Love how Sabine has equal parts from her parents. Her mother is a typical mandalorian warrior and leader, while her father is a soft spoken artist. Both of them show in Sabine.
Both parts of this episode aired at the same time, but I remember that I only had time to watch one before going to work, so I went through my whole work day thinking Sabine indirectly killed her mother and brother. It was very distracting. Then I came home and had a sigh of relief.
I got so disappointed that they were alive.....I mean I didn't want them to die but to make everyone believe that they died in such an emotional way and then go the childish way and "oh we reacted to your warning and just hid here and were alive after all". Just felt....meh
I had the opposite reaction. I swore when I found out they were alive haha. I was hoping Filoni would prove me wrong but he seriously has a problem killing named characters when it would serve the story so much better. They don’t do anything later anyway like Kallus, it also would have done so much for the character of Sabine and increased the weight, stakes and emotional investment. Just comes off as ridiculous for me tbh. I don’t feel like any characters with a name are pretty much ever in any danger despite the odds now in his projects
I mean yeah that's the character development right, learning that just because it killed your sister by the hands of Maul, it didn't suddenly lose its value. Maul Killed her, and could've done so with any weapon or just the force.
Darceus House Kryze was the probably the most prominent noble Clan at the time & to date. Bo Katan was considered a rightful Hier. Also Nobility doesn't pass kingship to commoners.
How to date a mandalorian girl: 1. Take her someplace "interesting" 2. Show her an explosive good time. 3. ONLY wave your "lightsaber" at her if she asks for it 4. Wear protection, preferrably Beskar
I really hope that the Empire was able to recreate the Duchess and that's what they used Mandalore. That's why the planet was supposedly glasses, the mandos are mostly dead, and the beskar is gone. That would be such an amazing callback
After you guys finish this season you should get Rick and Calvin to watch all the Season Trailers and the Mid-Season Trailers to show what you guys had to deal with if they haven't seen the trailers.
Now a meet up between Lord Wren and Thrawn would’ve been awesome as hell, maybe Thrawn gets to view Wren work live and afterwards decides to release him because while he respects the emperor’s vision he can’t in good conscience silence an artist voice such as his
That transport jumping stunt that Ezra did reminds of Jackie pulling off a similar stunt in "The Jackie Chan Adventures" (albeit just between cars of a normal trian, although one that was still driving off a cliff), to which one of the enemy mooks proclaimed that there was "no way he's human."
I wish the next episode had followed through on the implication that the weapon Sabine designed was used to kill her mother and brother, instead of revealing that they got away. _Rebels_ had a significant problem of going back and forth between dark and goofy, rather than sticking to progression of maturity like _The Clone Wars._
I mean regardless her weapon was just used to kill a bunch of her own clan, regardless of blood they were her people that SHE and her family protected and where above. Yes it would have been more impactful....but imagine you making a weapon and it being used to destroy a neighborhood you grew up in, probably murdering families, and friends you had known your whole life
Sure we can imagine that, but it takes away from both that impact and the danger of the weapon when the only two characters we the audience know are fine, they didn’t need to kill both of them, you can do the whole “lone survivor outside the blast” thing with one if needed, but neither of these characters go on to do anything significant next episode or for the series, we could have afforded to lose one
I’m hoping that Rick and Calvin don’t read these comments, but based on who Sabine loses later on in the season, I imagine the writers didn’t want to have Sabine lose two people very close to her in the season. Plus a big part of her arc is getting her family back together after losing it all. Killing other members of Clan Wren still gets the threat across
Joseph Simpson remember at this time Disney had already cancelled TCW. Then to add insult to injury they limited this new series Filoni created (Rebels) to Disney XD's demographic (kid friendly). Thus the animation budget & maturity level suffered drastically. Filoni despite all those limitations still managed to create an amazing narrative mythologically carrying the torch from Lucas that has enabled "The Mandalorian, Book Of Boba Fett, & soon Ahsoka" for Favreau's Mandoverse. Lastly the last 2 seasons of Rebel's have some of the best storytelling not just in Star Wars rather modern mythology. The last 3 yrs we've watched all these robust mythological seeds planted in His Filoniverse being reaped by Favreau's latest series for the betterment of the SW fandom.
Budget people all has to do with budget they have a limited budget 400,000 a episode Compared to 1 million each episode of the clone wars before season 7 Then they upped it to around 2 million an episode. More money on a episode Gives them more time to work on stuff
I love the is episode. Idk of you guys ship Sabine and Ezra, I do, but this episode to me justifies why. This entire season really. “Yeha im with her” and the way they joke around, smile at each other, and when Sabine rescues him on the edge of the cliff. Lots of reason to ship them in this episode alone
Spoilers below: Feels like fans like to jump around the possibility of a relationship between them, put the blinders on and ignore it. But all I'm saying is that for her to have lived in his tower, protected his planet and people for the entire GCW while waiting for him to come back and ultimately go with Ahsoka to find him and bring him home after he doesn't... If she laid a wet one on him the moment they reunite, surprise wouldn't be my first reaction! just saying!

Similar to what you said, you don't just give up that many years of your life unless you really care about the person. Edit: it would also be nice to have a star wars romance that doesn't end in tragedy
Exactly. We now know mandalore was destroyed. Sabine neither went back to the rebellion OR Mandalore. So where Sabine’s two families were (the ghost crew and her bio fam) she did not return to, and instead stayed where Ezra asked her to. And the first second she could, she went to find him. If that’s not love…
Honestly just upsetting with the inability of this show to actually kill any type of good guy named characters. Especially when their narrative purpose is done and they don’t do anything afterwards anyway and it would be way more impactful and sensical to have them die. The entire Ghost crew is GOATed, but season 4 is the one that really solidified both Ezra and Sabine in that status imo
Also Kanan. I think Kanan is the only mainstream Jedi master who never had an apprentice fall to the Dark side / fell to the Dark side himself.

I remember seeing this at Celebration 2017, was on that cliffhanger for months. It was one of the best and worst experiences ever.

Star wars restince was pretty disappointing to me. Would be a waste for them to watch.
Personally, I think with this episode, they were killing/harming less stormtroopers to really hit home with the burnt armor at the end
