Finally the CC3.0 is done and Daaamn that thing is a BEAST!! If I get bored with the AR Kepler I got ordered Ima do this for sure. Good job man WOW. Thanks for the parts list also.
From years of High end drag bike builds - a mystery of shimmy death wobble was solved with a couple pounds more air pressure. Try that. As soft tires increase in speed, the carcass can change shape just enough to cause this. Trueness is another issue - Highly doubt fat tire mfg for E bikes are very critical on trueness/ runout. Make sure mold line on tire near the bead is equal spaced full circle,, and not tucked in causing tire to pucker in at that spot. Cheers
Brilliant! Wow! Great job! I agree with keeping the systems seperate. I understand the benefits but look forward to that video. This whole build has been amazing! Kudos to you! P.S. My wife enjoyed the video too! You have a female fan.
I had the same issue with the space available on the handlebars, I personally found it so much better after I cut my grip in half next to my half twist throttle, no longer had to move my hand for one, and freed up some space to say the least, the grips weren't super expensive either so I didn't mind doing it, they were rubber grip with outer lock on ring so it wasn't coming off even after cutting it in half to bring the half twist throttle in to place, not to mention looked better.
With road tires I bet 40 mph is in reach. But more impressive is the hill climb stats. 20mph up a steep incline is very impressive. I think most people who are into E-bikes buy them for the ease of hill climbing. That was the reason I made my build. Good Vid brother!
I got 250w hub on the front of my 700c wheel bike and 1000w hub on the rear. Got 2 independent batteries, , throttles, controllers etc 1 battery is 36v and the second rear one is a 48v battery, It sure hauls ass up hills!
Torque over speed is OK in my book. I like climbing hills quickly over speeding fast down and on straight always. And into the wind is nice as well having that extra power. Great work.
Dude I’m been waiting for this video I got so hyped watching it. I have a magic cycle bike with a 50t chain ring and a cruise at 27 the 28 all the time I’m jealous you got 10+ miles an hour on me! You’re kind of looking for trouble at that speed anyway people don’t realize a bicycle should be moving that fast they seem to always cut out in front of me so I ride in a 25 mph speed limit street so I just stay in traffic like a motorcycle it’s safer then riding up the shoulder it will cause an accident at that speed. Love the videos keep it up with your reviews and other crazy content!!
Beautiful custom build I built a all wheel drive stealth bomber clone bike with aluminum deck metal sides with 20 inch 4 inch wheel fat tires it has a 3000 watt rear hub motor and a 1000 watt front motor and a square head light 4 50 volt 20 amp hr battery's running thru 40 amp battery blender's
Currently riding a stock Juiced RipCurrent S, and routinely hit 30mph on the flats in "Race" mode. And that's with an XL sized rider like me (6'6"/285lbs) sitting in the saddle. Of course a lot of that is because of the jumbo 52 tooth front chainring. I have a similar sized chainring on my road bike and (when I was fit) could get close to 30 just from pedalling. TBH, that was one of the reasons I decided to buy the RipCurrent S. Due to my size, I'm 100% certain I'm going to burn up the rear hub motor unless I do something to reduce the stress. Front hub motor? Hmmmmm......
I made the Johnny 5 comment. I am 40 and that movie is still etched in my head and probably will always be! I have the juiced hyper scrambler 2 and I can hit 31-32 and be wishing to get at least a 5mph boost. But my average top speed of 28-30 does good when I make it downtown Winston-Salem
You really nailed it with the Johnny 5 comment !! I remember liking that movie as a kid, I may have to watch it again. 32 mi an hour for your hyper scrambler is not too shabby, that's all you need really.
Hey citizen! That was fun to watch! I’m buying the EMX extreme 750w dual motors, when it comes back in stock in June! I’ll be very curious to see how it compares to yours. Mine will come with a 60 volt battery so that should make it faster off the line! I can’t wait to off road with it. I also have an xclass 52v that I love mainly for pavement..
Awesome you know how to pick some fantastic e-bikes. Your 60v EMX maybe faster off the line but the citizen bike would probably beat you on top speed, just due to the wheel diameter. Enjoy that EMX you're going to love it!!
