    Very timely lesson. It seems NT Wright often illuminates something I’m currently working through; in this case the fine commentary on 1Corinthians by Dr. Gordon Fee, who 3 months ago I’d never heard of. These two prodigious minds are part of my seminary! God bless these ‘mighty men of David’!

    The church was sliding like most of the western churches of our day. Paul in a loving skillful way sent correction and prayed they would be convicted and repent, otherwise, people whom he loved would wax worse and God forbid, be lost. In the second letter he joyed in hearing they repented and pressed on to say in a sense, you've done well so now deal with these things also.
    No repentance, no hope. Maranatha.
