I think James Marsden was the perfect choice for Tom. He has experience with animated characters. He makes it believable. He actually makes it look like he’s talking to a fictional character, not talking to air.

The whole “Sonic in the real world!” Thing doesn’t really feel out of place in this case so it isn’t really out of place in this case, he’s been with humans BEFORE.
Probably felt weird because sonic actually has humans on mobius. Doesn't make sense for him to find other humans from another world. Even robotnik is from mobius. But it is what it is.

Eggman was actually from earth cause he isn't the original robotnik that sonic knows. But that happened after sonic was an adult. The movie should have been the original robotnik from mobius.

I like how the movie had the echidna tribe kill Sonic's "mother" because whenever Knuckles gets introduced, there will automatically be tension between the two. If they go along with the games, Robotnik will deceive Knuckles into believing Sonic is after the emeralds and Sonic will have animosity towards Knuckles because of what his tribe did. Then, naturally they end up working together to defeat Robotnik

This movie was literarly saved by the fans and turned Sonic from a humanoid monstrosity to a masterpiece and open the door for more sequels to come but also more video game movies to be made in the future .

@@SoapCkat The only true VA for the job of bringing Knuckles to life on te bi screen would be Dan Green but I'd settle for Chris Hemsworth, the Rock, or someone else with a deep voice that can be serious, even if they're not well known. My point is that Pratt's voice doesn't fit. It can be kind of deep but it's too laid back.

Idris Elba is Knuckles
Chris Pratt could've worked out for the role...however, James Moresen was a better choice for the role, over all.
And I would've loved to have seen a few of the deleted scenes be in the final production of the movie, it could've worked out well for the story...and I agree, the lizard creature just doesn't feel like it would've worked in the story.

I hope that in the sequel when Sonic goes super he mentions that he's like a super Saiyan. If Sonic can refer to someone as Obi Wan Kenobi, then he can make a Dragon Ball reference.

This is probably the fan in me nitpicking, but "Super Sonic" happens when he collects all 7 Chaos Emeralds.
"Super Sonic" does look very similar to a Supe Saiyan though, probably because the creator of Sonic and Akira Toriyama(Creator of DragonBall, DBZ) used each other's ideas and put their own spin on it.

Honestly I’m really happy that they took the script of just a huge everything in one movie sonic movie and simplified it heavily because it introduced the possibility to continue the series and have excitement for sequels.

I don’t actually think they had him... they said somewhere that when they showed the design, a fan working on the movie said they would get backlash, so they started working on another design, but released the trailer anyways. They got the expected backlash, but they were already working on another design so it was okay. (I don’t think this is exactly how it happened, I’m just trying to remember what I heard)

The concept art remind me of Chaos. For me it appears this is his solid form then after gathering all the chaos emeralds or master emerald transforms into Perfect Chaos. Or with each emerald acquired he goes threw the transformation stages as chaos leading up to his final form. Didn't even think of Lyric but that would lead to another plot.

Rose Supreme when I say no I mean no it’s well, The zone isn’t particularly known because it looks good , people don’t take the time to study how beautiful the environment looks because compared to the other stages in the game it honestly don’t, it is only known for that catchy music I am being extremely gimmicky. basically I’m saying it’s not well known for how it looks so people aren’t going to often recognize elements from it unless it’s some thing memorable like the music or how gimmicky it was. All this to say. I don’t exactly blame him for not noticing, and hell maybe they plan on having that secondary main villain be the one that created the labyrinth zone and left his face on it in the multiple paintings in the level

