I've spent plenty of time in the woods. If a wild animal comes up to you, you freeze and watch them. Apart from a black bear, fisher cat, or a obviously rabid animal you let them do what they want and let them leave. These idiots could have been killed.

i had a moose encounter 3 weeks ago. i live in alaska. i was walking out my door to walk to store and. just as i got by the mailbox just outside my apartment. a moose and her baby came walking out and she had to have been 10 yards away or closer. she snorted. stopped with her baby and was staring me up and down. i watched her close to i didnt have a gun or anything at the time to protect myself with so i walked off watching her close as i went to the store. and she went her way and i went mine. it was a little nerve racking. but nothing happend thank god.
