Ive been building an LM7 to swap into my '87 R10 shortbed, until then I decided to get my fix by throwing a thumpr in the 305 over a weekend. It had gacuu. Problems so i set its idle at 1000rpm amd it legit sounds like a track truck. Im nervous im gonna miss that sound when I do the swap finally

In 2010 I was 15 just bought my first car 84 Monte Carlo ls/lt parents had owned it for a long time my brother had bought it for 1500 three years prior but was lazy I bought it off him for six hundred a week later I had two different sets of wheels a thumper cam although it was kinda wprn it would be perfect for my 305 at the time. Slowly put it together right before it should have been running a guy traded me a built s10 and 1500 regret it to this day

Headmen Hustler racing 13/4 tube for angel plug heads. They fit 55-57 Chevy with front engine mount. The header tubes are close on the straight plug heads and burns the plug wires

I have one of these pieces of $H1T , yeah they sound great , but they don't last very long , worse small block GM ever made , Now the 302 , 307 is a different story , The 302 is a 283 crank in a 327 block The 307 is a 327 crank in a 283 block
I have taken 3 very high mileage 305's...(all I had at the time) did some down and dirty re-ring/bearing jobs on them, threw in a performer or stock cam in and drove each one, in different cars, beat the crap out of them cruising, drive to the strip ect, each for 7 to 10 years., each. They didn't have the power of a well built 350, but they never cried for mercy by saying....stop I am only a 305. I did the exact same thing on a 72 307.

Good throttle response. Those cams pull hard up to 5500 rpm.

And a 305 has the same lower end as the 350. (Crank and rods) The 305 is a "pig" because of the heads. Dart makes the perfect replacements.
