Definitely my absolute favorite of the La Mulana songs, new and old. It has a nice grisly structure, some amazing rhythm, and it keeps you PUMPED through the heat.
What I wonder is why Curse of Iron Pipe was changed while this barely was. That track only had 20 seconds at most in common with the theme from Ashguine 2, and except for the last bit (which comes first in Ashguine 2) I believe that melody is fairly common in Japanese media, while the near entirety of this is a bigger rip-off of the much more distinctive The Kissing of Eldeel from Ys IV than A Great Ordeal, also from Ys IV, is of Far Beyond the Sun. Not to mention that Falcom is still active and has continuously been since before the original release of this game, despite nearly collapsing a few years prior thereto, and I'm sure many of its employees are hard at work on Ys X, while T&E Soft had stopped game development years before even the original release of this game and sold off all its IP the year this game came out, the publisher was shut down by its parent company (which hasn't otherwise published video games) even while T&E Soft was still active, and the Ashguine series ended years before even that.
@@theinvisibleskulk4563 I think your first comment got removed. Anyway, I think it's somewhat common for videogame composers to reuse melodies from other tracks. That rarely ends in a lawsuit as far as I know. And I've added Ys and Ashguine 2 to the list of games I want to play eventually, thanks.

probably deliberate. it is a track for a lava field area and this game was made to imitate the generation of games that Ys came from.
Definitely has a Sega Genesis style rumble to it. This tune also reminds me of the video game Lemmings as well.

I didn't know it was such a ripoff, but I think you're right. That's a shame. But what does the developers going out of business have to do with this?
@@artey6671 As far as I know T&E Soft actually hasn't gone out of business at all; they've rebranded to D Wonderland and are now a pawn shop.

Sorry, but I think the remake version utterly crushed this one. I fully admit to being a metalhead, though, so it scratches that itch just right.