Hi, I've got 1,400 kms on my dual 750 EMX and love it! To stop wasting power from front wheel spin, I set the power level in the display "P5" setting to 2 instead of 10. No more front wheel spin better acceleration!
Citizen Cycle: Time to climb some hills! AWD SuperRover: What hills? Excellent video. You have my RadMini beat in acceleration by 0.8 second, and I can beat a Grizzly, so I'm pretty sure the SuperRover owns the e-bike dragstrip for now 😊 Electric motor top speed is simply the motor reaching the natural RPM for that voltage, and more power does not change that. That top speed is fine and will outperform pretty much all commercial e-bikes, and Onyx's and Sur Ron's don't count because they are not e-bikes. However, if you do want to go faster, you will need to change to motors with a higher KV rating (RPM per volt), or use a controller with field weakening. Thanks again!
You're the man! I'get it one motor goes out you still got another one! I think with multiple batteries like I have that that bike would probably get good mileage! I like speed and distance!
The very flat beam of your headlights is because they are foglights. The flat beams down low would let you see far off objects or animals standing on the road without lighting the fog all up. 1990's Lexus cars had these annoying yellow projector foglights. These are those with rings. Super cool bike you made. Cheers
It seems weird that Rad would use fog lights as their main headlight. I was assuming the flat being pattern was meant to keep from blinding oncoming pedestrians and bike traffic.
@@CitizenCycle925 Not blinding oncomming traffic or yourself in thick fog is exactly what flat-beams are for. It's just I have only seen them used as low sitting fog lights (on cars). Cheers

I agree they don't look great as taillights, but if U put one on either side of the rack, they could be turn into signals as well brake lights because they are bigger to be seen just a thought What is the size of that front sprocket... does it help with ghosting when U pedal
2.0 was the WOBBLER, then you almost got Forked up with the front end .As mentioned we got the Grizzly, been dealing with a damaged battery from shipping another story. I wish I knew someone that lived close who had a grizzly.
Wow, that is one hell of an e-bike you got. I bought a KBO breeze about a month ago, I need a little more power on the hills so I’m getting another bike, still can’t decide what to get?
I would love to try out the dual motor road warrior bike as a comparison. Very curious to know if they would be evenly matched or if one takes down the other. .
I kinda feel those motors are working aginst each other. Maybe I am wrong but that seems to be where the noise comes from try one motor at a time It just seemed both motors running it was being held back.
I would like to see how it does climbing steep dirt or grass hills. Also how much pulling power it has. This setup would be of interest to hunters and back woods riders.

I also read that for durability direct drive are better than geared motors, because most geared motors are not steel gears, but plastic or a form of plastic or nylon for the gears. If you researched this, what's your take on these issues? Thanks, and keep up the great work.
Wondered this as well - man those are noisy hub motors - so they must be gear type he used. Zero noise, hypoid smooth mesh probably won't happen, costly for one, but that's too much noise for me. That's the trouble with straight cut gears where only one tooth on each gear is fully engaged. Makes me want to look into larger motor with mid belt drive, and front wheel motor. I know most comments are as old as the video.. but some of the links are broken. Could you get some part numbers for the hubs? Supposedly bafang is making a 1500w rear geared.. but I can't find the info again. I'm looking to upgrade my rover that has 9000+ miles on it. The odometer reads 8412 but GPS has me at 26mph... not 21 like the display says... anyway, thanks in advance. Seems like you've spent a ton of money and hours getting your rover the way you like it
Checking items for build - This one is no longer available - Bafang 750w motor 135mm dropout (amazon) But just for the heck of it - look at image for this listing - it appears to show motor with mounting 9 for spd Cassette ? Was this choice of motor intended with that option? Somewhat confused as front motor. There are other sources in list of parts. - electro bike motors - strange web site address. TH-cam rejected it. Cheers
Excellent idea with the all-wheel-drive but those motors are pretty loud, and I wonder if there is a way to upgrade the Rad to do 50+mph and also have the ability to use one screen and to turn on the rear wheel or both wheels.
I love you're bike. I was thinking about turning my middrive into an awd but my 750w goes 59 km with a 44 tooth lekkie bling ring and a 52v 21ah battery. But I want to get a 52 tooth lekkie bling ring for top speed first.
Yes if I was focused on gaining top speed I'd probably switch out the tires to the vee speedster tires. But at this time I'm happy with 37 mph and I like having some traction for off-road.
