Hi everyone. I recently bought one of these as a budget guitar to modify. It's very lightweight and comfortable. After new strings and a set up i decided it's too good to modify! I love it stock! I had to buy another Stratocaster to modify lol 😄
Bought a solid blue JT last weekend. Been playing acoustic for a few years so this is my first electric. Finding it hard to put it down. Was able to get it off Kijiji for $60. Best $$ I have spent in a while.
Both have ceramic pickups. The jay tursers used to have (circa 2014) higher output, not sure if the new affinity's pickups are hotter now. Some of the new squires with 2 humbuckers have 3 piece necks which are nicer then the one piece tursers IMO. (one piece neck isn't a bad thing but you don't wanna have it resting on the wall or in cold weather)The basswood turser is lighter then the alder strats (check to see which strat you are getting body wise) If you are a young thrasher you might chip a basswood body which is less dense then alder. The wood won't effect tone.
Hi, I've been looking into buying Jay turser guitars and stumbled upon your video. Really cool playing and review, I am curious about the rig you used for this sound, what amplifier and pedals did you use?
Thanks for the kind words. Not using any pedals. Just running strait into a Backstair HT Club 40 amp on the more vintage style overdrive channel set to a Marshell type crunch setting.
i got blessed with my jt mine is maple and rosewood neck with birdseye figuring and mine has a birds eye figured maple body and it was made in usa its a rare turser im never letting her go
Some sources say these have alder bodies. Another source says basswood/alder. Wtf. Yet to see a source that say only basswood. Either way the guitar does seem to be a wolf in sheeps clothing being sold in department stores. 🤜🏻

I'm liking this guitar. What's the wood in the body?
sounds good
Is the guitar good for funky/clean music?
It's a stray so yes.
Very Cool man .
Nice T shirt.

I think mine is basswood. It doesn't seem dense enough to be alder. Very lively with a strat tone. Equal or better than many squires.
awesome bro.. thanks for taking time to upload. check out reverbnation.com/Jimmy giant
you should run 3 springs straight
James Hewitt I actually wound up adding a 4th spring. Although I have since sold this guitar.
