Despite their insidious yet dark historical past, it is clear that these advanced nations like the US and Japan are capable of upgrading our on-the-ground soldiers and training them to be as more effective military units as they are. Now with the former super-power, Spain is known for their biggest warships or “Armadas” during the 1800’s, and we’re hopeful that this would uplift our military might and gradually rise against the “Bully” of the entire Asia-Pacific region. Filipino literacy rate is about 98% with over 80% graduating from high school. Unfortunately their pay for the military is low. From USD500 for a junior enlisted to USD800 monthly for a senior enlisted. Officers get a significantly higher pay rate. Hopefully corruption doesn’t lead them to the Ruzzian model. Finally let me say I love the Philippines and it’s people. I lived there earlier in my life and it was one of the best times I’ve ever had.
