My wife encourages the buy as well. Sold my Sur-Ron a decent while ago and I've been missing it ever since. I showed my wife the Talaria and she was like "You should buy one with your work bonus to replace the bike you sold!" I was like "...you don't have to tell me twice." Lol. She's always going on about how I never get myself anything and that our kids have everything they need. I really don't give her enough credit lol.

Just be aware that you cannot upgrade the Talaria controller. The Talaria has an encoder motor and the ASI controllers are designed for hall sensor motors like in the Sur Ron. Seeing as how most people that buy one of these bikes always want more power so if you do, get a Sur ron instead.
@@LarryRichelli Are we sure that ASI controller are incomparable with motors that utilize encoders? What about the other various options? I know controller options are already being worked on by Dirty Bike and the guys over at Sur Ron Shop. Controller options are undoubtedly coming.
@@nxdboi I am sure. E-moto Bros told me that the ASI controllers are not compatible with encoder motors. I would not count on it coming very soon. I sort of feel sorry for guys that buy these and then can't just order the same BAS4000 kit that the Sur Ron owners can. I know from having two Sur Rons that that kit is one of the first things I wanted.

Great Talaria video and I'll be looking for more from you. Seems to be just about all Sur-Ron videos on TH-cam and many of them are dealing with wheelies which I don't do. I'm 71 years old. I'm on the brink of buying a Talaria but I'd like more info on stock battery range going around 30 mph. I live in south Florida where it's mirror flat and most of my riding will be on the street. Keep up the great video work.
I will have to do the ultimate test because I am curious too. Haha. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks! I need to learn the bike more to figure out what mods to add. I am still dialing in my Super73 S2. I think for starters the Peg Support Rod is a must (when available) and a different throttle. Any suggestions?
@@SESSIONS73 definitely get the peg support. I let my buddy ride mine and he looped it trying to wheelie. Busted the peg mount. I have mine set up like a dirt bike ATM. Pretty insane. Next I think I’m gonna look into a super Moto setup with 17” street tires. The gritshift 2” riser is another great upgrade. Quality product that is very needed;)

When you enter the unlck mode at 8:25, is there a way to turn it back on in case a child rides afterward and you want to return it back to factory settings?
Hmmm. I'm not actually sure, but Eco mode should do the trick. I know that doesn't fix the temptation to hit the Sport Mode button.
I traded my Segway X260 for a brand new in the box black Super 73RX,l had 1700 miles on the X260 ,l liked it but being almost 50 years old l was in alot of pain when l went on longer trips even with the aftermarket seat so my question is do you have the same issues about your bike not being comfortable?
I think it's actually pretty comfortable. I think any bike you ride is going to wear you out after a while. That sucks you were in a lot of pain. I hope the RX helps. It's a sweet bike.
So I’ve been trying to unlock the speed limiter on mine but I have not gotten any luck yet. It seems pretty straight forward and simply but no luck. Is there any tricks?
Some bikes have a wire to clip. Mine didn't. You might need to look into that.

I don’t believe so, but a basic tool kit can get you set up in no time.

How long did it take to come in
@@tankdome37 mine took about a week and a couple days from shipment to delivery. Ebikezilla did their part and got it out ASAP. It was customs and Fedex that took their time with it

i'm not a big guy, 5'7, 135lbs, would the talaria be a little big for my size? would the sur ron better suit me?
SurRon out of the box is smaller, but you’d be OK on a Talaria. Without trying to sound insulting, you’re about the same size as my wife and she rides the Talaria just fine.

Did you clip the wire loop? The new ones are shipping with a wire that needs to be clipped prior to the sequence shown.

@@SESSIONS73 Huh! Guess before I go looking to cut anything I'll try the sequence first and test.
If you're curious and want to perform a visual inspection the wire loop (signal wire) should be located just under the horn cover. The wire loop is either white or brown, according to several post in the owners group.

I heard there is a problem with the battery wobbling around too much whilst riding, have you needed to fix this at all? cheers dude
Yeah, it's pretty noticeable. I bought a little inflatable bag from Home Depot. It's like a shim to hold doors and stuff in place, but it works perfectly.
Did you check the oil in your gearbox. Guys have said that theirs came low oil.
Not when I bought it, but have changed it and topped it off since at the 150 mile mark
love the bike but alot of ppl had issues with the battery making lots of noise as its not very tight fitted...but the sur ron is?? is it true?
It’s true, but there’s an inflatable shim that you can get from Amazon or Home Depot. A few pumps of the bulb and it’s super snug. No rattle. I wouldn’t let the battery noise deter you from getting it.

Yo!! I saw you said you were around 250lbs when you got this… mine is otw from amped bikes and I’m worried about the forks I’m getting. They said either FastAce or DNF which is upsetting. How’s riding as a bigger rider as far as the torque etc?
I’m literally losing weight to get better performance right now. Down to 240… just curious on how it effects the ride:) love your stuff brother.
You're gonna be fine with the FastAce, for sure.
My main complaint is how the steering head/frame is designed, it doesn't have the turning radius of the SurRon, and I'm not convinced the gearbox is worth it 🤔 too early to tell.
Watched the gritshift guys take apart the motor, basically identical, and like you said heavier.
Yeah, I noticed it's hard to make tight turns. I'll need to get it on more trails to really see,

110kg and you should be good to go.
As a bigger guy myself, I would highly recommend a bigger rear sprocket. HUGE difference. same top speed. roughly. I did 56 and NO regrets!
I'll definitely look into it. My wife will be riding it too. Will a bigger sprocket send her to the moon? She's about half my size.
@@SESSIONS73 uh yea. It might. I am just over 200lbs. From a stop not leaning or pulling back it picks the wheel straight up. I think they need a better throttle. Not linear at all.

