every 500-1000 km chain need lube.otherwise spocket damage and sound occur.all 150cc above vehicles with 140mm tyre have only 10000km mileage for chain and spocket.its normal.I am using hornet for past 1.5 yrs.I have no problem about chain.I replace chain spocket after 14000km.sudden acceleration cause loose and sound in chain

I am using this bike from December 2017 apart from chain and little engine noise. But the way you are saying about your bike is only work your bike and am sorry for it.Better check your bike completely! My bike is best and smooth no problem yet 😬. Happy riding.
I do agree with the chain issues. But mileage depends on how you ride and other issues will be resolved by changing the service centre I guess (my problems was resolved like that). 115kmph and no vibrations noticed
The noise is not really from the chain. It is from a plate welded onto the chain sprocket. I am planning to get it removed. Biggest issue is the weird gearing of the bike. Had heating problems when the bike was new. Now it is fine. Use Motul or shell synthetic oil and junk the honda mineral oil. Do not change oil at SVCs.
My hornet is 2016 model Blue, no problems at all except the front wheel alignment but that's not major issue. Even today i get 50+ Mileage and my bike is smooth. Maintainence depends on your riding style
Same problem. Handle goes left and right. Can't balance. Seems to be like back tyre or Hande problem. Service centre guys unable to find out issue and didn't resolved even after 4 service.
Hi guys, after watching the video and comments i suggest you following. 1. For chain set issues clean and lube chain every 5000kms but at the same CHECK WHEEL ALIGNMENT. if you miss wheel alignment sprocket will wear faster and bike will disbalance. 2. Kick that honda oil and start using motul oil may 5100 or 7100 as per your grade. It will reduce vibrations and also keep engine cool than stock oils. I thought only Bajaj got such kind of problems and Honda is amazing. I was thinking to buy hornet but ended up with ns160. Take care of your bike and it will take care of you.

DS vlogs check the wheel alignment. This might be the problem. Even when I had my first servicing done that time also wheel alignment was wrong. These service center peoples are looking for money only not customers satisfaction.
DS vlogs you must know how to adjust the wheel alignment when chain is tightened. Google it you will get to know. Or check the grooves on both the sides wheel axel. They must be same on both the side. Hope this solves your problem.
I too had the problem with sprocket, then I changed it as the teeths were all wored up. Just after 7000-8000 kms. And also my horn problem is identical to yours. I don't know, it just went dead. If you get any solution let me know. Their is one more problem with hornet, i.e., "The headlights" In the night riding the headlights are not bright enough to see the roads. Any body having any resolution to brighten the lights, let me know, as I am thinking of installing some aftermarket foglamps.

Sorry bro. May be your service centre is bad. Only your 2nd issue is correct. Chain sprocket issue is there. I have changed it by 16k kms. I bought my Hornet on Jan 2016. No major issues till date. In between got an accident ( a scooty girl came n hit). Then I didn't get any spare parts for almost 1 and half months. Then initial starting trouble was there. Battery was down. But after that no battery issues or horn issues till date. And as u mentioned there was a rattling sound from front tyre. I gave it for service and they changed brake pad. Then issue solved. One main issue is paintings are lost and its rusting in few areas. (Petrol tank lock, its screws, near honda logo at handle bar clip, back, back seat handle etc etc.
M also facing the problem of con set ...They replaced at last service... One month before...But still getting that tak tak noise while front braking...
Good to know few issues from you try to fix it asap from Honda specially the manufacturing defect of cone set as you mentioned in this video. Ride safe ✌✌

same i shared with honda...even i own unicorn first model which is 10 years old also it was only kick start model....it still run like horse...as a reply honda said "previously honda parts were imported frm japan now its made in india". which is nt as reliable as compared to the parts which used to come frm japan...
chain sprocket is definitely a problem.. i think its common across all the bikes. mileage, horn and vibrations... i havent faced them.. only chain.. they said they will get the chain right.. but they couldnt.. this causes a problem while shifting down..
chain problem is actually the biggest problem, secondly is the braking problem, the sound that comes, third i have changed my brake pads twice in 18000kms, Good part is, the mileage, getting around 40-42, and must say the bulid quality is too good, even the wheels are strong, i bumped into short divider at 75-80 kmph, and thot the wheels would have cracked, bt everything was fine