I think Longclaw survived the echidna attack, and shortly after, she found a fox cub. She named him Miles Prower, but he was born with 2 tails, so he liked the nickname Tails. Several years later, Longclaw is old and weak, so she tells Tails to go find Sonic on a planet called Earth and gives Tails a ring. Tails uses his ring that Longclaw gave him to travel to Green Hills. Tails finds Sonic and then Robotnik is shown using Sonic’s quill to build Metal Sonic. He uses Metal Sonic’s power to go back to Earth. When Tails travelled to Earth, he dropped a ring on the floor. Knuckles picks it up and travels to Earth. When Robotnik lands on Earth again, he finds Knuckles and convinces him to join his side. Robotnik, now under the nickname “Eggman”, tells Knuckles that Sonic is the bad guy. Eggman, Metal and Knuckles eventually find Sonic and Tails. Sonic takes a ring out of his bag to escape back to his home world. Him and Tails escape, but Eggman’s team don’t make it through the portal. Longclaw left Tails a piece of paper which explains the power of the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic and Tails find all of the Emeralds and go back to Earth. They end up finding Tom and Maddie held hostage by Eggman. Eggman tells them if they don’t give him the Emeralds, he will kill Tom and Maddie. Sonic hands them over to Eggman. He also steals the Master a Emerald from Knuckles. This is the point where Knuckles realises that Eggman is bad, so he joins Sonic’s side. Eggman tries to use the power of the Chaos Emeralds, but he realises they are fake. Sonic has the real ones and does as the instructions say. He stands in a circle of Emeralds and becomes gold in colour. Eggman and Metal try to stop the golden blur, but they can’t catch up with him. The Emeralds made Sonic more powerful and faster than he was before, so he frees Tom and Maddie. Sonic uses his powers to break Metal Sonic in half and send Eggman and his ship flying into space. His ship crashes and he tries to find a way home. Sonic becomes normal and tells Tom and Maddie that he wants to go live on his home planet again. Tom and Maddie begin to cry, followed by Sonic. Sonic tells them he’ll visit again. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles all go back to their planet, and the credits begin. After that, we see a flashback. Gerald Robotnik is working on a project to cure his granddaughter’s illness. We see a black hedgehog, known as Shadow. He appears to be unconscious in a capsule, but as the camera zooms in on his face, his eyes open.
that would be the best scenario for a sequel to this movie, but adding too many characters at once would not be the best idea.

3:00 Actually when I looked to this concept, I recognized the Evans face from a scene in the first Avengers movie, when he finds HYDRA weapons inside the Helicarrier (the concept artist just picked Cap's face and ajusted the lighting to fit in the concept art, but it's clearly from that scene)
7:13 That could explain why the bonus levels appear in the credits, which appeared in the map.
8:08 Those rocks are actually a reference to the sculptures from Labyrinth Zone in Sonic 1, they probably based that Lizard in those sculptures but switched them to the Echidnas. Maybe the Echidnas live in the Labyrinth?
Edit: and it seems that Baby Sonic was gonna be an actual Baby in the original movie hence why he was called Baby Sonic in the ads they had instead of being a toddler (Babies dont talk, like the deleted scene, but in the final movie he does talk)
*Correction:*
The stone carvings referencing Labyrinth Zone resemble owls, thus they tie in to Longclaw and her backstory that were expanded upon in the novelization of the movie.
It's good to know a group of people could come together and actually have good ideas for a well established property for once.
I think the second one will introduce tails and knuckles, knuckles being the bad guy who is being told by egg man through communication that sonic destroyed his clan and in the end sonic and tails beat knuckles and rhen befriend him.
In the third one I would have the death egg but in stead of the battle happening in sonics world the death egg goes to earth this would be a two parter with metal sonic being a minor bad guy and chaos as the main baddie in the first as characters from sonics world start popping up (amy, rouge, chao, creme and cheese, big and the chaotics) and then in the second part egg man gets desperate and uses his farthers research and resurrects shadow the hedgehog (same back story as normal) and then in the end shadow and sonic team up and turn super sonic (shadow lives ) egg man presumably dies in the explosion
In the fifth wich is my last idea a time traveler called silver comes to the future and needs shadow and sonics help as they where heroes in there future, he needs help because evil monsters came out of nowhere and destroyed all humans, they go back and meet the resistance but the only inportant ones are silver and blaze in the end infinite (or anothet villain) fights the three hedgehogs with them even turning super but being took down and silver has a moment jumps forward and remembers sad scenes and uses the rest of his power to defeat infinite heathly injuring silver ,when all seems safe egg man apears apears with a big grin on his face and he starts to clap as sonic knotices the giant deathegg glooming apon them as it starts to charge up silver cant do anything and sonic and shadow race to silver as blaze and the three hedgehogs vanish back to the present.

at least sonic the hedgehog 2 was good. i could imagine the series being anything other than what is it. having tails in the first movie would've been a disaster. he originally shows up in the 2nd game so it makes sense that its the 2nd movie he comes in

With Sonic 2 coming very soon and seeing the first trailer, I applaud Fowler for his perspective that he wanted to slowly ease audiences into Sonic's universe as time goes on and as they continue the film series, bring in more elements and iconography from the games. I too think it would have been easy to overwhelm general audiences and new fans if much of the iconography from over 30 years of games and tv series if it was one single movie, but now that they can make more films, they have more leeway than they did back in 2015/16/17.
