We Caught A Giant One In The Coyote Trap & Its Ticked Off

- So we set out some traps trying to catch some coyotes and bobcats but what we caught was unexpected. It's the biggest one I have seen and it's not happy with us. Doing some predator control at the creek property has Hadlee and I getting to learn a new skill together.

You got a good chauffer...way to go HADLEY❤❤❤❤
Wow, the look on Hadley's face tells it all! She's doing well, navigating that vehicle, Dad.
You do realize that you released the number one destroyer of turkeys, ducks, quail and many many other nesting birds.
Agree with you 💯 %. All other s I watch dispatch them.
Agree !
That's a big raccoon. Good luck catching the bobcat and cyote. Just be careful out there. GOD bless Y'all.
Hadlee you are becoming a good driver ❤, you will be a great help for your Dad, keep up the good work 👍❤❤
Love your Chauffer! She is growing up so fast!
Hadlee, you are such a great driver. You will be a big help to your Dad. I can't believe the big trees that beavers have taken down. Stay safe. Blessings to you all. ❤
Hadlee is a good driver 👌 ❤
Well it’s nice seeing Hadlee driving the side by side how long you been driving it.
Good Evening Sean & Hadlee! Be careful…
Think the girls are really gonna enjoy the beavers!👍👍
Hadley is a good help. So is Cody. Hard work Dutch. Hope you get something good. Stay safe.
Good evening from Syracuse NY everyone thank you for sharing your adventures and your farm
That is one smart coyote,to dig a trap up twice. Well all I can say is keep on keeping on no telling what y’all will catch. God Bless love❤️👵🏻
You might need to set that trap for the bobcat with a hair trigger. Watch Houston setting a trap and see how he makes it a hair trigger.
We always used a can lid (cd will work too)and put a hole in it and hung it above the trap about 3 foot to 3 and a half. It's a toy... cat's come to it. It shines and moves. Just a thought on how we do it.
Love your videos and enjoy watching them. May the lord bless and protect you and Hadley at private property dispatch it they carry rabies
By the way my dad was once a trapper he used to boil his traps in lye water they turn them black and one wouldnt have to over them up with leaves or dirt the color would be rustic looking same color as the ground you are in. just so you know ok.
❤❤❤❤ Great Job.
Hi Dutch and Hadlee Need to take it [UT so it doesn't kill turkeys by eating turkey eggs. Love watching your videos. God bless and love yall ❤❤
Seems like Hadlee grew up overnight into a beautiful young lady.
Hadley Is Driving-Thanks For Sharing That Milestone!!!.....
That raccoon WAS ‘Mama Humungous’!!!
Glad you taught her a Lesson she Needed to know...
Quite a bit of wildlife you’ve got, over there-Wow!!!
⚪️
🙂
Hadlee driving that side by side like a pro. Nice job!
WOW! 😱 That was one big raccoon!!!! 😳
Can't wait to see you get camera footage of the beaver! That's gonna be so cool!
Fun video. God bless.😊
Might be the Same Beaver that Daniel has been seeing on his Creek with a Coyote Hunting it
That raccoon has probably gotten large from eating turkey, quail, and duck eggs, along with crayfish or crawdads from the creek. I know it was only one, but how many more are there destroying birds nests. Should have said goodnight to it.
Agree 💯 %
And make a hat out of it for Hadley lol.
Staying tuned...❤😂
Looks like a good Bobcat set & if it don’t work for ya, try hanging a wing like I mentioned in my comment in the last video as an attractant with some fowl down feathers. Best of luck 👍🏼
Or hang something shiny! A old CD hanging in the breeze is a great attractant! And dont be afraid to set a trap where the coon tore it up! That’s a natural attractant too
I like the longer videos.
I would love to see a video of a coyote digging out a trap, that would be some great content. They must be pretty smart. It’s like they are telling you, hey I know what you’re doing 😂 good luck 🙏
Dutch if I was you I’d set traps up at the base of a big fresh trees the beavers are working on and put it back with leaves and make it look as natural again as U can. Catch them Beaver or they’ll eventually flood that whole valley and destroy many acres of your land. I had a friend named Clinton who’s dead now but 25 years ago he had 90 acres of prime hunting land covered in Oak & Ash trees on the east coast. His land was 3 hours away from his home & he didn’t go hunting for 2 years & when he went back to start hunting to his surprise the beaver had put 35 acres along his creeks of his 90 acres totally underwater! With Permits It took him and a few of our friends traveling on weekends 2 solid years to dynamite all the beaver dams and lodges & trap out the beaver. Not to mention the tens of thousands of dollars worth in Big Lumber Trees they destroyed he lost. Yeah you got a situation on your hands that’s only gonna get worse if you leave it unhandled.
