Nooooooooo, it can't be the finale. This serie is too good to be over. You know objectively I think with clear and relaxed mind - and I mean by that not after 8 hours of twitch streaming - Hikaru can push the rating up to 2600. Ultimately, this serie is that the people really want. Hikaru said too that this speedrun is his favourite.
To push beyond 2500 i believe he would need to start taking this seriously to the point of having some preparstion snd knowing the best lines for the botez I mean stockfish won with botez gambit against hikaru bot so in theory its possible
"This will be my proudest accomplishment" -Hikaru on 2500 Elo on the Botez Gambit. Good job we're all proud of you, thanks for the content. That last game was beyond a nail biter.
This is amazing! 2500 and giving your queen every game. It really gives me a better perspective of how much better he is than me. I used to think given queen odds I could beat even the best chess players. How sadly mistaken I used to be.
@@worldpeace4500 i believe the speedrun when hikaru started was a fresh concept and he tried it whichever way without a full plan. Aman started his speedrun much later and watched lots of Hikaru's, so he had ample time to come up with a properly planned speedrun. i'd be impressed if Aman did his speedrun to 2500 because that would accomplish what Hikaru thought was implausible. cause otherwise, i'm gonna assume hikaru can do the same if he had the same rules.
@@worldpeace4500 Aman did it in Bullet, though, right? And until 2000. Huge difference. In bullet, GMs can probably crush up to 1500-1800s without half their pieces, not just the queen. 1500s in Bullet literally cannot finish their games if the position is a little bit less obvious or familiar. Also if the entire game would require 40-50+ moves or so.. just impossible at this level in bullet, unless they are some obvious end game pawn pushing moves and what not. I'm about 1700 in bullet, and i can tell you from experience :D I sometimes lose games at which i'm crushing on position with +15 but my opponent focuses on defense, complicating the position and moving really fast - and I end up losing on time. It doesn't happen too often but it happens.. I can only imagine what a GM would do to someone like me...
Happy 1st Of August, Hikaru. Also, Congratulations on the glorious victory reaching 2500 Grandmaster level with every game using the Botez Gambit as a Speedrun format! Legendary content!!!
I know you're a Super GM, but this is just absolutely INSANE! I thought there was no way you could go past the 2000 mark when you first started this series!
This was amazing, Hikaru. I`ve been watching it since day 1 and it helped me get through some difficult times. You`re a funny streamer. Thank you and congratulations for the achievement!
as someone who used to play with no queen all the time, I like that. used to teach my friends and play randos by giving them a handicap of bishop/rook/queen depending on their level of play. giving more or giving less till the game felt balanced. I can no longer play like that as I took a decade break from the game and I now SUCK. but used to be pretty darn close to a decent player and had some encounters and close games against high rated players and someone I think was an IM candidate(probably as there are not enough GMs from my country to meet some of them randomly on a military base he was going for one of those thingies you need to do to get the title soon after and didn't play against me ever again) at the time even though I never played ranked myself. I lost against that guy(twice IIRC, one as a normal game and one as a requested opening by me), had a bad opening on both(asked to play the 4 knights as I NEVER got to play it against a non-computer opponent, and after saying "yes" I got backstabbed after the first bishop hit the field preventing the completion of the opening that was already a winning opening for him if he played it to the end), he had no obvious blunders I could exploit later on and eventually lost on my own blunders. btw, I only knew he was a "strong chess player" at the time as I was a notoriously annoying chess player. playing everyone with weird handicaps and still rarely ever losing or drawing(though I blundered a LOT). and after the game they told me he was an internationally ranked player on his way to a title but I'm not sure which one.
to clarify - it was a revenge by my friends for all the hellish games of "I play with no queen" or was it the one "I play with no queen and with only 1 rook"? never mind losing those odds got on their nerves and they wanted to see me lose to someone. joke on them I would've played against him even if I DID know he was who he was and was only hurt by him lying about letting me get that 4knights game I wanted.(still never played it against a human player)
I find it difficult to absorb achievements too. You spend so much time trying to get there and then once you're there you're relieved but you don't feel very different. You're still the same person.
i watch too much hikaru and i start playing like garbage because of how easy he makes it look. i already play like garbage, i just mean i play like even stinkier garbage

There is a discovered attack on the queen..hence winning the knight and the game..hikaru has 3 pieces for the queen so he should be able to convert easily
Quick question is there a rule that he gives himself about how many moves he has to sacrifice the queen? It seems like he does it within the first 10 moves every time.
He does to keep it interesting. But also it's best to do it early when he can control what happens in the opeening, if too many trades happen or he gives the queen in the wrong way, he could loose easily. In this way, he can decide how to arrange the pawns or get nto a position which he can play better.
The move e5 attacks the white knight on f4 and it also opens up a line of sight for the bishop on d7 to attack the white queen on h3, so both the knight and queen are under attack at the same time, i.e. it's a fork. The queen is the more valuable piece, so the opponent should move the queen, but even if they move the queen, they still lose the knight for at most a pawn. Also, you might think that the queen can just take the bishop on d7 and then after white takes the knight, it's basically like Hikaru traded the bishop for the knight. But actually, the bishop is defended by the black knight on f6, so if the queen takes the bishop, then Hikaru can take the queen with his knight so he gets a queen for a bishop.
@@NobleMushtak Thanks for your reply. I saw the fork, but didn't understand why the opponent resigned right away. I mean obviously the knight is lost, and white is in a bad position, but didn't understand the resign right away. Thought there was something that I was missing beyond pawn takes knight
