Most people always make comparisons with the newest and best on the market, but that's really unfair. It is what it is, and does a really good job for the price. I've a couple more of these older Pentaxes, which I'll review over the next few months.
I have the Pentax *istDL and a Pentax K100D both trouble free 6 megapixel gems I bought cameras new one for myself and one for my son. My son gave me the K100D last year as he bought a Pentax K50
Good find! Old pentax K mount lenses will fit, but will be manual focus. Pentax AF lenses are widely available secondhand ar little cost and 3rd party lens manufacturers such as sigma or tamron make pentax AF lenses at low cost. It really depends on what you want to photograph.
@@PhotoWays I want to do a lot of scenery and old buildings, things like that so I been looking into some 28mms on Ebay. I read they would be very good for such a thing.
Today you can get much better K20D for almost the same price, but with CMOS, IBIS, glass pentaprism, front and rear wheel, basic live-view and weather sealed body with better ergonomy... Concerning flash option, you can use any flash that has central contact and does not have high voltage on contact.
Hi! I just bought the same camera at a yard sale. I’ve tried different types of SD cards with different mg but I keep getting Memory Card Error. I was wondering what SD and mg you use?

You're right, of course, but would any of those things make me a better photographer?
I would argue that the 6 megapixel sensor is better than 14 megapixel CMOS.
I have one since 2006 and cost £220 and is still a wonderful SLR camera
It's perhaps a little limited for some uses, but for general photography it's great.

Nothing bigger than 16gb. Have you tried to format the card in the camera?
