I really appreciate your team work. Each person has so much to positively contribute. The best part is how respectful and supportive you are to each other. Great to see. Thanks so much.
So much to enjoy in this episode. Thank you all so much for sharing your beautiful projects. Each one is a treasure. Most of all, the friendship that the 3 of you share sends out a warm and inviting vibe. I feel like I’m just sitting across the table from you. Have a good couple of weeks.
Kim’s paisley sweater is the reason I became a regular viewer of the podcast. It’s a beautiful sweater and I wanted to see her progress as she knit and then the finished sweater
Wow, the blanket! Well done, it’s lovely. Sorry to be a couple of days late to this party: our Thanksgiving (US) was last Thursday and I guess all the festivities threw off my natural clock. You three are so so good together. Thank you.
OH MY - Dec blocks - you outdid yourselves this month - and I thought some of the earlier blocks were my favorites, but nope - Dec wins. It’s just stunning seeing it put together. My 2025 goal to get mine started. Such a delight for a new shopcast to come live. ❤
The blanket is beyond stunning - the sum of the squares is even greater than the parts - congratulations!! I love what each of you are wearing - and I’m inspired to knit Treit now. I’m not usually interested in spinning but hearing and seeing the process of a very special scarf is great. Thanks for this episode!
Another FABULOUS episode! Thank you all so much for an enjoyable podcast to sit and knit along with :). I can not wait to start this blanket! It's in my line up... knitting things as fast as I can, yet slowly enough to enjoy the process!! Thanks for posting the final square so early and showing the assembled blanket.. It's STUNNING!! Good job, ladies!
Took some me time this afternoon to enjoy another entertaining woolcast - it’s always time well spent. Didn’t think anything would top the finished blanket but the music during the harmony segment filled me with joy! Thanks for making my day brighter.
Appreciate you all. Find joy in the small and big moments. We’ve been in rainstorms too with high winds in southwest corner of Canada. Didn’t lose power this time so thankful.
You always put a smile in my heart with your crafts and camaraderie. And I love a good cloudy day (which is a good thing, since we get a fair share of them here in cental NY). Cheers!
The blanket is a wonderful interpretation of the flora & fauna on PEI. I think the local press would be interested in hearing about and photographing it. Uplifting stories always good to hear.
Betsy, Thank you for your nontraditional Shift cowl. I have some handspun I wanted to use for that pattern, but I wasn't sure how it would look without using long color changing yarns.
Morning!! I love your podcasts, thank you for all you share!! A quick thought about the finding ribbon to c over your steek....The Woolly Thistle in Lebanon, New Hampshire carries a collection of Norwegian ribbons for finishing.
For the steek sandwich pickup, it also works well to have a piece of waste yarn (or a synthetic barber cord) on the back side to wrap the yarn about each stitch. Of course you then have to side these stitches to a needle but it can feel less awkward than working g with two needles
I’m fascinated by the steek sandwich. I’m a bit unclear as to how it’s done. What I’m getting is that you’re picking up one stitch with your top needle, taking the yarn over the edge and knitting it with a stitch that you picked up with the bottom needle? Simone, does the pattern you used provide a link to a video? Knitting has shown me I am definitely a visual learner! The blanket is beautiful, congratulations! Another great podcast ladies.
Kim, that gorgeous Jennifer Beale sweater is next level, though you'll never convince me that it would look good on my enormous bust. The blanket is beautiful, as is the Yowes sweater vest (no Rams here), and the Jethro cardigan (MUCH more beautiful than any other I've seen). But... correct me if I'm wrong, was the beautiful sunset in the harmony part filmed through a _dirty_ window?!?!?! lol
Another great episode! Just received the PEI Fibre Festival 2025 info. Already booked the hotel. Looking forward to visiting PEI and meeting you wonderful ladies