For cats put some flagging up in a tree close to the trap. A CD, tinsle, anything that will catch its attention from a distance. Also for a bobcat cubby really brush it in. Like you did for the box traps. Coyotes won't go in it but bobcats don't care. They will be curious and check it out.
Your girls are growing up so fast!
Get ‘em Dutch !!! This is better than Wild America on PBS. 😂🤩
Hi Sean. Great driving Hadley. That beaver was certainly busy chomping down trees. Hopefully won’t do too much damage long term. Have a great day take care God bless 💕🙏🦫
I really admire hunters like you. I was also a hunter but unfortunately was shot by a double. I hope that you will always be healthy and be more careful in your next hunts. thank you
Maybe instead of leaving bare ground after setting traps, you could sprinkle dead leaves over the ground over the trap? Also, I watched Brandons nephew teaching Leighton and Brandon about trapping and he used plain polyester fiberfill instead of wool and you can get a bag of it at Walmart pretty cheaply. I hope the trapping works soon!
They did cover it up
My brother-in-law and I always first boiled the traps then dyed them and we never had a problem with them getting dug up
I remember the black wolf that was chasing the kids on the Gocart.. But the German Sheppard made a sprint and saved them....I love that video...
Racoons are killing off a lot of ground nesting game birds, turkeys pheasant, quail. Also tree nesting birds.Dispatch all you catch .!!
trapping is fun and also take up a lot of time and money and gas. you can also boil the traps to take off the scent. be bless. SAVANNAH TN.
Super video! It's very interesting.😊❤👍✝
Wear sent controlling gloves when touching anything around your trap also chest waders when kneeling around your trap set. Use fox urine for coyotes. Like how a dog marks a area coyotes don’t like foxes so they will try to mark over it. Use two or three traps per set helps.
When you set a trap it seems to me it would be good to cover the fresh wet dirt showing, like maybe a few leaves crumble them a bit and just let the leaf crumbs drop down on the dirt. In daylight it just catches the eye
Good luck, getting the bob cats and Coyotes be careful and stay safe. God bless the family.
I hope you catch what causing problems on your creek property just stay safe and the girls stay safe i can't wait to see what you catch next take care stay warm and God bless.
Great video thanks. Chris from England
Dutch, use some wax paper over the top of your trap's plus cover them with some death leave's over the ground that you have put the congratulation on the raccoon catch, may you better luck next time round.. Hadley is becoming a good driver. David B., Utah. ♥♥♥.
I used to know a government trapper and he boiled his traps to get the scent off and never handled them with bare hands.
Thanks for your sharing. Good luck on your trapping.
Good evening Dutch family from the Winze family in Hutchinson Kansas. Our state was on lock down yesterday due to heavy winter storm that dumped snow all across the state and closed all roadways
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO DUTCH 😊
That is one big, healthy raccoon. Interesting video. Hadlee is so pretty and growing up fast. 💞
Great video!
Lot of people in my area will always wear latex gloves. So there’s no scent left on anything. They always do the whole scent control as would for deer season. It’s just an added measure to help
Good driving, Hadley
Hadley did a great job driving! That was a surprise to see the evidence of beavers. I'm staying tuned.
Good evening from Virginia Happy New Years
Well I was wrong about the storm the other day but the one between Friday and next Monday is going to be something you should watch and I should too and I live in northwest Arkansas I love your videos
Seems just about everyone in the comments knows something about traps and or trapping! ❣❤❤❤❤❤❣
Wow Dutch your are fortunate to have a chauffeur. Great job Hadley!
Great video❤❤
Hope of get them bobcats and coyotes soon. Please keep Lester and Jami in prayer. She got kicked in the face by her horse and had to have emergency surgery. Her jaw is broken and had to be wired shut. Prayer for a touch from the Lord. - Sue Sweeten in AZ
👏yall are my discovery channel 😊 new adventure every time. God bless 🙏
💖❤💘💝💓I love watching your videos, thank you for sharing and have a great day!
Hes been eating the corn and stuff you put out for the deer. 😊 Be careful letting him go it may try to bite and may have rabies. 😮
Hope you kept that stick! May need to use it again!