You probably can squeeze another mile out with some Vee Speedster tires. Additionally, Grin Technologies have various motor controllers now that are adaptable for various hub motors that use an L10 plug.
It would be a great bike for people living up mountain areas etc. Those mudguards with the lovely stripe would sell all day long.. but I can't seem to find them on Cyrusher site. Generally, full-length mudguards for fat tyre bikes are hard to come by.
wonder what happens if you max speed ...but then come off the front motor see how quick speed drops or how long can rear hold the speed once it up ....
your getting restricted at least 5miles from the knobby tires which could be reason for wobble and extra noise slapping that road, could you upgrade those tires for road
Insane Bike. In a great way. 🤜🏽🤛🏼 I need this. I may take me a year. I’ve been being rebuilt myself. (New shoulder new Hip (soon) than look out world. Lol
The torque is impressive but my full suspension rear dd hub motor will do 36 mph, and that's with a 48v battery, so top speed not to impressed but that's about as fast as I care to go on a bicycle anyway. Great video.
Lots of ebike cheapo Chinese stuff doesn't work. It's only made to look like high end cycling equipment such as your headlights. Look into Cygolite or Nightrider brand cycle lights that actually work. Cool bike!
Brian, What did you end up using for torque washers on the front fork. What type, how many and what order? thanks Russ.Your Build looks and puts out great. Good Job!!!!!
I just used one torque washer on each side. The order was one flat washer, then fork drop out, then torque washer, then axle nut. Same thing on both sides. I did not use any torque arms.
3.0 looks awesome!! Must be nice to be able to accelerate to 30 mph UP a hill. Vee Speedster 3.5 tires got me a couple more mph (maybe your next alteration?). Great job! BTW - I think the guy in the car was hoping you'd build him a bike.
My stock 6+ gets killed by the sugar sand of the California desert, but with your setup would over power the ground traction as your asphalt spin outs show. Oh and not to mention the sand being kicked up onto the bike. Climbing the sidewall of a desert wash would be nice ( I tried that once and stalled, fell over and rolled BUT missed a cactus, my hat did not ).
Hey i've got an update on my dual drive step through rover, still the same upgrades, just moved the battery from my rear panier to the front on the bottle screws and no matter what I do i can't get it to wobble like yours anymore, I also managed to hit 51km/h with that ebikeling kit and the stock battery
@@CitizenCycle925 One's on the front bottle screws and the other is the stock battery in it's little spot from rad, the front battery is a 36v 11ah rack battery from envo, it's super jank but it's what I put on there until em3ev gets some batteries in stock
Looking at buying a ebike, leaning towards the Hemingway, would like to know which model would best suit me. Want to just ride but also want to go off-road with my fishing gear to ride around lakes as I am old and can not walk the distance carrying my gear that far. Also, know anyone who makes a back rack set up to carry fishing rods etc.
Now it’s time to change the rear freewheel to 11/28t. I did that on my himiway plus I changed my crank to the same 53t. I think you will benefit from the 11/28t freewheel. Should be easy to change.
@ROBERT BROOKS I went to 48t up front. My controller mounts under the downtube and I think I could go to 50 but dropping from 14 to 11 is a much better idea.
@@CitizenCycle925 oh I started the minute I bought it. Bigger seat, suspension stem and seat post, new pedals, Juintech M1 brakes, new rotors, mirrors, added fenders. It's too late for me.
That's Awesome, now change out the rear hub with a 3000 watt motor and go 0 to 60 in no time :)! Seriously the 3000 watt motor with 72 Volt battery will get you to 60 MPH, just don't count on the brakes. I'm thinking of converting my sons motorcycle that hasn't worked since he bought it but with a 5000 watt 96 Volt system Also on the forks for the front hub, you should've added an anti torque system which is nothing more that a curved piece of steel which goes onto the wheel and then is mounted to the fram via a hose clamp. Looks cheap but then you are displacing the power from the drop in to the mass of the fork, even place one on each side if you don't want to spent the money on the modified forks.