Yaduvanshi Saksham I have SF ABS 2018. So far excellent. Normal Gixxer is also good. Buy hornet only if you want a flatter seat. Hornet is inferior in every other aspect.
It seems that Honda is not concerned about the problems with their products as it has now established itself well in India. If you go to them with a problem, they further worsen the same so that you feel, my bike was better off before. I highlighted them the problem about my bikes mileage, they increased the speed of the engine and the mileage dropped further. Then when I spoke to them, they say the previous setting was ideal for my bike. Hence one doesn't dare highlight the problems faced to them. Else they will further spoil your bike. They just expect you to keep paying them money even during the free services and AMC.
i am facing similar problems as you are facing,like after applying front brakes that "kutkutkut" sound.....seat is kind of loose which makes noise. and vibration after around 20 km ride in traffic.
I have engine vibration problem. I can feel the vibrations on my handle bar. Is it common or it is me only. The bike finds hard to rev above 80kmph just forget about 100 kmph
Bro, I am facing similar issues with my hornet... Handling is off sometimes, while braking hard the front tyre wobbles a bit to left and bike always goes left if not restrained... Chain gets loose after every 2000 km or so and my sprocket is already worn off... There is back wheel alignment issue and horn as urs sumtym works and sumtym doesn't... Rest average is 35-40 kmpl...I'm an aggressive rider
Bhai Glad to know the problems in your Bike. Did the Service Centre replace Your Battery? One of my friends bought RE Interceptor 650. After few days his Bike would not start. It was towed away to the Service Centre and found that the Battery was defective and replaced. Your Cone bearing is bad, You should get it replaced ASAP. This is a common problem in all bikes. Problem depends on Road condition and Driving habit. You are getting very low mileage? Curburator cleaning and tuning to be done. Your Horn needs to be set properly. About the Chain it needs to be lubricated frequently with thick oil like SAE90. Chain sprocket life is 10000 km. I bought a Honda Hornet about a month back. Wish me good luck. Thanks.
I ve found the conset issue in many our bikes bro. I too own a hornet n mine too ld go to left side if hands are removed from the handle 😅😅.. but that's not an issue for me !! I just love this bike 😊. It's pretty much reliable bike for me.
ita been 3 years and 17k kms on my gixxer, but i never had to tighten up the chain, average is little bit down, but rest is all great. i sold my honda trigger just after 5 months because of many problems, honda give subpar quality products in India
Problem I am facing... When I apply rear disc brake some kinda noice... Kr... Krrrr.... Coming.... I have noticed this to service centre but nothing changed. The washing centre wala said its due to mud or soil particles that make this noice when they traped between disc... I don't know but its still coming and it's irritates many times

My new hornet 160r has the following problems 1) timing chain noise ( service centre is still making fool of me by not solving the problem for me ) 2) chain ( gets loose every 200 - 300 km) 3) very rough engine , vibrations at 57-64 km ( dont know why ) Btw Nice video 👍
aron x i spoke with the ppl in service center....the problem is all bcz of the fat tyre and the small sprocket which couldnt handle the fat tyre for longer riding KM.....

Pathetic service and under knowledged mechanics . I have almost all the mentioned issues with my bike and also the loud metal knocking sound from the engine and I found multiple videos with this complaint. Service guys made me fool multiple times as they themselves have no solutions on this. Guys let's unite and file a consumer case against Honda I think we will easily end up having 1000 people on our side.
Asish Ashutosh starting problem may b because of weak battery ...try to start using kick start...if it gets start with the kick then there is problem with the battry ....go and get it checked with the service center

Six months completed with hornet,only issue is related with gear shift problems...Rest r best,,nice mileage as well...

If I talk about Vibration I felt after 25000 km ..specifically the vibration becomes aggressive after 6000 rpm

Problem I am facing... When I apply rear disc brake some kinda noice... Kr... Krrrr.... Coming.... I have noticed this to service centre but nothing changed. The washing centre wala said its due to mud or soil particles that make this noice when they traped between disc... I don't know but its still coming and it's irritates many times

Seems like u got a defective bike,yaa i agree with the chain sproket issue,but rest,mileage is all ok about 50kmpl, vibration? Oh c'mon! I don't feel any vibrations even at 100kmph

My new hornet 160r has the following problems
1) timing chain noise ( service centre is still making fool of me by not solving the problem for me )
2) chain ( gets loose every 200 - 300 km)
3) very rough engine , vibrations at 57-64 km ( dont know why )

xbhp pe chain noise ka permanent solution diya hai ..check that out... aur chain lube kro every week and chain clean kro every month.
Ankit kumar its not driving chain . noise coming from engine timing chain . that is the problem. Sound is like tappet noise
aron x i spoke with the ppl in service center....the problem is all bcz of the fat tyre and the small sprocket which couldnt handle the fat tyre for longer riding KM.....
exactly at 60 it will vibrate

Pathetic service and under knowledged mechanics . I have almost all the mentioned issues with my bike and also the loud metal knocking sound from the engine and I found multiple videos with this complaint. Service guys made me fool multiple times as they themselves have no solutions on this. Guys let's unite and file a consumer case against Honda I think we will easily end up having 1000 people on our side.

Asish Ashutosh starting problem may b because of weak battery ...try to start using kick start...if it gets start with the kick then there is problem with the battry ....go and get it checked with the service center

.......engineers ne ye tires soch samaj karhi diye honge no doubt...

but, mere dosto ne 2 new hornet li hai...15 din hue bus..or ye same prob. face kar. rahe hai....

3) turn lete waqt gadi unbalance ho jati hai.
4) turning radius kum hai.

That can be resolved with good experience mechanic, change your T with coneset.