Hadlees doing really well at driving the trails.
Im a newbie from Eddy Family Farm. I hear Brandon talk about your channel so I had to check you all out. Im an animal rescuer domestic and wild. When you released the raccoonit melted my heart. I heard you say because its not near your house or the farm. It probably was pregnant. Mating season is Jan-Mar
Hi guy love the show * my brother used to boil his new traps the put them in waxs
❤❤❤❤❤
I know in Wisconsin, racoons carry all kinds of diseases
You could cover them with leaves instead of dirt thats what my dad use to do back in the days
Hi 👋
Hello Dutch and family
If its being dug up and not going off your set has too much packed dirt on it and its getting under the spring you need to cover it with wax paper before putting dirt over it so dirt doesn't get under the spring
I’ve seen a trapper use a cd hanging in the brush above the trap
Cant wait to see if you catch anything
Love you guys HERVEY BAY QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA
❤
Beaver meat is great coyote bait......just saying. Loins are good fried up in a skillet. Best of luck and have fun. Love how you are raising your kids.
Told ya! If you wax those traps they can't smell it! Most times critters will throw it to the side. 💯
Expecting more snow again tomorrow night thru Saturday plus artic blast of cold air and wind chill creating single digits to negative digits also
I know I'm saying a lot of things but it's just a suggestion I like to help people out with the trapping I have a lot of knowledge but I can't do much anymore because I'm disabled you should always use gloves to keep your sent off your sets if I'm bothering you please let me know because I'm just trying to help
It's mice to see Hadlee wanting to drive you. She does a nice job👍.
Dang that stinks that It's on to you🤔.
They were good sets too!
You should wear gloves to keep your scent off of them also.
If you havent checked out Trapper J, he teaches as he goes.
Good luck.
JO JO IN VT 💞
I noticed Brandy giving Gunner grapes reading grapes are good for dogs
Scent is the most important thing. You don't want them to smell the trap. Or you.
They are smart animals it more then likely went on the side and pulled it out KEEP ON KEEPIN ON TRAPPING 💜✝️💜
I’ve never trapped but it sure looks fun. It’s the anticipation of out smarting your targeted species. Jeremy Cooley has some great trapping videos here on TH-cam. Maybe watch his videos with the girls to get more knowledge on trapping. He hasn’t uploaded any videos for this year yet. But he gives good advice on how to setup traps for Coyotes and Bobcats. Plus snares for coyotes
Hope your work works out for you ...stay safe
New subscriber here happy trapping 💯🇺🇸
Hey Shaun do you have that recipe for the fried rice? I think it’s shrimp maybe? I made it a while back from your “Dutch eats” could you share that recipe again? Thank you! Nikki - Ohio
use rebar to set the traps deeper it will keep them from digging them up
i use to trap years ago and would dip the traps in a wax solution
Im so happy that Hadlee is running with her Dad. She's going to remember this for a lifetime. She can tell her kids and her kids kids and her kids, her kids kids kids Once again congratulations Hadlee on your hunt
Check out the trapping books by Milligan. Fox cyote, and bobcat.
Too early in general for raccoons to be visibly pregnant. They usually have their kits march to april. You can simply boil new traps ( after degreasing) then when dry store in nice smelling fresh timothy hay in a bin. Or you can prep them starting in summer. Let them rust with an even coat, then dye in a boiling pot with logwood or walnut hulls. Then hang them to dry, next day they should be dry, then you can wax them. Use white paraffin, and I suggest using a double boiler to heat it for safety reasons. Heat till it is no longer white at all. Dip them in until they come clear looking, then pull them out and hang to dry. Next day clean the dog and pan notch of the wax. Also you need to use drags on long chains or cable stakes to hold coyotes, whatever those you are using a yote will pull it right out and be gone. Bobcat too. And letting the raccoon go? Do you know how many wild turkeys and their eggs they eat? I have never seen any of your videos showing big flocks of turkeys. I think some trail cam of a couple or a lone hen. Turkey will help with the ticks, good to have a large bunch around.
A catch pole is a life saver I made one myself work good for me. And that caven yodel works good in my area💯🇺🇸👍
Tannerite is the most fun way of bunker busting.
Hello there Dutch I have seen other trapper videos they hang up a feather or CD disc up in a tree or Bush it attract them
The most important thing everyone is safe
❤❤❤❤❤God bless
