FYI the threaded holes in the rotor are so you can use 2 bolts in those holes turn them until they stop on the hub and turn them more on alternate sides to pop the rotor off if it is stuck on the hub with rust. put a bit of anti-sieze on the hub centre so it will come off next time as well.

You really should clean off the rust, both on the caliper bracket and wheel hub, you also want to remove the slide pins clean off the old lub, and put new lub on them if you don't lub the slide pins the caliper could lock up on you and wear out your pads faster. Also put the pad retaining clips on the bracket before putting it back on the car. Toyotas dont have screws the hold the rotors on the lugs. Then can fit really loose it all the rust is gone a trick to keep them in place until you put the wheel back on is put 2 lug nuts on hand tight just snug.
I watched this because my 2012 scion tc will be my first set I've ever done rear brakes that use a e break built into the caliper im used to drum e brakes not caliper type.
I'll go buy the tool Amazon has a 22 dollar set harbor freight its 45 bucks they might have a cheaper option.
On clean the rotors just hang them on the lugs backwards the flipt them over the screw holes do not matter, they are there to pull the rotor off the hub like you did.
2 or 3 types of pullers sterring wheel this would use or pully type not used for rotors you want the pulling force closest to what holding it or you can shatter a rotor its cast iron cast irons brittle.
You need to keep the pull force at the hold forces.

No need to rent that tool. To push the caliper piston back in, just use your rachet handle and an extension with a caliper piston cube (Google search or Amazon search will find one). Cheap, easy, and in my opinion, perfect.

I don’t think so, I think the bolt patterns are a little different but I could be wrong

The threaded holes aren’t for set screws they are to run a built down to pop the rotor off. Great video though
