This is literally Chino wanting to be in Massive Attack and making a song like "Protection" but the rest of the band wouldnt let him get away with that shit so he disguises it as a Cars cover HAHA
They all hold each other back and somehow still put out great music, crazy. If it wasn’t for Steph Deftones would have turned into some synth heavy dark goth shit a long time ago. And if it wasn’t for Chino Deftones would have been a basic ass Messhugah wanna be a long time ago lol
Is the main actor Alden Ehrenreich? ya know from like solo or something and more adorably beautiful creatures? scratch that, it is. looked up the movie this is based on, and yes, indeed that is him
i think the only thing deftones missed was the piano. if you hear the original song in the beginning compared to this. it actually has more melody variety than this. it would really sound very 80s. he does have the piano but not the electrical one only the regular. not shaming on deftones or anything just felt like they could of gave it more variety on this song. I been a deftones fan for a while and then when I looked back into the original song compared to this. ngl I perferred the original but on this one you can understand what he is saying a lot clearer than the original. the great thing about deftones and nirvana is that they if I am right focus on their instrumental structures a lot before they do the lyrics. it's possibly the other way around because I forgot but I know they mainly focus on something first before they release a song. I know you can't make it sound exactly like the original because it would be considered a copyright and he probably had permission from the original artist to recreate this song.
