I just received my purple, orchid and white for my Gingham blanket. I am getting started. When I finish I will post it on Facebook. Will be doing baby blankets next. This one is for my bed. Thank you for your videos. You explain yourself very well. I am 64 yrs. old and have been knitting and crocheting since I was 7 years old. My mom taught me how to do both. I will be doing knitting and crocheting for my local hospital.
That is a wonderful blessing that you will get to hold your great ,great, granddaughter in your arms.Wrap the baby in the beautiful blanket you are making .😇💕🌸🙏🏻
*ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE 👶💝😊! YOUR COLOR CHOICES ARE GORGEOUS TOGETHER 💝💝💝!* OUR YOUNGEST GRANDDAUGHTER "ADI 💝" IS 10 YEARS OLD BUT SHE STILL LOVES FOR ME TO MAKE HER NEW BLANKETS 😊💝! SHE WILL LOVE THIS 💝💝💝! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING 😊💝& GOD BLESS 🙏✝💝!
I've never crocheted a gingham blanket...this is going to be lovely. Love your soft voice. You're an excellent teacher and mentor. Thanks for your help and advice. God's blessing on you!
I have just completed my first gingham blanket, thank you so much for the tutorial. I used red, light grey and a darker grey and i am in love with the completed project. Very easy tutorial
I think the carried thread gives a nice look, makes each block match each other more, or compliment each other. For those who are worried about it being seen, you can always make sure you crochet under the carried yarn and hide it under the next row of stitches, when you put your hook in under the two loops of the stitch, you also pick up the carried yarn, just make sure you allow slack in the carried yarn so it wont pull the work to much together. Hope this make sense. You make good videos, and I currently binge watch every one of them. and look forward to many more!
Yes!!! Finally a tutorial for the blanket I want to make, was not sure how to carry yarn and now I know. I Love the fact you can see the carried yarn as it gives a fantastic tartan/gingham look. Thank you so much, my blanket will be made in white, silver grey and charcoal grey. Starting it this afternoon. Happy out. Linda Ireland
I just finished making this blanket for my great niece and it's absolutely beautiful! I really liked carrying the yarn through the project once I adjusted to the concept it was pretty simple. Your instruction is very easy to follow. Thank you!
Everytime I see this adorable baby blanket, I can smell baby powder, baby bottom (clean, of course), and milk. Boy does that bring me back in time. Now, my son is 26 and going for his Master”s degree in Biomolecular science. Amazing!! I might make it just for the wonderful memories it brings back. Thank you. I
I've crochet for yrs but never carried my yarn i just love your method so neat and alot easier i have used caron yarn and its lovely love how you promoted this yarn but you did not over due it and got to the project your a great teacher thank you
It’s 2/14/22. I’m watching your gingham tutorials. Very easy, or so I thought you are so right about a swatch. I’m having trouble getting my block changed to lay on top of the last row as you have done. Something simple as sc 10 change on the 10th should be easy but I have had to start over several times. I’ll get it though. I really want to make this pattern. Thank you for your teaching.
Thank you for referring us to your blog! This pattern is not too difficult, per se, but of course, after making as many as you have, the time saving tips, and the tweeking details to adapt to different colors or weight of your project is fantastic. No one should just sit down and try to put their yarn on the hook and go stitch for stitch with you on this video having not done a few extra minutes of time in actually learning a few well meaning, helpful tactics on completing this. It is a but "fussy" on the first two rows, but not impossible. Starting out knowing how to prevent the non working yarn from getting tangled with the others is priceless. Probably a game changer for others, like me, who attempted this before, and got too frustrated. Thank you again..
The majority of projects are tricky the first two rows, especially if you’re using single crochet. Ive been crocheting almost 50 years and it almost never fails to surprise me!!!! It always amazes me how many new crocheters just want to dive in and complete a project with just a quick read through. If it was that easy, people wouldnt have to crochet for 25-30 YEARS being considered an experienced crocheter. Also, why not read what other tricks, hacks, what have you, that others have learned. Crocheters and knitters dont have to reinvent the wheel every time they try something new.
Love this pattern! Your instructions were so simple to follow. I followed you as you made the sample piece and love the results. Can't wait to make a throw size. Thank you.
I really like your channel. I think your instructions and tone of voice are super relaxing. My daughter is having twins so I want to make this blanket for her, X2. My sister and sister in law just had babies also so I will be busy looking through your patterns. Thank you.
I made this and it turned out beautiful!! I did my border a little different tho. I did 8 sc in the loops and didn't do the final crochet around the edge. Thank you so much for posting the how to video.!
You are a gem to share so much of yourself. Thank you. I love the pattern and the way you teach. I also use the same brand of yarn for most of the afghans I've made.
You are such a wonderful teacher! I love your videos! I am a beginner and I could follow you very well! Can't wait to see your other patterns. I have a new great-granddaughter and this would be perfect. 😊 thank you so much! Lord bless you!!!!
I just stumbled upon your video and I love it! I wanted to comment and say how wonderful the quality of your video is! I don’t know how many I watch & the person is crocheting outside of the camera view LOL! Yours are fabulous, thank you!
I realize this video is a couple of years old, but I just discovered you! This is such a great video! I’m definitely giving this a try after I finish the Afghan, mushroom and scarf that are next on my agenda!
Wow! Regarding your comment about your older tutorials, I've watched a couple a long time ago. What a difference! You should be very proud of yourself. The fact that, instead of giving up and quitting, you dug in and improved is so very inspiring, not to mention a valuable life lesson. Your designs and color choices are unique and gorgeous! I've watched countless tutorials on what to do with yarn when using multiple colors throughout a pattern. All of them felt so awkward and frustrating to me. Your way seems easy and simple, almost like common sense. I really like the look of carrying the yarn and crocheting over it. It's very subtle but makes the entire blanket look better. Thank you so much! You have another new subscriber. ☺
I love this blanket. Your video was so helpful. I do have some bumps from the carryover thread popping through. I thought I read some where where you discussed this? It still is adorable. 💖thank you!
I love your voice - its so calming and reassuring! I did two gingham blankets, one in brown, cream and white and one in purple, pink(ish) and white, but I love your pinks and white. Thank you for your tutorial. From Norfolk, England
This is the cutest darn blanket I think I’ve ever seen! I feel like I’m still a beginner so I’m going to do a little bit more practicing and then attempt this blanket😊
Je ne sais pas si vous connaissez la langue française mais je vous félicite. C’est très joli, je vais essayer de le faire. Vous avez en plus une voix douce qui est très apaisante.😊 Thanks For your TUTO. I will see more of them. Hello from France

You are an awesome instructor!! I have wanted to try a gingham blanket but hesitated until I watched your video. I'm so excited and can't wait to go pick out the colors. I do have a question though. How much yarn does is take to make a baby blanket (crib size)? I will share when done. Thank you.
I love this and you do a great show and tell on your videos! Thank you so much! On weaving in the tails and not doing a knot at end.....I have always wondered what's to keep them from coming out after repeated washings?
I love how this blanket is turning out. I get a lot of compliments. When someone asks me about it I send this video to them. I absolutely love this!
