gone... DC Comics abandoned New York for LA. Ive gone back to places in NYC that are soo different (aesthetically), that I feel like a stranger in my own city. So for me the Ramones' music reflects the NYC that I knew as a kid, and not the yuppie/hipster cesspool thats forced-out many of us natives due to gentrification. Youre right, all of those bands are a lot older now, than the Ramones were when they retired. In my opinion, I think bands should retire after a number of years. Its good to retire at the top of their field, and not become like some bands that are passed their prime (musically and chronologically), and dont know when to quit. I think that some of the bands that you mentioned, are guilty of that.
Dick Grayson I've lived in Brooklyn and Staten Island my whole life. Yeah, I mean CBGB is gone! Dude I had a couple of crazy nights there seeing Joey (post Ramones retirement). How the fuck can they let that happen? St.Mark's Place in the Village was a great place to hang out and have a punk rock night on the town. It's all fucking gone. The club Continental that was there, where I seen the Dwarves, Lunachicks, etc, Joey used to have Christmas shows there, went to replacing rock bands with a fucking DJ. Dunno if it's even still there. Then take the cleanup of Coney Island in Brooklyn. So yeah. The way the subways looked is captured on Subterranean Jungle's cover. I don't know if you like music like this, but Agnostic Front's video "old New York" complains about all this. The California punk band Pennywise, funny enough, have a video called "homesick" where the complain about the opposite happening to LA, that it went from clean and respectable to gritty.

