Bobcat, & if you didn’t catch the cat, feathers work good but Try hanging a whole wing from a chicken, Dove, Duck, or small to medium fowl bird about 5 feet off the ground on a tree limb above your trap. And put down feathers around the bait hole, great bobcat set. Use fishing line to hang your wing upside down. Tie the base of the fowl wing 5-6 feet above the trap & on the fishing line about 14 inches above the wing hang a lead deep sea sinker weight. This keeps the fishing line held down and over the trap. The remaining 12-14 inches of line tied to the wing will easily move in the wind. This is a huge Bobcat attractant & then they see the bait hole with down feathers around it. So they’ll come under the wing looking up at the wing or the down feathers & bait hole and step in the trap. Bobcats can’t resist and that wing hypes their curiosity.

Whatever it is, it's got vegetation in it. Can see some sort of berry seeds in it. Not sure if pigs do tootsie roll type poo. It's pretty big if it's hog poo. Could be a bear. I just don't know for sure, would need to take it apart more to see what's in it. Good luck!

Watching from rural South Africa. I have been following your videos for several months now and yesterday I saw the one where you and Brandi sit at the duck park telling us all about you quitting your fulltime job. As a retired psychologist I was struck by both your and Brandi's genuine show of emotion as to what it means to each of you. Sean I know that sharing that video struck a nerve for you. Your decision is a brave one and you and your family are doing so for all the right reasons. God will continue to bless you. That video made me decide to subscribe to your channel. I also watch Brandi's, Lester's and Daniel's channels. may all of your channels continue to grow.

Daddy taught me well. My youngest daughter is the same way! Never see much more than snakes but you never know what might be out there. I hope you get the bobcat. I've had them come on the porch after my kitty. I hope the poop dropper is a cow. lol

A few trapping tips. Set on sign. Tracks, poop, trails. Take one of your dogs along if there is a spot they pee at or really check out, many times a critter has been there too. Use the hollow handle of the hammer to make your dirt hole. Push it down in, twist it and pull it back out. Make that hole deep so the critter really has to work the set to try and get what is in there. Get better anchors. Most guys use either cable or chain earth anchors. I'd bet if you gave a good pull on yours, it will pull right out. Coyotes can pull hard, as well as dig. Check out trapper J. He is a pro at nailing yotes and cats. Good luck!

If the critter in the cave is a bear please remember that even when a bear hibernates it's Not asleep. Have you checked recently for any possible evidence that a bear could be at the Creek property. I know in the early days it was definitely a possibility that you had a bear there. That big manure pile is too big to be a hog or a big cat. I don't think it would be a big buck either.

I would do half Power half grid. Use the power while you can because you never know what tomorrow is going to bring. The way our world is going. At least you'll have already a set up to run off grid if you need to ! In the meantime use all resources available to you for the moment!
Back in Upstate New York, where I came from, we had electricity. We had an electric. But we also had a wood cook stove. Our furnace was Coal and wood. Which mostly we burnt wood! If the power went. We had gravity heat. And our wood cook stove! Plus our fireplaces in different rooms ! We ran well water ! Chorus if the power went out, the pump did not run. We did not have generators back in the day !
But if the electricity went out, especially during the winter time! We melted snow, on the wood cook stove! To do dishes, mop floors if necessary. Flush toilet - or even sponge baths. Lol or if you're feeling really eager, boil water for the bathtub, if the power was out any certain length of time ! We always had bottled water on hand from our well in case of emergencies.
All in all basically all we had to spend money on. Was the power bill. And at the beginning of the winter months a load of coal. Otherwise every January we went down and cut down trees. And let them season for two years ! And of course our taxes ! Bought food occasionally at the store other than that we had our garden and livestock !
So it doesn't hurt to run power, For now ! Use what you can while you can ! I'm glad you got the water running into your homestead, in case you need it !
I know when our power went out up there and we had to. Reprime the pump with water, to get it up and running again every time that power went out ! The only thing missing up there at the time what we needed was generators. Then I could say everything would have been perfect 😁 👏👏👏
    Doing a Good Job !
I moved down here in 1984 to Oklahoma.. I do not regret it ❤

Hey Dutch, you know you’re doing the right thing by taking out the predators and increasing the possibility of a better deer herd in the area as long as there’s no poaching and also seeing if you can get that bobcat out of there, because the deer will be scarce knowing that the predator is in the areayes Houston did get a coyote that I know of and there were three possums and seven or eight raccoons he’s doing OK that’s not bad he’s learning fast❤❤❤❤❤❤

Horse and cow poop don't look anything alike. Cows make "plops" because they ruminate and chew everything down to just a runny mess. Horses make bigger turds with lots of grass and straw mixed in it because of the way their stomach works. To me, that looked kind of like pig poop because it can be kind of runny and then stick together after the fact.
