I totally know what you are talking about with the gut punch about your knits. We were living full time in a big Motorhome 43’ and travelling the country. Our motorhome( which contained all we owned after retiring and downsizing) burned to the ground in Feb 2023. I also had as you know thousands of dollars of stash yarn as well as 25+ knitted sweaters etc. I never even thought any of that could be cleaned or salvaged because of the smell and water damage. It was unsalvageable as well as everything else. So as you say we make new things and start again. I also got care packages and what a humbling and touching gesture. We realize at these times that we have to keep the memories because material stuff isn’t permanent is it? Happy to see you both back. ❤
Great to see you again feel bad for your having to go through extra stress the fire would have been enough without more blow, blast,, no words replace effort of past knits.
Thank you so much for the wonderful Thanksgiving surprise podcasts! It's always a delight to see you both. I feel awful just hearing about your beautiful, lost sweaters, Petra. It is devastating news on top of all you have gone through but your correct, time and perspective help out. Wishing you all the joy of your family and the holidays.
A big hug 🤗 to you both and hopefully a bright future ahead, may everything settle 🧶with positive vibes in the next time. Isn’t it fabulous to have a hobby like knitting which helps going through tough times. Thank you for sharing all your knits….🌟
Happy to see you two together and back on your channel. Sending you lots of love. What a devastation, all your knits felted !!! I am so so sorry for you. Mateo is so cute coverded in yarn !!!
Sending you SO MUCH LOVE❤️so much work and love went into your hand knits of that I am sure. You mentioned a felted rug maybe or I was thinking I’ve seen beautiful felted handbags. Just an idea. Thankful that you and your husband were not injured in the fire. Good episode…happy you released it.
I am so thankful that you and your husband were not injured in the fire. I know it has to hurt to lose the hand made items, but its a small price to pay compared to what might have been. I used to work in physical therapy when I was much younger, glad you are improving your range of motion. I hope the holidays bring you joy and bring you home wherever that might be! Kiss that grandbaby and keep in tough with us!
It was great to see these latest episodes. You’ve been missed. Your year has truly been one trial after another; I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with all of it. My wish for you is that 2024 will bring brighter days and tat you’ll be able to get back into your home and make happier memories. Happy Holidays!
Thank you so much for the updates. I am so sorry about all you have been through. Time and new exciting projects will hopefully ease your mind a little. Sending you yarny hugs and positive vibes!✨🧶✨🤗
SO HAPPY to see a new podcast!! Lovely knitting by you both!! I am so sorry so many of your knitted items were ruined!!! My heart goes out to you!! I don't have any sweater quantity of yarn to share as I live in the South and not much use for sweaters but I have TONS of sock yarn and I would absolutely LOVE to share some with you!! Please let me know how to do this!! :) I hope you and your family has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
How heartbreaking to hear about your sweaters. I'm glad you both are doing well, despite all the challenges lately. It was great to see another video from you! And chicago is a GREAT city 😁😁 I hope you've enjoyed your visits!
Wicker Park is an area of Chicago. The original Nina’s was in Wicker Park, not too far from the current location. So glad you found it. There are more shops in the city as well as the suburbs. Have fun exploring next time you visit.
Oh my, I'm genuinly sorry about your felted sweaters, Petra. It probably wouldn't even have felt as worse if they would have been destroyed immediately in the fire. I can absolutely understand, that it's so much worse, because it could have been avoided. Not that it's been hard enough to lose a home, but having to have struggles with people that aren't doing their job properly is something nobody needs in that situation. ❤❤❤
It's always so lovely to catch up with you two! Thank you for sharing your projects and life updates - you are such a delightful mother daughter duo, it warms my heart. This community is so lovely and understanding, I'm glad you could share how upsetting that was to lose your knits in that way, Petra - we get it!! Thousands of knitters are sending you hugs!! Take care xo
I am so, so heartbroken for you, Petra. If the sweaters were burned in the fire, it would have been easier. I feel your pain and I hope you do make a rug or bag (s) or slippers from the felted ones. We crafters understand.
You won't recall me as it has been so long since I dropped by. But I am really sorry for all your troubles! I do hope all the worst issues are mostly over.
Oh Petra 🤬 I am heartbroken for you. I really can’t under stand how this dry cleaners can stay in business . If I only lived close I would give you a big hug and make you a martini .
How about a gnome out of the leftover Bloomscape yarn? ..... I CANNOT begin to imagine having all my hand knits ruined like that. I think I would have thrown up on the spot. How horrid!

So sorry for your garments!
Lovely to see you back girls - just gutted to hear about your jumpers. Oh my goodness, I would have had a meltdown in the shop, never mind the car. ❤
Thank you for your podcast. I'm sorry that happened to your sweaters! You have a good perspective. One day at a time.
Thank you so much!

Wow
Well, now that it’s November you can think about using the leftovers from the punch kit on Christmas ornaments! Welcome back!
I thought about that too. Also for cornucopia veggies and pumpkins.
Hi. Long time no see. Im still trying to conquer punch needle.
Chit chat knits was wearing a knitted cowl her pattern that had buttons on it Petra
Thank you, I’ll check that out.
