  • I finally got my hands on the Roborock Auto Empty Dock for the Roborock S7 robot vacuum. In this video I show what's in the box, how to set it up, what it does for you, and share my review on it.
    The auto empty dock is essentially a self cleaner for your Roborock S7, in that it clears the contents of the onboard dustbin, without you needing to lift a finger.
    As always, if you have any questions, please leave a comment below and I will get back to you!

    They really think of everything! That self sealing on the bags is so well thought out

      I really like my rs7 but that self sealing feature of vacuum cleaners bags has been around for over 20 years only from what I remember.

    Thanks. First Youruber I found that mentioned the two auto dock versions I.e. bagless and bagged. I was wondering about mine...now sorted.

    Hi, I just wondered if it auto returns to base when the dust bin is full or does it just carry on ?

    How do you remove the dust bag canister on the bagged version? Mine is clogged and I can’t clean it very well with the canister attached.

    Can I buy any auto empty dock and switch between dustbag, and no dustbag? Or do I have buy a specific version that works one way or the other?

    Hey Josh, does the AU version come with both the cyclone and bagged silos? And guessing it works with the S7 MaxV as well… the ultra dock seems overkill for that prices point tbh. Thanks

    • @iamjoshstunell
      @iamjoshstunell  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Sam, when I bought the Auto Empty dock it came fitted with the cyclone canister, and then in the box alongside that was a dust bag, and also a plastic fitting to convert the cyclone canister to the bagged option. Essentially you remove the cyclone internals and replace it with the plastic fitting and dust bag if you want.
      It'll work great with the S7 MaxV as well, so you get obstacle avoidance, routines, quick mapping etc using that over the S7.
      The Ultra dock is certainly pricey, but if you have a lot of hard floors you want to mop, it's worth considering. If you have mostly carpet, this Auto Empty dock is likely the better choice.

    Hi I have bought Roborock S7 +. But after two weeks of use, I sent it back because I thought the mopping was lousy. I understand that you have to wet the mop before starting the robot vacuum cleaner. but after half the house, the mop has been wiped off and the robot vacuum cleaner mops a maximum of 7 to 10 cm wide on the floor. the difference between s6v max and s7, is that the water drainage on the s6v max in two places on the mop on each side. which means that the entire width of the mop is constantly wet. while s7 has a single drain in the middle which is not enough to bleed the whole mop, resulting in it mops max 7 to 10 cm max. I would need your opinion on this .. or if I'm doing something wrong

    • @iamjoshstunell
      @iamjoshstunell  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mina, that sounds about right I think unfortunately. I've found that I need to wet the mop pad before starting to get the best result, and then the robot water tank just supplements the water already on the damp mop pad. I only have a small amount of hard floors to mop in my place, but I could assume on a larger area of hard floors, the pre-wet mop pad may dry out, in which case it's just relying on the dispensing from the water tank to keep up, which isn't great on it's own. I think the S7 is a great robot vacuum, but just an 'ok' mopping vacuum. You may potentially benefit from a more mopping specific robot if thats a priority for you.

    US needs the bagless version. Seems to have Berger suction and filters also.

      Hey AP, Roborock US has introduced the bagless option to purchase separately now if you were interested in that - us.roborock.com/products/cyclone-dustbin-for-roborock-s7-auto-empty-dock

    The S7 vacuum is very good, but I don’t really see a point in the dock as replacing mop pads and filling the water reservoir are higher “touch points” than emptying the dust bin every 3-4 cycles.

    • @iamjoshstunell
      @iamjoshstunell  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your comment! I think depending on the home, if it has a lot more carpeted areas compared to hard flooring, the auto-empty dock might be much more useful. Or perhaps if there are pets inside, the on-board bin might be filling up every time you run a vacuum, making the auto-empty dock a more useful addition there too.

      Josh Stunell agree, the area we use the S7 is about 120sqm of polished boards with some Persian rugs, so primarily a vacuum/mop job. Have to say the S7 is genuinely the best robo vac we have had so far, our first a Samsung , then a Neato D7 and the worst an Electrolux. The S7 mapping is so far ahead of the others and it very seldom gets hung up on rug edges etc.

    Mine can be used both bagged and bagless. Installing the damn thing was confusing because instructions showed the bagless system and then instructed to also put the bag in.