Oh, I wasn't planning to make the blanket, but now that I've seen it all put together I'm inspired to make it. Darn....I need more time in my life. I wonder if I can skip sleeping for a couple of months. 😄
I am just learning and this is the 1st episode I have seen from you. I am obsessed with that amazing blanket. I am not very good at stranded work but I am learning double knit. I love double knit. What do you think, would double knit work to make it a reversible blanket?
There is a thread on Ravelry that you can look at. There is someone knitting it in double knitting. She is using a knitting loom, but it totally works knitting double the traditional way as well. Here is the link to the group page www.ravelry.com/discuss/fleece--harmony-podcast/4294059/
Thank you an other beautiful episode. I’m hoping to take some vacation this summer and come visit your shop and PEI. I’m in need of recommendations … a friend of mine mentioned that she might be interested in learning to knit. I’m overly excited, but a little puzzled at the same time. What would be a good thing/project to start with? Any size of yarn you would recommend? Any type of needles? Looking forward to any recommendations ☺️
For new knitters we always recommend the Tin Can Knits series for simple knits. It is free and has 5 patterns that build up skills over the projects. Most things are knit in an aran or worsted weight yarn. Probably wooden needles for a new knitter.
Not 100% sure which sweater you are referring to, but I will take a stab that it is the one I am wearing. That is Joe Batt's Arm by Jennifer Beale. I knit it using our Selkirk Worsted yarn.
You mention two sweaters in the steeking section when you hold them up for examples ….would you please provide the names and links to the patterns….both Simone’s and Kim’s
@@sandandskycreations6263I’ve had my eye on Paisley forever! Is that the lavender kit? I can only find the English pattern with the kit. I do love the colors, it looks stunning!
Like Betsy, I too have taken criticism for having lots of projects and not finishing them, but I also have learned to abandon the things that don’t bring me joy! 😅
No warmth, no cheerfulness, no helpful ease, No comfortable feel in any member - No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees, No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds - November (Thomas Hood)
I really appreciate your team work. Each person has so much to positively contribute. The best part is how respectful and supportive you are to each other. Great to see. Thanks so much.
It is a great team! We all contribute in different ways and try to have fun along the way!
So much to enjoy in this episode. Thank you all so much for sharing your beautiful projects. Each one is a treasure. Most of all, the friendship that the 3 of you share sends out a warm and inviting vibe. I feel like I’m just sitting across the table from you. Have a good couple of weeks.
Aww - thanks Esther. We are happy you can join us!
I loved it all, but the blanket and all it symbolizes is definitely beyond compare. What a beautiful accomplishment! 💕
Thanks Lynn. it really is lovely - honestly: even better than I expected! LOL
I love your podcast. The sheep vest was my favorite. Happy holidays.
Lovely episode. The finished blanket is a work of art. Well done to Simone & Betsy. Harmony music & video was such a nice finish. Thanks 🏴
They did such a great job on it!
Kim’s paisley sweater is the reason I became a regular viewer of the podcast. It’s a beautiful sweater and I wanted to see her progress as she knit and then the finished sweater
Yeah - that was quite to project!
Simone, the farmer’s scarf is gorgeous! That yarn! That color! Beautiful!
Thanks (on behalf of Simone) - that yarn is amazing.
Wow, the blanket! Well done, it’s lovely. Sorry to be a couple of days late to this party: our Thanksgiving (US) was last Thursday and I guess all the festivities threw off my natural clock. You three are so so good together. Thank you.
It was an epic project, but totally worth it! We are so happy you enjoyed it!
The blanket is beautiful!
Can you share the names of the sweaters you hold up as examples in the steeking, part of this video please
Love the music and dark clouds!
Thanks!
Thank you! A joy to watch!❤
Thank you for watching Heidi!
The Woolly Thistle here in the US has the ribbon to cover the cut steeks. I’ve used it on my Domino by Jennifer Beale. It’s gorgeous!