Yeah they struggled... They were millionaires. All four of them. Ramones shirts year sale profits were 1 million plus from 1980 forward. They sold only one gold record in US when the band was active, still they played on 3000-6000 crowd venues, usually band must have 2-3 albums which go gold in a row to perform for crowd that big allmost every night.
@heyhey heyhey thats a really intense touring schedule, over 22 years average 1 gig every 3 days, thats fucking intense if you look into how much time it takes to get to the next place. pretty much on the road constantly, no time for any other life
I can't add to what has been written, but having listened to the Ramones since the late 80's, we knew the day would come, sad but inevitable, and so we have the final ever show. Great show in every way. If you've been a great, pioneering hugley influential rock / punk band for almost 30m years, THIS is the way to go out. r.i.p
The Ramones are my all Time Favorite band...on my brother‘s cassette-recorder i Heart „Road To Ruin“ for the First Time in 1991. I saw them with my Brother and Friends 1996 on their last Tour in Offenbach, Germany. Thanx for all ... the Parties , the Inspiration and the own Bands ... Ramones forever! Cheers!!
Pretty impressive when you realize he had already been dealing with cancer for a few years by then. Unless I'm mistaken and he was diagnosed after the band broke up.
at this point in the bands career Johnny Ramone the guitarist had moved to Los Angeles and became friends with rob zombie nic cage Eddie vedder and Kirk hammit so he wanted the last show to be in LA so he didn't have to pay a flight to la from new york. its some bull shit
NYC was supposed to be the last show (yes...after River Plate. i have a board feed/bootleg from it) but $$$ changes things. This LA show was supposed to be further down the street/sumset strip at a brand new club called Billboard Live next door to the Roxy(site of old Gazzarris, and now 1 O-A--K). They offered Ramones a fortune to end their career there as it would put them on the map and give them instant credibility on the level of Whiskey, Roxy, Troubadour etc at a time when LA club market was super competitive and crowded with venues. The Fire marshall didn't grant the new club permits and they didn't open in time (opened a little later with Tony Bennett) so they moved the show to The Palace the day before. Goldenvoice was the promoter. I was at this show. I'd seen them 15+ times between 1988 - 1996. sill to this day my favorite band. It was a weird show as Billboard Live was half the size of The Palace and they honored those tickets but don't believe they sold anymore after it moved or at the door. with the strikes for the filming platforms the Palace was 1/2 empty. Every latino gangster in the hood and a lot of hollywood weirdos snuck in thru the kitchen just to see what was up. Weird crowd and a poor vibe. Band was tight but they seemed over it. Eddie fucking Vedder singing the last song w/ Joey broke my heart. people were spiting at him from the crowd.
I heard the Ramones for the 1st time back in 1990. The song I CAN BE. For me The Ramones was one of the best bands who ever lived. Marky Ramone is the best drummer ever. He makes all that noise in a 7 piece drum kit. And the fallen ones were the best at their busyness RIP fellas. Thank you for all the fun. Ramones 4ever!!!
it shows how amazingly ahead of their time they were that their last show, 20 years after the debut album, still finds them at club/theater level in the USA but if they had stayed together and survived, they would be a huge touring act today, maybe even arena level, based on their current popularity.
Well, it was mainly the US that didn't recognize them as they should have done. In Argentina, in 1996, they sold out a 50.000 people stadium, and before that show, they had played in 10.000-20.000 people venues from 1990 to 1995. Every night sold out. In Argentina, The Ramones are the most respected and loved band of all time. And they are definitely the most influential band of all time with The Beatles. Both bands just simply changed music.
I read recently that they started making a ton of money when their songs started being used on commercials. Some may say that is selling out, but as hard and long as they worked, they deserved to make some money. I hope they enjoyed it before they died.
Yes, only mother f...... Who don't know about good music , people who listen Justin Biever and all that's crap ,they disliked this video I thank god everyday for being discover rock music as a kid i cant imagine myself listening Biever or rap or Latin music or raggetton or whatever is call
+1967PONTIACGTO Well I was pretty stoned at the time but I think the Ramones managed two or three songs before they were booed off stage in a hail of bottles and cans....
lol...I asked because the same thing happened when I saw them at a music festival in Toronto in 1979 which included Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Johnny Winter, AC/DC and Nazareth..I left when the Ramones did! Genius is often misunderstood
Sounds like it was great concert, except for the Ramones. They were already known as a NY Punk band so it was a huge mistake to pair them with the well known rock bands of that era. But I think they just wanted to get their name out and must have known they would not last long on stage.
I'm proud to say I saw THE RAMONES 13 times. These guys were part of my youth, now there both gone ..MANY MANY GREAT MEMORIES I never thought the party would end. Last week I met I guy wearing the same RAMONES shirt as me and he said "wouldn't you to have one more night again to see the RAMONES again.".ABSOLUTELY , HEY HO LET'S GO"..i said
he kept his white mosrite and leather jacket, and he had some other mosrites and a rickenbacker, and some acoustics. He ocasionally played some chords on them but never recorded or played live after he retired. But didnt sell the thing.
Was there. Was my family's vacation back when I was in 9th grade. Followed The Ramones from here in Vegas to Arizona, San Diego and then to Hollywood. Best vacation ever...
😥😥😥I loved them from beginning of their career, best band 👊🏻👊🏻I cried my eyes out , and was in really sorrow for 2 weeks.. This band formed me through my youth ; cancer took them , I still in sorrow of the best punk/ new wave- band✝️✝️✝️
That is powerful stuff. Had only heard studio recordings but this is way better. They seem so together as a unit it scares me (in a good way). As a Brit I thought the Sex Pistols were punk. Ramones were the Kings, the Brits can only follow.
Fucking hell, what an epic setlist. The greatest rock and roll band ever, and I was lucky enough to see them twice with Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee and Tommy. There'll never be another band like 'em. RIP.
The greatest rock n roll band is actually the Beatles, the ramones is greatest punk rock band for me. they play punk rock before punk rock become something
1987...Halfway to Sanity tour...NC...I was 17 years old...I proceeded to see them 4 more times in their lifetime. To this day I wear a black motorcycle jacket. Thank you Ramones for existing. The opening istrumental tune is called Durango 95...it's off Too Tough to Die. On the record it goes right into Wart Hog that DeeDee sings. Rock!
Rock and fuckin roll....62 now and still loving the ramones..!!!

1976-1996 they played in the same way...
Honestly, better in 96. Loco Live '95 is my favorite live album of all time.
Andrew Fultz its alive from 1977 is way better
74-96
Andrew Fultz I think loco live came out in March 91.
No they upped there tempo around 86 after animal boy album when they released it's alive the tempo was slower.

From their first concert to their last; no frills, no extra stuff on stage. Just balls to the wall rocking.
Juste eux!
I've never understood how Johnny plays like that, my arm would fall off
+Chris Marshall I tried it once, I had to give up after a few seconds :-) That man was an amazing guitar player
used to do it cuz johnny did it. the trick is you hit the chord on the 1-2 and downstroke the 3-4 like BAHH-BABA!! lol
he looks like he's strumming cuz he is but he only hits it on the downstrokes, so it's not really hard **
Prob so fuckin high, he couldn't feel it lol
Johnny wasn't into drugs, it was that dang DeeDee kid :p

I've always been amazed by how they both hold their guitars so low !!! Would be hell to my wrist !!!

Cheers!!

