I love V90, my dream car. I dont care about how fast car is, i care about the safety and reliability. But that T6 r has some kick to it too, which is bonus. Hope i get to own one of those someday. Great vid
What a beauty! I have not seen one in the road yet tho! Built in booster seats continue! Great for when the kiddos grow out of a car seat. I want one of these but not in the budget.
I noticed the exact same thing with Pilot Assist when a lane splits that sometimes it will want to follow the lane turning off. I had a look in the owners manual and it said that sometimes you should give it a small nudge toward the lane you want to stay in so the system is certain of which lane to follow.
Hi, I have the V90 D4 R-design AWD . 21,000km now. About noise on bumps, I think it relates to low profile 35 tyres with very stiff 21in.wheels of the R-design. I have really nothing to complaint of, 100% satisfied. Leather seats so comfortable, lot of space, very silent, good road handling. ... And the style ! so gorgeous, I prefer the V90 better than Audi A6, BMW 5 and MB E. Just test it and you'll understand.
The Volvo V90 Cross Country Ocean Race Special Edition, looks even nicer than this R-Design, if you can believe that. Station wagons seem to be making a bit of a comeback here in the U.S lately.
The climate system is fully automatic, also the fan speed. If you for some reason change the fan speed, it turns off the automatic fan speed, and you must change it manually. That means that if you get into a hot car and the climate is on auto, the fan revs up and makes a lot of noise, but that settles down as soon as the cabin temperature goes down. Many people reacts to the fan noise and reducds the speed manually, but then it stays like that. I own an older V60, and on it's system it is possible to set preferences on the automatic fan speed to three settings if you like more or less noise. I think the new Volvos are similar. In addition it is possible to change settings by speech. Try to press the button on the wheel and say things like "Increase temperature" or "set temperature to 75 degrees".
Yes -- you can adjust a lot of that stuff via speech, which is how they (Volvo) want you to do it. A lot of people overlook that feature, unfortunately and think they *have* to use the touchscreen...which isn't what Volvo had intended at all. Their PR/marketing teams needs to address that on the next generation for sure.
In response to your notation on NVH over bumps, don't forget the r-design suspension is tuned firmer in that way. Take a standard V90 and that all is eliminated.
If you change to normal chassis with 17 or 18“rims, the noise will be much better in the cabin. The usability of the sensus is really not the best. One great advantage of the climate control, automatic will be in function when you change fan speed, most cars stop the automatic function. The sport seats are really comfortable but not sporty :) and only for people with a slip hip. And nearly every normal car drives with the same speed around the corner, the grip is the same but they feel different. If you have the opportunity test different cars on a wet circle.
Exactly! They might not have the highest grip, so you can tackle corners at 60 mph, but they offer so many more advantages for the average driver. I actually have a 1997 Volvo V40 with 14 inch 185/65 wheels and it just floats down the road. They're so much more quiet, comfortable and extremely cheap. It has independent rear suspension, so it corners just fine. With a good quality tire, the grip in corners is great. People laugh at my cars for its small wheels (most V40s came with 16 inch wheels), but they don't know how much more comfort I gain using these wheels, which is a godsend for a daily driver. I'm not racing my Volvo, I just want a comfortable, safe, reliable daily driver and those wheels get the job done great.
why people WOULD buy this over XC90? It looks exactly same interior, not better or less. and over that little sharp bumps it should not make that kind of crash noise. It's +$60,000 car!!!!!!!!!!! Love the design but that's as much as it goes.
Volvo cars are underrated!
Shellyman Studios that's your opinion.
Shellyman Studios agree
That is completely true.
Volvo does such a job good on designs!
the dream car

Did ya?
I really have been thinking of getting this car... They are beautiful.
you deserve more subscribers man!

Volvo is killing it with V90.

Failed the Visor test 😢
yep
TSP's reference -- niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!
The noice over bumps is the big rims on the r design

My only complain is the touch screen radio, as you saw on the video, is a little bit slow, but eventually you can figure it out.
I don't have any of the suspension-related noises/issues on mine, which is equipped with the standard non-air suspension.
Did you find the rear wiper? Looks like the whole thing got ripped off leaving just the motor to wipe. Hoping Volvo will still send you cars
Are you reviewing the S90 anytime soon?
Did you get a chance to drive this car without the air suspension? Is it that different? Worried about complex system breaking.
The rear seats that pop up are BOOSTER seats. You can use voice to control the climate
2:00 thats genius, have never seen that before.
There is more room in the back than in the E-class!
Do the Ford Flex
same time with winding road magazine ?
JW Piranesi same car too
same guy
5:47 what's that weird sound?!
The Piano Guy Potato he moves the cam
Who stole the rear wiper?
It got ripped off in the car wash :/
I understand using the same design philosophy for their line of cars, but at least the interiors need more variation and not the EXACT same thing.

The noise over bumps is because of those stupid large wheels. It would be absolutely fine with some proper sized wheels.
Protector of the Republic ikr Thats why i only order the smallest wheels, its cheaper, safer and more comfortable i

large sport wheels look good and totally suck. it's getting to be the scourge of newer cars
@Deniz Di: You know the score. Big wheels are for design junkies, small wheels are for real people who know how it works.
Good Review, 20 or 21" Inch Wheels?
"20
Wow, very nonchalant about that wiper. I'd shit myself and then cry every time i mentioned it.
Me TOO!
I tested this car yesterday. It was nice. But its for family practicality..
Seriously dude, what is your problem with stop signs?
