I did a black island once. ONCE. Turns out that my white dog sheds a LOT. Also turns out that black shows dust worse than white. For it to look decent, I had to wash it from top to bottom. Horrid, HORRID color choice for a kitchen. Never again.

I am so with you on vessel sinks. I am remodeling my kid's bathroom and the cleaning of a vessel sink just looks to be a nightmare. We're going with cultured marble sink & vanity countertop, with the sink cast in the same mold so no edges between the sink and countertop mounting for mold to grow. We're even doing the faucet as a wall mount so you don't get that black mold stuff around the base of the faucet.

I’m going to swim upstream and say that I love vessel sinks. Not the salad bowl, copper or pebble variety. My vessel sink is square with sides slightly angled outward, almost trapezoid in profile. It catches all the splashes and is super easy to clean. I do agree with everything else you said 😊

We just bought a platform bed without measuring the bed or room. It’s for a guest room but it’s a tight fit because we went from a double to a queen bed. The worst part is I know better. My cousin is a 30yr pro interior designer in LA, I’ve taken interior design classes and have done measuring/ space planing for this house before. But the showroom got me. Sooo no more buying, a “beautiful piece” at a “great price”, without measuring even if it means driving hours back to Highpoint NC to bring it home if it fits.

Pretty good tips. The one thing I'll say in defense of vessel sinks is that they free up space in the cabinet below the sink. I have a rectangular porcelain vessel sink that came with my house and while I agree it's not as good as undermount sinks from a usability standpoint, it's not bad because it's still a full size sink bowl. I do agree that the smaller vessel sinks you see are horrible, specifically the small glass ones.

Design Daddy, referencing LED lighting, I'd like to know your thoughts on using 3 side-by-side LED, anti fog, dimmable mirrors above an extra long bathroom countertop. The counter is symmetrical with a sink basin on either side and a make-up station in the center. The counter is the exact same height from one end to the other, so no drop down for the make-up station. Imagine 3 arched mirrors with one centered above each sink basin and one centered at the make-up station in the middle. I plan to use a vanity stool that allows me to adjust the. height. Your thoughts and recommendations are welcome. Thanks.

The vanity in the main bathroom in our next house is 30 inches high. i'm 4'11" and that critter is too low even for me, so i thought a vessel sink would be perfect. The sink is a drop-in, though, so the opening wouldn't work for a vessel 😭😭But i've been seeing these recessed vessel sinks, which look to me like a hybrid of the vessel and the drop-in. i'm not sure if that would work, but i hope so, because otherwise we're going to have to raise the vanity, and that is going to be a major pia. Excellent video, as always, DD. And just look at how fast your numbers are going up 😊😊

I don’t know if this video was meant to be hilariously funny. But when you got to the square toilet . . . . It topped the armless sofa by a mile for a laugh.
And the wood frame around the bed, what a nightmare to make the bed, and keep the area clean, plus it’s fugly & definitely won’t age well.

Why does RH consistently intro ridiculous home decor. It is something that they try to do on purpose or are they just out of it.

A friend inherited a circular king sized bed from her in laws and it was interesting. A beautiful bed with all the 70’s aesthetics, red, quilted, wooden. But they couldn’t get bedding for it unless it was custom made. putting it against the wall meant you lost floor space due to the curved headboard. It was hard to place nightstands next to it and it was a paint to clean up the extra dust bunnies where you can’t easily reach along the wall due to the curves. They kept it for a few years because we were all 20 something and broke but ditched it asap. We laugh about that bed to this day.

I could not live in a home with extre minimalism! I don't even like warm minimalism. I am too eclectic for that! To me it looks like a prison.

May I add something about black counters that New Yorkers know? You know what I'm going to say: ROACHES! Roaches prefer a kitchen with a black countertop. And what sucks is they blend in so well with the black...and they KNOW it! You have to turn on every light and stare closely to realize: "Oh, hell, my black counter is moving." Just a little note from fan who has been plagued in Hells Kitchen ever since the landlord "upgraded" our counter to black granite.

I enjoy your videos, but please put all the errors you make in the process to the end of the video as a blooper reel. They are so distracting because we come to watch the content that's in the title and it helps when things are done smoothly. thanks for the content, I hope I didn't come off rude. It's just a suggestion.