Gracias The Ramones, gracias por todo, THE RAMONES FOREVER!!!!
ALLWAYS IN MY HEART!!!
Best Punk EVER
Anyone else find it strange that the Ramones logo wasn't behind them for that final show? I'm no believer in omens, but......
Only noticed that now I've seen this video about 5 times hahaha

With Ramones we never get old!!!
They went out without 20 farewell tours, just the one and in true top form - legends
UNA DE LAS MEJORES BANDAS DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS TERMINABA SU CARRERA HACE 22 AÑOS.
#RAMONESFOREVER
Joey's singing voice/style had drastically changed towards the end of their career.
Absolutely
it got better.
Pretty impressive when you realize he had already been dealing with cancer for a few years by then. Unless I'm mistaken and he was diagnosed after the band broke up.
I'm surprised their last show wasn't in New York. I think it would have been a nice "full circle" end.
+st. baptiste It should have been at CB´s :/
neh
at this point in the bands career Johnny Ramone the guitarist had moved to Los Angeles and became friends with rob zombie nic cage Eddie vedder and Kirk hammit so he wanted the last show to be in LA so he didn't have to pay a flight to la from new york. its some bull shit
Because they loved Argentinians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aguante Ramones! 💪

Hermoso show de Los Monchos, pude verlos tocando en vivo varias veces en Buenos Aires, ( Obras,Velez,River) espectacular, una locura, muy lindos reuerdos de esta gran banda""""""""""!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ramones 4ever!!!
check what real drummers do. nils dominator fjellström will laugh about this easy play

❤BRAWO TY
it shows how amazingly ahead of their time they were that their last show, 20 years after the debut album, still finds them at club/theater level in the USA but if they had stayed together and survived, they would be a huge touring act today, maybe even arena level, based on their current popularity.
sono d accordo.......
88 dislike? Who can give "dislike" to RAMONES??
Those are the people who listen to Beyonce and j Beiber
Come on, they are one of the most overrated bands ever.
If you believe that - you don't fucking know Rock & Roll!
Trolls
Yes, only mother f...... Who don't know about good music , people who listen Justin Biever and all that's crap ,they disliked this video I thank god everyday for being discover rock music as a kid i cant imagine myself listening Biever or rap or Latin music or raggetton or whatever is call
Same here! Lucky to see them in 79, opened for Black Sabbath. Then again with Black Flag in 85. Two of the best concerts in my life!
those were certainly some badasses concerts.
+Paul Perron how did the Black Sabbath crowd react to them?
LOS AMO CON TODO MI SER LOS RAMONES CAMBIARON TOTALMENTE LO QUE SOY Y LA MÚSICA QUE AMO Y NUNCA ME VOY A CANSAR DE ESCUCHARLOS!♥
❤❤❤❤
I'm proud to say I saw THE RAMONES 13 times. These guys were part of my youth, now there both gone ..MANY MANY GREAT MEMORIES I never thought the party would end.
Last week I met I guy wearing the same RAMONES shirt as me and he said "wouldn't you to have one more night again to see the RAMONES again.".ABSOLUTELY ,
HEY HO LET'S GO"..i said
Once they retired Johnny sold all his guitars and never played again. One of the most influential bands in the world and it was just a job to him.
trucker44 The best fucking job in the world peace out bro peace out.
I wish I could have purchased Johnny's white Mosrite.
raymond lang Theve gotta be out there somewhere problem is who ever owns it will have a ridiculous price tag on it.
Who knows what he was really thinking.
he kept his white mosrite and leather jacket, and he had some other mosrites and a rickenbacker, and some acoustics.
Proper punk band, the best live for sure😊
😥😥😥I loved them from beginning of their career, best band 👊🏻👊🏻I cried my eyes out , and was in really sorrow for 2 weeks.. This band formed me through my youth ; cancer took them , I still in sorrow of the best punk/ new wave- band✝️✝️✝️
The older I get the more I appreciate the RAMONES
That is powerful stuff. Had only heard studio recordings but this is way better. They seem so together as a unit it scares me (in a good way). As a Brit I thought the Sex Pistols were punk. Ramones were the Kings, the Brits can only follow.
Absolutely, i wanna see some modern performer doing this tight set without backing tracks & autotune :P
grandes Ramones!!!!!!!! se les extraña.
Emocionante !!!!! Cada dia Me Siento Mas RAMONE !!!!!!!!! Cambiaron la rutina de Mi Vida. GABBA GABBA HEY !!!!!!
don't know anyone who can play superfast downstrokes for a full gig like Johnny.
maybe James hetfield except its not full barre chords
2020 we need the Ramones more than ever 😔

Rock!
CJ is the fucking man! love his energy!

RAMONESSSSSSSSSS.
Gracias por compartir. Saludos desde Venezuela
