Toy Caldwell was so under appreciated and Mason Ruffner blast from the past, drummers staying syncopated the whole time isn't easy, Ed King tasty licks, Ed King bringing the honky tonk and lets hear it for master SRV. Stinging rhythm punches to augment the song then steps in to deliver monster tone solo just dancing on the edge and pushing the solo to places only he could think of. Damn!

@marlamedina52 There will never be another SRV. I still cry about his leaving us. I love Toy, Ed Gary but Stevie, had to give him his due. He dressed flashy like a pirate, but his personality was humble. He, his bassist with Double Trouble in mall at tobacco store, walking around, people staring. Had on his hat with white tail, red pants, alligator boots. He was asked "Do you ever feel like you're being stared at? " Stevie said. "Yes, I do". The reply, "Maybe you are. The clothes he wore on stage were not stage clothes but his regular clothes. Love some SRV, one of a kind!!!

Joshua g I think in I got an idea what was in the back Stevie Ray Vaughans mind during this performance. He was playing alongside Charlie Daniels and Lynyrd Skynyrd. For the latter of the two this was one of their first reunion shows and SRV probably had great respect for Lynyrd Skynyrd and didn't want to hog the spotlight that night he probably thought this is their night and let people in the crowd take in these southern rock legends and enjoy it, plus SRV was a humble guy to begin with.

He might’ve been there but cause of the accident unfortunately he couldn’t play and part of his plea bargain was to address the crowd at every show of why he couldn’t perform..such a fucking talent he was and they all were..Skynyrd imo had probably the best lineup in the world in 77 before what happened RIP..

I went to one of the first Skynyrd reunions in in 1987. That version of Freebird thay night with video montage and Johnny putting the black hat on the mike stand and fading back into the shadows on the solo ride out was one of the best memories in my life.

When Leon does his bass solo, it reminds me that Lynyrd Skynyrd used to warm up for The Who. Leon obviously has learned a trick or two from John Entwistle. And when the bridge pick up of Garys Les Paul cuts through the air, the tones goes straight into my heart. Must be a very strong man though, Gary, been carrying that Les Paul for so many decades .. Too bad they didn't make Ed Kings guitar sound better. I have always liked his way to play. An underrated guitarist he is.

I agree. the house mixer didn't get Ed's guitar up soon enough.

If you look at Stevies Strat at 1:49 you can see that those strings are like a mile above the fretboard. Crazy high action. I heard his hands were huge and like vice grips.

@@pjburke131 I actually found out he had slightly larger than average hands but no doubt they were strong. IMO his hands on a guitar would be like the strength of The Mountain from GOT.

Love how Gary led SRV to the front of the stage, like "hey buddy you ain't gotta hide, get up there and show these people what you got." Shows how humble SRV was, he didn't want to upstage anybody up there
