Haha I do plus the fact that it feels so out of place lore-wise. Doesn't seem like Eldar should have machines designed millions of years ago based on a horse/four legged hooved animal.
@@cbjewelz And yet they are themselves humanoid... Also, wasn't there like a planet with dinosaurs inhabited by some Eldar? Warhammer lore is so inconsistent that this is really the least of its problems.
@@Ainar86 Yea true. I guess it's easier to believe there are reptilian/dinosaur creatures all over the galaxy vs a horse. A horse is a very specific animal. Honestly I think the concept could work but this is just ugly ha
The bright stallion looks like it's actually capable of locomotion. The imperial knights and titans almost all look like they will fall over if they lift one of their legs.
Honestly, when you put it next to the other minis, both eldar and imperium, it doesn’t look bad. Honestly the most I could say is that it looks “bad” the same way old pewter miniatures look “bad”. Not to mention that the idea of a centaur mech is juts a cool, and barely exploded concept.
Emil jumping from his couch when seeing Bright Stallion pieces on a Storage Wars episode and the guy going "Naaah, it's probably not worth anything". Nice vid!
I like the figure. alot. heck out the horse mech from the animal Panzer Galiant. This design is much cooler. There were several plastic models and several garage kits for this horse mech. These would make great foundations to kit bash into 40k scale knight
I actually find the futuristic centaur concept quite interesting. There used to be a trading card game called "Duel Masters" where one of the races had a series of creatures that were biomechanical centaurs made of liquid crystals, that's the only instance i can recall of a work featuring a futuristic take on a centaur.
I loved the Bright Stallion and I think it's only curse is that it is not around. It's different and reflects Exodites very well. I hope you can track down the larger model. It is a gem. ❤
You should definitely try to make a bright stallion conversion in 40k size and try to fix the perceived problems you have. Make it as awesome as possible
It is crazy how long ago it was when I started painting WH40k miniatures now that I think about it. It was around 2000-2001 😆. Haven´t painted for over a decade now, but it just crossed my mind. I´m loving your channel ❤. Brings back memories 👍
I enjoyed the investigation… I thought for sure you’d found it and it was up next to be painted. Keep looking, or do more along this path of finding the lost miniatures.
the modern conversions prove the idea that a centaur mech IS cool, but looking at the original sculpt i get why maybe people wouldnt think its great (i however love it)
I had some of these. Heck, I might still have some of these somewhere. I have a pretty massive Epic Space Marine army, and had a few units of Eldar for giggles. I actually really like this mini a lot. I might be the only one, but I think they're pretty cool.
I love the idea of the bright stallion ! But the execution well let's just say it didn't aged well hahaha. Cool video as always, keep up the good work !
I had an Epic Eldar army back in the day (I am 58 now!), but I did not field these as i didn't like them or the other versions. I had the Eldar Titans that were so cool, but kept wanting to fall over as they were all metal. The old Epic was such an awesome game so thanks for the memories.👍👍😉
Gona be honest, for an ancient model the bright horsey looks pretty awesome. Great concept also, all our fastest land animals have 4 legs why wouldn't a space alien.
I went to games day 92 and there were quite a few conversions where people had made warlock and phantom titans into 4 legged centaur eldar titans. They were awesome.
I would love to see you redesign this model- heck even all the aeldari knights and exodites. I would love to do it one day- planning on doing using lumineth models as the basis as they look like they take pride on their smith skills. The spirit of the mountain figures could be made into cool knights. And iv swear ive seen someone photobash the destruction centaur guy with lumineth armour plates- could be a good model for the bright stallion. I know what you mean though. All centaurs look a little durpy. Their weight does seem well distributed.
AS someone that has played since 2nd edition, I have never seen this model and it is glorious. This would tempt me to play Eldar more than almost anything else.
I can definitely see what they were going for. A knight that is like a centaur because they are elves. But I think that mini was a case of “go back and do it again”.
If you could get ahold of the mini it would be cool to see a community build to make it more eldar like and give it a 2024 spin on what it could look like, with modern ideas and talent it would be interesting to watch. It would be a quite literally "fixing everything wrong with the mini" video as well as a new paint scheme!
BAHAHA! I remember when this thing came out. My fiancé had some Eldar titans, but neither of us had much money at the time, so this guy didn't end up in the collection. The "my little pony" description is spot on LOL
I've seen an Armorcast Bright Stallion, btw. I used to game with the owner of "ForgeryWorld", the first "Forge World" (not the company you know and love today) and there was a huge hubaloo over licensing rights and "recasting" which you mentioned briefly in the video..."ForgeryWorld" never produced any of the Bright Stallions of their own. But if you've ever seen Armorcast Titans branded "Forge World", that's what's up.
I'm a lot older than both of you! Just dug through my old WD magazines and found 126. Have you also looked at covering the House Warwick Warden, which looks like K9 from Doctor Who with an added cannon 🙂
I saw the thumbnail and just KNEW that as it looked like a horse, it had to be this weird ass miniature. Epic to see more eldar on this channel, and remember guys : warp spiders turned 30years old lol
Emil, you know what you have to do right? You need to (or need to have someone help you) sculpt a full size 40k rendition of the Bright Stallion and then 3D Print it and then make an epic Titan diorama involving the Bright Stallion - maybe against an Ork Gargant or a Tyranid Bio Titan... Come on Emil... you know I'm tempting you to do it! I'm sure if nothing else Majorkill would want to buy it from you afterwards 😂
It's something that definitely deserves a second chance from GW. I think the original sculpt is a little goofy by modern standards, but I think it's got a lot of potential to be made into something cooler and more slick!
As a kid I loved this line of miniatures, especially the bright stallion as it was the only one not compressed and full of implied motion. Big fan and wish it was resurrected
I love the bright stallion, I had the armorcast towering knight destroyer once upon a time and while it is good it's not great making the weapon mounts separate to the body would greatly improved it , heck I have seen a customized version that someone re positioned the arms and it looked much better , that said I only learned of the said Bright Stallion prototype a few years ago too and was like damn that was such a missed opportunity, I am hoping the good folks at battlecastings may remedy that some time and make a garage kit release of some of the other epic style knights.
Well I do own all three of those Eldar Knights but have huge Epic 40K armies for Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Orks, Squats (yes they are not dead) and Eldar which was my first Epic 40K army. Oh and I have quite a few of those metal Eldar for 40K as well, okay more like nearly 150+ and my Eldar army is nearly all metal.
Real question is what is up with the non-lance arm. But yes I like the Bright Stallion, if you consider how the the rest of the epic stuff was built it has more from than a lot of the other knights. Keep in mind imperial knights at the time where built in mimicry of the Eldar Knights.
Not the worst, but definitely in the top ten. There are a few sisters od battle that supersede this "My Little Pony" of a warhammer model. At least this on was sculpted correctly ya know. Some those sisters.........
Is there any miniature that's more cursed than the my little pony looking robot titan that the bright stallion is?
I built one out of two Wraithknights for full 40k scale. And I am in deep Love with it. Unpainted tho sadly :-(
I mean.... I am sure there is.. But it do sit solid in the top 5 at least.
am I dumb or did you leave a comment 8 hours before uploading?
sigmarines.
1980s pygmy miniatures are pretty cursed
I quite like the Bright Stallion! Definitely better than the derpy ass "Warden" knights waving their rocket launcher butts in the air.
Exactly
Man the original Warden Knight looked like a Mega Man enemy that farts rockets…
@@kassi420 There are three version of the warden(it doesn't deserve a capital) and each is worse that the other two.
