The j12 has to be removed to allow the ecu to data log, so it's not essential to the regular operation of the ecu. Since it's not essential and it's a 0 resistance contact I used it as a jumper. It's a oem component and looks better than a wire jumper, so that's the reason I used it.
Good question! I had to look that ecu up because i wasn't familiar with it. Unfortunately it seems the P3G ecu is an obd2 ecu, and can't be converted from auto to manual in the same way as the obd1 ecus. You might want to look into buying a jumper harness and chipping/ tuning an obd1 non-vtec ecu like a p06, or p75. Hopefully that will help you out, and you'll consider subscribing to the channel.
Thank you for the video really solved a lot of problems
You're very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
If I don't remove j12 the Ecu doesn't work in manual? Mine is a p06a51

I have a obd2 from 1997 integra. Could that ecu be converted to manual from automatic.
I suppose it's possible to convert an obd2 ecu auto to manual, but unfortunately I don't know how to do it.
What makes you use the resistor vs thr wire? I’d it because it looks cleaner or more safe?
Because it looks factory done vs. an afterthought, but it does the same exact thing as long as it's a 0-Ohm resistor.
se le puede hacer esto a una ecu civic 2005 7ma generacion ¿
no que yo sepa
Hi my friend
You have the ECU P28 circuit board diagram to car manual
@@bryancernas1295 Sorry but I don't have copy of the motherboard diagram.
Buenas noches se podra hacer esto en una ranger 2001 3.0? De automática a estándar?

Desafortunadamente tampoco soy experta en Ford tuning.
Will this work on p76?
Thanks
I'm not familiar with the p76 ecu, but if it's a rectangular obd1 ecu you should be able to do this conversion to it.

Ok thanks. I opened it up but it is not the same as far as where resistor location. I could not find 17 or 18. Thanks again
hi bro p3g ecu auto can convert to manual b20

@@the710experiment84 thank you verry much for response.
Are you sure j12 can be taken out?
J12 has to be removed when chipping the ecu in order to unlock the data logging function, so it isn't necessary to have on the board.
I’m going to do the same procedure on my ecu then
Hey this worked! Got rid of my check engine light for the code 19
Sweet, I'm glad it worked for you! Congratulations Miguel!