I know right...? That music - not the type I usually pick, but I listened to it about 10 times myself! LOL
Nice job on the Harmony Part!!! Well done!❤❤❤
The colors in your Jethro cardigan are ones that your grandmother would be using Simone. Mom liked her browns and rusts too.
Appreciate you all. Find joy in the small and big moments. We’ve been in rainstorms too with high winds in southwest corner of Canada. Didn’t lose power this time so thankful.
I am a true believer in the power of simple pleasures!
Simone! You look beautiful in blue!!

Thank you Ellen!
Great blanket ! Thanks for all your inspiration and your laughters. I guess Kim needed some sun, the Harmony part is just wonderful !!!
Thank you Nicole!
Your podcasts are just the greatest! Thank you so much. I can’t wait for the next one. ❤
Thanks for watching and listening!
The blanket is stunning and I loved the harmony. Well done!
Thank you so much!
Thank you as always for bringing me into your space ❤️
You're so welcome. We love having you here!
Yes, haven't seen the sun in weeks here in Atlantic Canada. My eyes are hurting today with full sun!😂🥰🇨🇦Sharon.
Our eyes are hurting too, but we love it!
Love your podcast! Thank you❤
We are so glad you enjoy it!
Okay….so….the blanket is EPIC !!
You girls seem more rested. I hope that you take a long break at Christmastime, you really deserve it.
Thanks Tracy. Yes we will be taking a well deserved break.
You girls are great!
Thank you Elaine!
I have the doodle book and love it. Will delve into it in the new year.
It is such a great book and so motivating to just have some fun with knitting.
The Woolly Thistle, ahem, carries the lovely Norwegian woven ribbon "tapes."
The blanket is a wonderful interpretation of the flora & fauna on PEI. I think the local press would be interested in hearing about and photographing it. Uplifting stories always good to hear.
It is - as Betsy said - a knitted love poem to PEI
The blanket is gorgeous!
Thanks! The girls did a great job!
Great. Show. Loved learning about the different steering methods. The colourful ribbons can be found at the Woolly Thistle (sorry, it’s another shop)
I am glad you enjoyed it!
Betsy, Thank you for your nontraditional Shift cowl. I have some handspun I wanted to use for that pattern, but I wasn't sure how it would look without using long color changing yarns.
Betsy has the finished cowl on in Ep 162. It turned out beautifully!
Excellent blanket! Very interesting steek study. Thank you ❤
Thanks!

Stunning blanket
Thanks!
A beautiful episode. 🇬🇧
Thanks Elaine!
I’m loving knitting the blanket, not finished yet but enjoying it. Maybe you can release other smaller patterns that aren’t as intensive?
We will think of something for 2025.

Oh! I had a vest like the Jethro Cardigan in Middle School in almost those exact colors! I’d completely forgotten about it! :) Ah, the memories.
It is so nice in person. Simone has such a way with colour choices.

LOL - I think it is manageable because each square is like a mini finished object!
Love your podcast!
Thank you!

can you do an icord border around the blanket? Who gets to adopt it first?
You absolutely can do an i-cord edge!
Betsy I think you were channeling some of Stephen West when describing your shawl😂
LOL!
I love the blanket, but I have a bad mohair allergy, I have to figure out a work around
The blanket is knit with Selkirk Worsted - 100% wool, no mohair. We only use mohair in our sock yarn and our lace.
Your sweater is NEXT level!! What is the pattern?
Not 100% sure which sweater you are referring to, but I will take a stab that it is the one I am wearing. That is Joe Batt's Arm by Jennifer Beale. I knit it using our Selkirk Worsted yarn.
WEll done !! who will be cuddling with this amazing blanket ? each have it for 6 mths rotation ?
It will be living in the shop for now.
Who is going to use the absolutely beautiful blanket?❤️🇺🇸
I think Betsy and Simone should arm wrestle for it 😂
I have the Doodle Knit book. Want to do every one.
It is a great book!
You mention two sweaters in the steeking section when you hold them up for examples ….would you please provide the names and links to the patterns….both Simone’s and Kim’s
Kim’s sweater is Paisley by Sidsel Høivik and my sweater is Chestnut by Marie Wallin

We always have to keep in mind that crafty is a hobby!
Grosgrain ribbon is available at Michaels, probably not as lovely as the ones from England.
Please remind me of the name of special chocolates Canadians gift at Christmas.
Are you thinking of Pot of Gold? There was always a box of Pot of Gold under every Christmas in the Maritimes.
fABRICLAND IN OUR CITY MID CANADA HAS LOTS OF grOGRAIN RIBBON ooops caps on
