The photo at 10:51. One of my oldest childhood memories is there! Way before the by-passes of Tadcaster and York - I went on a day trip to Scarborough by bus. And that photo reflects that time! We went up to where that area was to catch the bus. I remember it vividly! It was a red single deck bus not a coach but a bus. As I got older I realised it was an RE Bristol. I remember sitting on the back seat. It was packed and the traffic jams around Tadcaster and through York. And I remember the bus going down the slope when we set off. I also remember the old bridge at the side of the Royal Mail building too. And the old Wellington Street station buildings. They were car parks when I was a kid but a back way into Leeds station. Thanks for the images and bringing back old memories of the 1970s.

Very interesting to see just how much land was occupied by the railway in Leeds City centre. Some lost parts can still be seen from the train on the way in from Skipton. Many thanks for such good video.

As a trainspotter and my grandparents living in leeds i saw most of these locatitions and brings back happy memories of a railway so strong but now so weak due to "rationalisiation"

People spent 100's of hours designing these structures, and other people spent 1000's of hours building them. Care and craftmanship all round.

What an absolutely beautiful combination of pictures and music. The first piece of music seems to say, "all that we have lost. "

This has changed my life. I now know what has been stolen from Britain.

The west side of Leeds had some huge railway junctions.
    Excellent content.

What set of magnificent photographs 👍🫡 And this is from a guy that has seen thousands upon thousands of photos of the old central station area of Leeds. Stupendous infrastructure never to be repeated again as today’s moronic council/planners are only capable of putting speed bumps in the road. Keep up the great work 👍 I’ve subscribed 👏👏👏👏👏

all the councils power and funding has long since been stripped away to central government it's the treasury that refuses to invest in infrastructure for Leeds in the name of stable finances

Thank you for these wonderful photos. They took me on a journey back to my Leeds childhood in the 1950s and 60s. So sad, and so long ago.😢
I feel blessed to have these memories to cherish. 🙏

A magnificent set of photos of my favourite station ( at least the wagon lifting tower is still there as a mini museum).
Spent five great years there as a diesel loco service eng’r, very sad it was ultimately demolished. Best times then with Gresley and Peppercone locos etc.
