Shift light was on for at least 1500 rpm!! But whatever, sounds badass!!
Does that blower have the teflon tips on the rotors ? Im gettin ready to buy a blower and want that exact whine that yurs has
It is not a Teflon stripped blower. The whine is not the blower . The whine is from the pulleys and belt

Am I the only person who all i hear is the 55 chevy from two lane black top when jts open headers. Thats a mean 305 😂
Question, which lift Thumper there is a few to select from and whats the max lift on the 305 before the valves hit the pistons. Nice vid forsure. I'm in the process of building one. I'm using a 1987 305 flat top pistons 40 over.
CL12-600-4 I would stay under .500 lift

Amazing job sir how did you adjusted your 450 carb I’m doing the same with a tunnel ram because they have 900 cfm and people are saying it’s too much for the 327
You can run 450 or 650 and even 750 the motor only use what it can
So what’s the point of building a 305? I don’t get it. Unless it’s not for performance. Just sound. :) good job though.

Good throttle response. Those cams pull hard up to 5500 rpm.

@@eagleals5797 damn that's good I lose my chop at around 700 RPM I only here my comp cam chop if I idle at 500 RPM, how can I get mines to chop at a higher RPM over 500?
I'm running a stock torque converter as well

That looks good but thats a lot on top for a 327. I know tunnel rams help. Thats a lot of cfm's for a 327. Probably would be better with a good dual plane single 4 barbell intake or a single plane single 4 barrel intake (if ya got expensive parts inside the engine) & a good 600 or 650 cfm carb. Put those tunnel rams on 427's & 454's & bigger...
That particular set-up on a 383 or 400 small block because it won't fit a big block (427 or 454 you referred to). OR, it could work on this set-up if the cam and heads can spin to 7,500 to 8,000 rpm. Being that it has a good compression and the lope we can all hear, maybe it would be good for a 20s or 30s hot rod? Just my thought, not saying you're wrong either, just speaking a thought

Why if it’s never going to be a weekly drag racer , would you ruin a beautiful 57 , why not spend that money and build it into a beautiful daily driver a/c and all , super tune too a 20 plus mpg , better than any new car you could ever buy ??

I've ran a bunch of them they were ok but the new engines of today will run circles around them .for instance I own a 03 mustang has a 281 cid eng.it will bury a 150 mph speedo.i had a 69 mach1 it had a 428 cid eng .top speed of it was 142 mph .see what I'm saying if rather build a bad ass ls motor.or a 5.2 voodoo .I'm 68 years old and have owned about every muscle car made over 70 cars all the muscle cars were slow compared to these pocket rockets they have now.by the way that 327 can only handle about 700 cams .2 4 barrels is way over kill that's why he doesn't want to rev it it would flood out

Pining the rocker arm studs will not work small journal crank I hope you use some good rod bolts and always trim that water pump gaskets much cleaner look.
Look, I have no clue why you would say that SBC rocker arm studs can't be pinned? While it is considered a low budget option vs screw in studs it works, My guess is that sometime in the mid 1960's the heads were rebuilt and/or used for some high RPM activities like circle track and the owner didn't want to see his valve train explode every time he hit 7000rpm longer than 5 seconds. They didn't have screw in studs for sale on Ebay in 1964 so you use what works. There are some classes of racing now that require stock heads and pinning is allowed while screw in studs and guide plates are not. WTF does the journal size have to do with rocker studs by the way? Wow, just wow???.....................

462 casting # heads are Double Humpers. .had some on a 327 I built 30+ years ago..64cc chambers.
