I remember the first time I faced off against Tiamat on the original La-Mulana and this song started playing my heart was pumping so fast I don't think I blinked and I fought hard dodging those bats for 5 minutes before she utterly decimated me to a pulp.man that was the most invigoratingly epic piece of gaming history I ever had. even more so than the first time I heard the Dark King theme from FF Mystic Quest. or the final boss battle with the shredder in TMNT 4.god I cant wait for La-Mulana 2.i need puzzles and whips and undeniable Gaming Death!
Here I am, one year later, and this is still one of the most amazing songs to grace a boss battle. La Mulana is incredible when you factor in that it was pretty much made by one man. His limited knowledge of music and theory make songs like this and Giant's Cry all the more unbelievable; the fact that they were written by someone who doesn't have much background with music is ASTONISHING.
Personally, I think they're both pretty amazing, and so is the rest of the soundtrack and the game itself. NIGORO did an amazing job with the remake; you can play both versions, and neither outweighs the other, but both are worth playing regardless. That's what a good remake should do.
I've seen only 3 bosses in the Wii version thus far, but if they are any indication, then Tiamat will scare even me because HOLY CRAP the bosses got a lot tougher! D:
IDK, personally this theme feels like it's one of those tracks that you like more when you've heard the original first...but for everyone else, they end up preferring the new. Of course, when that happens, it's often hard for both to understand why the other likes which ever version more
@MettanAtem - Agreed. You are right on, Bahamut and Viy were much more frustrating and hard than Tiamat. You need patience for Tiamat, but it's easier to retain your health than on the other battles.
I destroyed Bahamut and Viy to be honest... I think this is the only boss in the original that gave a hell of a fight, other than Sanskit and the final boss o3o; Died so many times trying to beat her. Didn't use the knife combo though, so that's probably why.
There are some tunes better in the Wii/PC remix. This is not one of them. I can (and have) listened to this loop for longer than may be healthy via the La Mulana Jukebox. The code you need is "zeus" :)
I want to fucking KILL Tiama... But those fucking bats ruin it for me EVERY TIME. ;_; I'll get you in the morning, Tiamat... After tomorrow, you will be no more, and the only ones that remain after you are Palenque and finally... Mother.

Very belatedly... LA MULANA 2 IS RELEASED!
going back to save before facing her for the first time was one of the wisest choices of my misbegotten existence
THIS is the very definition of 'music for an epic battle'.
There aren't enough games that have such kick-ass boss music, or bosses. La-Mulana is the crowning height of awesome.

Three men, but your point still stands
come back and listen to this banger its been 9 years

I had more trouble on Bahamut in particular, and slightly more on Palenque, but Tiamat had the best music.
This actually reminds me of PC-98 era Touhou music.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of that.
∞Tiamat can indeed be quite hard!∞
I like this song better in its original format than the remake too. Sounds more melodic, less rock.
Jonny Atma did an awesome over of this.

It sounds almost like Zero's theme from Mega Man X2!
Holy shit.... this is even better than MMII Wily Stages...

∞∞∞∞ HAIRED!
The medley sound like the first stage from U.N Squadron on SNES. It's the same one actually.

I just love this song...!

@BaronOfBacon Were you there for Mother, as well? i forgot.

1:48 Kirby transformation
@LordCard Definitely. Stage 3 4 and 5 were rather monotonous in Mega Man 2 in terms of music.
@Sephiko - haha, it does sound like that.
@Zant5976 Dude. I WAS THERE! Name's Paradox_Zero lol
And yes, I did shit myself XD
@Zant5976 Yeah, I saw the fight with Mother as well as the escape. And SHOOOOORRRRNNN!!! as well D:
It sounds very Super Sentai-ish
I love you BLB-san!
@@the1lostsoul love you too ❤
Suits the final Guardian

@BaronOfBacon Just watch a live stream of it last night.
You'll shit yourself at least one time against Tiamat, i will guarantee it.
@Konrad14113 Bet the game would be so much easier without those bats.
Tiamat was easy compared to, say, Bahamut and Viy.