I've considered doing the same thing with my ebike. Its a rize blade from 2020. Aliexpress has a dual motor kit for 20in and 26in tires. They are both 1000w gear hub motors with one controller operating both motors and a throttle controlling both motors. Prices vary from supplier but the cheapest one I found was around $1,200. My concern is the durability since they are not name brand motors (jue shuai) and the longevity of a single controller doing all the work.
I really like the bikes that rize is offering. Have you been happy with the blade? If you decide to try one of those kids let me know how it works out.
@@CitizenCycle925 I've been really happy with the blade. 2 years as a daily driver and no major issues with motor or the electronics. They have great customer service and reliable bikes. I have around 7k miles and added 2 52v batteries to it. Yeah I'm tempted to buy the dual hub motor from aliexpress. If I do I'll make a vid on it.

The odometer reads 8412 but GPS has me at 26mph... not 21 like the display says... anyway, thanks in advance. Seems like you've spent a ton of money and hours getting your rover the way you like it
Cool video! Great Info
Checking items for build - This one is no longer available -
Bafang 750w motor 135mm dropout (amazon)
But just for the heck of it - look at image for this listing - it appears to show motor with mounting 9 for spd Cassette ?
Was this choice of motor intended with that option? Somewhat confused as front motor.
There are other sources in list of parts. - electro bike motors - strange web site address. TH-cam rejected it.
Cheers
that bike has some power dude yes I love it 👌
Excellent idea with the all-wheel-drive but those motors are pretty loud, and I wonder if there is a way to upgrade the Rad to do 50+mph and also have the ability to use one screen and to turn on the rear wheel or both wheels.
dude you are rad! how about adding a front wheel drive on the wired freedom e bike and hook it up to a second 60v 20ah battery?
I love you're bike. I was thinking about turning my middrive into an awd but my 750w goes 59 km with a 44 tooth lekkie bling ring and a 52v 21ah battery. But I want to get a 52 tooth lekkie bling ring for top speed first.
Awesome mate now I would love you to take on the e-cells super monarch limited edition awd dual motor bike for a spin please 🙏
Will the controller work on electric X premium
You are a special kind of crazy, but I love it! 🤔 wish I had the patience to do something like that.
Thanks.. I think 😁
Have you considered swapping out the knobby tires for smooth street tires?
All that noise will be minimal at best. Great build btw. 👏
Yes if I was focused on gaining top speed I'd probably switch out the tires to the vee speedster tires. But at this time I'm happy with 37 mph and I like having some traction for off-road.
Do you have the Bolton up grade on the front motor
You probably can squeeze another mile out with some Vee Speedster tires. Additionally, Grin Technologies have various motor controllers now that are adaptable for various hub motors that use an L10 plug.
It would be a great bike for people living up mountain areas etc. Those mudguards with the lovely stripe would sell all day long.. but I can't seem to find them on Cyrusher site. Generally, full-length mudguards for fat tyre bikes are hard to come by.
I just emailed Cyrusher customer service and asked if I could buy a set of XF650 fenders.
wonder what happens if you max speed ...but then come off the front motor see how quick speed drops or how long can rear hold the speed once it up ....
Can you do a comparison between Ariel Grizzly and your Rad 3.0?
I really hope to, I just need to get my hands on a grizzly..
your getting restricted at least 5miles from the knobby tires which could be reason for wobble and extra noise slapping that road, could you upgrade those tires for road
Insane Bike. In a great way. 🤜🏽🤛🏼 I need this. I may take me a year. I’ve been being rebuilt myself. (New shoulder new Hip (soon) than look out world. Lol
I wish you a speedy recovery So you can get back out there!
The torque is impressive but my full suspension rear dd hub motor will do 36 mph, and that's with a 48v battery, so top speed not to impressed but that's about as fast as I care to go on a bicycle anyway. Great video.
You just answered my question
Lots of ebike cheapo Chinese stuff doesn't work. It's only made to look like high end cycling equipment such as your headlights. Look into Cygolite or Nightrider brand cycle lights that actually work. Cool bike!
How is that front fork holding up? I have the same fork, contemplating doing a front hub motor with some torque arms.
Where did you find the fork? Ty
It's a very nice build
My stock 6+ gets killed by the sugar sand of the California desert, but with your setup would over power the ground traction as your asphalt spin outs show. Oh and not to mention the sand being kicked up onto the bike. Climbing the sidewall of a desert wash would be nice ( I tried that once and stalled, fell over and rolled BUT missed a cactus, my hat did not ).