Yeah, the power curve on the throttle really could use improvement. I usually use the eco/sport mode almost like a gear change to soften up the disproportional low end punch it has.

Just got my Talaria yesterday! I was told there was no trick to “unlock” all the power? I’d just have to cycle the battery through a few charge/de-charge and the top speed will be unlocked?
I’m also not a fan of the throttle, I want to pop the front wheel, and it’s never consistent! I was hoping a few battery cycles would fix this but seems like it’s the throttle itself? Possibly a better controller is needed like the BCA 400 on the surrons?
Brakes are also rather weak, but maybe I’m being to picky!
I'll be sure to make videos on different things I do to tweak the bike.
Yeah, that was my initial impression too, but there's actually a method to unlock the 3000w limiter it has from the factory. Here's what you do:
-Turn the key on
-Push and hold the start button for 6 seconds
-Pull the left (rear) brake 4 times
-Push the start button 4 times
You'll see a BIG difference in power after that. You may see a little more top speed and battery life after a few cycles, but the major improvement comes after turning off the power limit it comes with.
Thanks, tired it a few times and didn’t seem to do anything. I’ve hit top speed of 70-72km/h. Can’t consistently lift the front wheel. I find the throttle response not very consistent…

Same weight, smaller height. Just don't do anything on the resuspension like curb drops while she's on it. You could always upgrade the spring if you plan on riding tandem.
You over torqued the axle, just a heads up.
When it clicks, you stop. You pulled more past the click, hence over torqued. Happy trails!

Do you need to register and insure this within your city? In my country this wouldn't be road legal like a super73 is.
Yeah, Super73s are your best bet for cruising on roads. That's why my S2 won't be collecting dust any time soon.
we have 2 different versions in UK - one is road legal with the indicators (turn signals) & lights & a bigger display in the centre of the handle bar & the other is non road legal (same as in this video)
what is the talaria allowed to ride 45km/h or 80km/h
It's maxing out around 48 MPH (77.25 KPH)

do you not have the road legal Talaria Sting in America? i took one for a test ride here in the UK. are you allowed to ride the non road legal one like a bicycle over there?? we can’t here. we have to have the road legal one & have it registered with a plate same as a normal motorbike which is a shame. i can’t decide on whether or not to get it mainly due to the lack of range and lack of places you can legally ride it off road over here …..

two things,, 1 talaria made the gearbox so it cut noise,, i cant hear my talaria over my mates shit ron, 2 talaria made the gearbox so it stops the maintinence of said band,,,
You were riding in the street. Does this need to be licensed ? Is this an electric motorcycle or an electric bicycle?

Depends on the type of riding. Around town, you'll get way more than that. Steep hill climbs and aggressive riding, it sucks the amps right up.

Either I got used to it, or it wasn't as bad as I heard it was supposed to be. Also, my handlebar end cap was jammed into the grips, making it stick, so. I adjusted that and all seems well.

@@mikeray353 Yep, get a new headlight. And while you're at it, the On/off switch. Also, the foot peg bracket brace is a must if you're going to do some offroading. Check out gritshift.com?ref=9 for some great stuff.

I am still using the stock throttle. Either it's broken in or I am used to it now.
@@SESSIONS73 Cool. Sounds like it’s not quite as bad as some say. I was under the impression it was just way too abrupt off the line. As long as I can maneuver through the trails then it’s cool until they offer another aftermarket solution. Have a good one.

batteries are not 2K, surron have been updating their bike every year, 6:30 you dont half talk some Pish 8kg heavier and both use same material frame. surron regen is tunable, inaccurate speedo has Fckall to do with instructions to remove limiter, 14:30 thats why you cover brakes and leave motor cutouts on, quick dab = no more whiskey throttle accident about to happen.

For just $1000 more you could get a dual sport motorcycle that will outlast that bike by 50 years. You don’t have to wait to recharge it and you look 100x cooler.

I have a Suzuki DRZ400 and I am picking up one of these bikes as it’s fun to have different types of toys to play with. If you’re on a budget and can only get one I would go for a dual sport motorcycle….
Going to wait another year while the Moto Crossers put this beast through it's paces ? The Surron is a well proven bike with a different air-cooled motor, lets see if Talaria holds up to Surron standards ?? LOl
You should take a look at @talaria boys channel. They really put these things through the ringer.

I know, no pedals, no pedal support, so illegal. as a motorcycle with registration. if you don't have that you are not insured. smart or not. here in europe the rules are very strict. that's because a lot of accidents happen here. So

They have quite a few build quality issues
-lack of grease if any at all in steering head bearing
-some bolts over torqued , some finger tight
- lack of oil in gear box
Hopefully they get everyth8ng sorted out , cause I want one.

Cool video I'm going to try the cheat code to unlock the telaria instead of cutting the wire thanks for posting it I get my telaria tomorrow had a sir run for 6 months got stolen out of the back of my truck and I had a big old lock and chain on it so it's been about a month now that I haven't had any bike and so excited to try the telaria I can size up the difference in both of them I'm sure I'll be happy I hope the guys that stole my surron whiskey throttles it and they fall in their ass hard

@@HanggliderRosey It's not necessarily about the pedals. Those are more of a decoy. You'll want to check with local laws, Forest Service laws, etc. Have fun and be safe!

There are some battery upgrades that do. I may have exaggerated the price on stock batteries, but you can't just buy one unless someone is privately selling them.
