    i was looking for a way to make a bag without birthing the bag. It was very easy to do, and I especially love the outer boxed triangles. I also added an extra step by pressing the fold at the top of the outer and inner lining; which made for an even edge.

    Thank you so much for sharing your design for a reusable gift bag. Made six of these for my friends several years ago and I think they liked the cute bags as much as the gift if not more. They are still using them. God bless.

      haha right? i just dont get it... like is it they dont like the fabric? would they have made the bag differently? it makes no sense why n e one would dislike a craft video lol its not like i have opinions or complaining about something im just making an item and showing people how i did it! lol o well at the end of the day a Dislike is actually just as good as a like according to the youtube algorithm so it doesnt bother me anymore haha i just say aww thanks!!

    Cute! Aside from the fabric, why is this considered a gift bag? To me that is something that I would not expect to last long but this seems just as sturdy as any bag & the lining makes it look very finished. I’m still learning so Im wondering if there’s something about this construction method that is not so sturdy? I’m looking forward to trying it though & greatly appreciate the wonderful tutorial!

    Hi I have made a plain green one of these bags and it was very easy and loved making it. I have a little question though as a beginner sewer. I tried to do it with lambs and chicks material & 1 side was great but the other side all the chicks and lambs were upside down is there something I am doing wrong or is there a way to fix this. Thanks so much.

      you will need make the outer of the bag with two pieces rather then one large piece, cut out the measured bag size but add 1/2" then cut it in half, sew back together with a 1/4" seam allowance but flip the one side so it will be the right way once constructed. you can then keep the lining the same size as is in the measurements and then finish contructioning. hopefully that makes sense and you can use this technique for any other bags you make with directional fabric. Good luck!!

    I found your website before this and it says to cut two outside and two inside, but on this video you only use one, so why does it say to cut two?

    • @Charmedbyashley
      @Charmedbyashley  ปีที่แล้ว

      it says to cut into 2 only if you are using a directional fabric, if you use 1 cut with a directional fabric there will be one side that has your pattern upside down so if you wanted to avoid that then you will cut your piece in half, flip the one half and then sew back together. if its not directional then you can avoid this step all together. Hope that helps!!

    • @Charmedbyashley
      @Charmedbyashley  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can for sure do the way I did it on the lining for the outside of the bag, I was trying to show a second way of doing this type of corner. So it's up to you which way you want to do it :)