Real cool set up.only way it could get any better is if you swapped the rear hub motor for a mid system, but I would call it done at this point XD
You could likely go 45mph with a cog that has a smaller teeth count.
What are yours in the back, CitizenCycle?
The back is 14-28 The front is 53 I think
Hey i've got an update on my dual drive step through rover, still the same upgrades, just moved the battery from my rear panier to the front on the bottle screws and no matter what I do i can't get it to wobble like yours anymore, I also managed to hit 51km/h with that ebikeling kit and the stock battery
So you have two batteries mounted on that down tube? If one's the stock battery what's the other?
@@CitizenCycle925 One's on the front bottle screws and the other is the stock battery in it's little spot from rad, the front battery is a 36v 11ah rack battery from envo, it's super jank but it's what I put on there until em3ev gets some batteries in stock
would love to see that head to head with the fabolous bike😮
Can I do this to my old school Giant touring bicycle? like 1991 or 89 I don't remember the exact year but it is as old or older than me
Looking at buying a ebike, leaning towards the Hemingway, would like to know which model would best suit me.
What brand 11/28 freewheel did you use and is it holding up? I definitely need more gear
@@paulmryglod4802 I have not had any problems with it. I got it off Amazon. DRIFT MANIAC E-Bike Freewheel 7 Speeds 11-28/11-34T Teeth EPOCH.
@@robertbrooks7936 thanks! I just ordered one
@@paulmryglod4802 have you already changed the front gear?
@ROBERT BROOKS I went to 48t up front. My controller mounts under the downtube and I think I could go to 50 but dropping from 14 to 11 is a much better idea.
Can this be done on a Ariel Rider Kepler into awd in the similar set up as this?
Got the same pedals on my 2019 Radmini! I also put the Area 13 upgrade on it. Now I want to spend even more money! Lol
careful, once you start it keeps going.. HAHA
I'm thinking of converting my sons motorcycle that hasn't worked since he bought it but with a 5000 watt 96 Volt system
Also on the forks for the front hub, you should've added an anti torque system which is nothing more that a curved piece of steel which goes onto the wheel and then is mounted to the fram via a hose clamp.
I got one off ebay and a battery for about 600 total-I have videos of my AWD CSC 750 and can not even fathom riding without AWD.
Looks great man, I like speed but I think that might be a bit much for me. Especially since I don’t wear any safety gear, it would be fun beating 5he cars around the neighborhood. But it came out great congratulations!
I wonder about a mid drive torque sensor with that 750 font wheel how that fair ?
Does that bike have a cadence sensor or a torque sensor
Cadence
How fast can you go when the wheel spin stops
What is the displays make? model? thanks BTW awesome job!
LCD8H displays
What your thoughts on the newer eunorau AWD 750×2 bike?. Wandering how it would stack up against your machine.
Looks like a very nice machine but would not keep up with my bike. It has 22amp controllers, my controllers are 35 amp.
@@CitizenCycle925 gotcha...
My wife and I are in the market for a couple ebikes. Just trying to pick a brand..seems the radrover 5 will fit our needs. Plus I could upgrade components on mine.....whats your thoughts on the newer version radrover6....seems to me the 5 would be best. With nothing integrated like battery and controller it would be the easiest to upgrade components..? Thoughts?.
Thanks in advance. Great channel by the way
One more question, have you ever reviewed a Trike E-Bike before?
how about a philodo h8, how does it compare.
My rad sounds the same. It's so annoying how loud those things are. At least I know I'm not the only one lol
Check out the Eunorau Defender S. dual Bafung 750 watt motors. Now you can buy a bike similar to your custom bike.
Hey iam inn Kernersville, North Carolina is there a way i can drop my bike off to u and can u make it awd
Flat out, that sounds like the audio US Army used in Vietnam War to scare the enemy
Love the 3.0! Impressive. I think you have the original Rad brakes and I would highly encourage you to go hydraulic. Too much speed for manual brakes. Once last thing, the speed is limited by the motor/controller. Johny 5…Hilarious.
I'd like to see some off road video's!
Mind if I ask which bike shop in the Raleigh area laced your second motor? I can't find anyone to do that.
