      Yo I'm not sure if you'll see this, but coming from someone that is turning 39 and has been watching you 10 years and knows you as Owen bro - out of all of the content I've seen, getting more into this trauma healing in more depth would help me out immensely. I found you guys after I overdosed on opiates in 2012. I needed to reinvent my self and stay off drugs. I've been clean (except THC I'll never quit that) since 2012, and I have you guys to thank for helping me through part of my struggle. Thx Owen and Julien, from the heart of one OG to another.

But everything change when I finally asked for help and admitting I am a piece of shit and who needs support. I am not relaxing, more like rotting at home and so I dont have a choice anymore.. I realised how long I have been pushing opportunities away. Wasting time, thinking I have abundance of it. I need to start climbing and even more importantly I need to realize that I deserve to be ascending. Self-sabbotage is very real. Thanks to this video I started reading The Presence Process (I'm almost half way through after an afternoon of reading). @@khushboosharma1135 hey, I agree. I read Letting Go and most of it seemed too woo-woo for me. Plus, the author shares very little practical advice on how to actually let go. One thing that I struggle with is that until I achieve that goal of true success with women I can’t just accept that my true fulfilment is found in the peace of being. Intellectually I totally understand that nothing in the world will bring lasting happiness but until I get the worldly things I desire I can’t stop desiring them

    • @aminerkin9844
      @aminerkin9844 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Think about when you achieve success with women, what sort of things you will miss from your single days? ( Like having time all by yourself and etc)
      Also, think about if you never achieved financial or women success, and was loser and forever alone without any friends, and money, what sort of thing you will still enjoy. ( It's m
      ostly Just simple things)
      But of course work your ass off towards achieving your goals, but don't forget that there is value in every step of the way because you will never experience this moment of your life again.
      It's like a movie you're watching that you can never watch again. You want to make sure you don't miss a part.
      That behavior is called being present.

    I know this is a four-year-old video, but getting clean does NOT have to be that way. At first, yeah. your brain chemistry has to balance. Withdrawl But you can absolutely change your thoughts about getting high. I speak from personal experience. At one point I would feel like throwing up when i thought about doing a shot. Now, it doesn't even bother me. i can go to an old friend's house and watch them do their thing and it's just like "Well, if that's what you want to do, man." You just have to do a LOT of thought work and reprogram your brain to align it with reality. And if you are a recovering addict, you KNOW how f*cked, how difficult, how dangerous and disgusting the life is. You focus on that rush, that euphoria and try to stay blind or get comfortable with the chaos around you, but you know that it is not worth it. Use that. Use the truth, repeat it to yourself, associate the rush with the chaos, the terrible, disgusting, painful & genuinely hellish things that you have gone through and you can be clean completely without cravings. I see too many people who think this way, i am amazed to see that Julian and Owen (who I deeply respect) actually thing that a recovered addict can't use thought work to change their thought patterns to associate the drugs with the horrid truth and be free. (Now, obviously it's similar to what Owen said, if you do not maintain your thought work, yourself care and you become stagnant and you can find yourself in a situation that may tempt you. then it's a battle of willpower.)

    There's another dynamic that I see. Guys who have had some success that is beyond their capabilities. People think they are smart - but they know they are not. They fear more success because people will find out that they are frauds or phonies. So they set traps for themselves to stay at the same level.

    Your trauma energy is bad, but it definitely is interesting to just sit and feel terrible, moreso than feeling very happy even tho the happiness is more positive.

      It’s near impossible but not completely. If RSD Tyler could do it and many other people with autism could do it so can you. I’ve seen people do it. At the same time I’ve seen people who 50% of their problems were caused by their circumstance and conditions or whatever else while the other 50% of their problems were caused by excuses , saying they couldn’t, self pity, laziness, no 100% productivity etc etc. it might take years of grinding to get the LIFE you want but it can be done. If you have doubt and argue this message then you already lost the game in life

    I've seen a few videos now where Julien says that recognising and dealing with past trauma is the solution to a lot of problems, and that's great and all, but can anyone explain to me how exactly you do that? Like I remember when I was around 12 I asked out a girl in front of a lot of people (all of her friends and my friends) and she said no. I recognise that as a past trauma that is a major source of approach anxiety for me, but what do I actually do about it? The subconscious belief that I shouldn't approach girls is still deeply rooted in me from this event, even though I know what event spawned it.
