  • Discover the Impact of Keycaps Profiles on Sound! Join me in this Ultimate Keycaps Profile Sound Comparison video where I explore 10 different keycaps profiles on a single keyboard. We'll dive deep into the differences between DSA, ASA Low, XDA, Cherry, JDA, OEM, ASA, MT3, SAL, and SA keycaps profiles. I've tested 14 keycaps sets, including 5 in ABS and 9 in PBT, using Chosfox x JWK DD Linear switches and Kailh BOX White V2 Clicky switches.
    In this video, I showcase a variety of keycaps that demonstrate the various profiles:
    ABS Keycaps:
    GMK Pulse Mitolet: Cherry profile
    Tai-Hao White & Red: OEM profile
    Drop + MATT3O Susuwatari: MT3 profile
    Akko Ocean Star: SAL profile
    Godspeed SA Genespeed: SA profile
    PBT Keycaps:
    Bowjian FC Gaming: DSA profile
    Akko Carbon Retro: ASA Low profile
    Epomaker Matcha: XDA profile
    Akko Black & Pink: Cherry profile
    Akko Provence: JDA profile
    Akko Doraemon: OEM profile
    Akko Los Angeles: ASA profile
    Drop + BIIP Extended 2048: MT3 profile
    Akko Cupid Valentine: SA profile
    ***THERE IS AN ERROR, MT3 ABS SUSUWATARI ARE 1.3MM THICK, NOT 1.1MM!

    Hey there, folks! I'm J-S, and I'm all about making sound test videos for mechanical and non-mechanical keyboards. From the latest MX switches to those classic vintage keyboards, Click and Thock is where you'll find all the keyboard sounds you crave.
    I'm talking everything from old-school Alps SKCM switches and IBM Buckling Springs to the freshest Kailh BOX switches. I put 'em all to the test and compare the different sounds these switches and keyboards create.
    I also like to experiment with different plates, cases, switches, keycaps, and other components to see how they affect the sound. To keep things fair, I always use the same case, plate, and keycaps when comparing sounds.
    So, if you're all about that #keebsporn life, you've come to the right place. Just kick back, relax, and enjoy the sweet, sweet sounds of keyboards.

    I love that you put the frequency graph on the side, it's so much easier to remember roughly tbe range of frequencies than it is to remember the relative pitch compared to the next keyboard. If you ever feature that in a future video, maybe change the scale so we can better see the range of frequencies, I doubt there were many spikes anywhere near 16000 Hz. Anyway great comparison!

      Indeed, I was quite surprised too with the inclusion of frequency graph!
      How did you do it? Does your video editing software has sound spectrum analyzer, or perhaps you manually extracted it using plugin in some DAW? In any case, mighty impressive editing skills, coupled with super useful content.
      And obviously -YES! Keycaps affect keyboard sound even more than the switch does! I'm a hobby beginner and I learned this the hard way after have been bought wrong set of keycaps for my taste, twice. People need to speak more about this.

    Awesome video brother. I have a question, since I'm still couple of months in the keyboard hobby, my sense of sound is not that good. Can i ask if XDA, ASA or SA profile produces a better deep thocky sound on the oil kings? Currently i have the XDA, but if given the chance i can change to either ASA or SA.

    • @ClickandThock
      @ClickandThock  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Dont worry, sound is a very presonal experience, there is no bad answer! It's all matter of preference! But in my experience, pbt XDA produce a nice thocky sound since they are usually thick and there are not much empty space inside them! But the rest of the board will also affect the sound! Thank you!

    I think the set you used for DSA is actually XDA...

      Just looking back you are right, these are not XDA , are not DSA either... Weird, they where sold as DSA but they kind of in between XDA and DSA... That sucks... Will contact the company since it look like a mistake and I want to know what it is... Thanks man.

    Cherry is the king for a all purpose keyboard. any caps higher than Cherry really needs a wrist rest.

    • @ClickandThock

      I guess it is a matter of preference! I really like SA keycaps even without wrist rest, but I agree, Cherry is the most comfortable profile to me!

    PBT SA profile sounds a bit too sharp for my ears. There's a distinct hollow, almost wooden sound.

    • @ClickandThock
      @ClickandThock  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes exactly! I don't like them either! SA = ABS all the way!

      @@ClickandThock I use PMK's PBT SA Ice Cap and they sound nothing like the PBTs in the video. They are much closer to the sound of your ABS SA.

    Why caps empty inside? Too loud.

    • @ClickandThock
      @ClickandThock  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tall caps have a lot of empty space, with change the sound! Would actually be great to try to feel this space to see the impact on sound!

    What i got out of this. Switches make the most difference andCherry sounds the worst on all tests. Also seem thicker equals thockier

    • @ClickandThock
      @ClickandThock  ปีที่แล้ว

      Both Switches and Keycaps affect the sound, the case even more! I kind of like the cherry sound, but it is a question of preference I guess!
