The whole thing about Mahoraga is that it would never actually lose in a long drawn out fight. The anime took a huge liberty with that,but I'm damn glad they did cause it looked amazing.
I mean, it isn't really that drawn out, it's what, the space of a few minutes real time most likely, and Sukuna is largely just enjoying himself. Mahoraga also can't just kill Sukuna through adaptation alone in this regard, at least not in this time span, because Sukuna is still much stronger than it, and Mahoraga itself is most dangerous when it adapts a perfect counter to your technique. Gojo can also absolutely both one shot Mahoraga, and could probably win an extended trade with it if he understands how it works. The only time Mahoraga is truly dangerous to people at that level is when it has a competent Sorcerer behind it that fully understands how to utilize it to its full potential. Mahoraga wins extended fights because it becomes immune to your attacks and then figures out a way to harm you. It started using CE to deal with CE reinforcement, and also adapted to cutting/slashing CTs, but that's not really enough here. It would also need to adapt sufficiently to overcome Sukuna's durability and RCT, while becoming better at hand to hand, and also prepare itself for a Domain Expansion, all of which do take time for it. I think this is more based off of Mahoraga's interactions with a certain Sorcerer where it took a while to adapt to his CT more than Sukuna's initial victory over it.

Had the fight actually lasted 15 minutes with Sukuna constantly hitting Mahoraga,then Mahoraga would've surely adapted to a point where it could kill Sukuna.

Yes. Sukuna was able to figure out what mahoragas ability was after using dismantle twice and cleave once. He then uses his domain followed by the fire arrow. The Mangas fight was shorter but it did a great job at showing that sukuna can adjust to his opponents quickly. I will not spoil any future fights but let's just say that sukuna likes to "study" the abilities of his opponents before countering and that's assuming the opponent survives his initial onslaught. The anime had sukuna take much longer to figure out mahoragas ability.

People say this is short, but fights in JJK are usually VERY short. Gege really makes a point that people are fighting for their lives and will finish the fight ASAP. There are very few instances of battles being drawn out for long than necessary, and really only stalemates get dragged out.
3 instances in total iirc, Mahito vs Yuji, spoilers * Gojo vs Sukuna, and then The Sukuna Raid all reach in the teens for chapter length vs others in the series usually wrap by like 5 at the highest

The manga made Sukuna even more impressive because of how ridiculously fast it went. Honestly the Go/jo vs. Sukuna fight is bizzarely long for JJK manga standards now that we look back at it. I wonder how mamy episodes the fight will end up being when they finally push out that part of the anime in like 8 years

To be fair, a LOT of the Gojo/Sukuna fight was spent on the characters watching from the sidelines explaining and trying to understand what was happening. If you skip over the explanation moments the actual action of the fight is very short, especially when you think of how many things were happening within split seconds. I mean, still one of the longer fights in the series, but not nearly as long in-universe as the 14 chapters makes us believe.
You gotta understand, that for us manga readers, Sukuna vs Mahoraga was STRAIGHT HEAT. The anime improved and expanded the fight into one of the most hype fights in the entire series.

The anime definitely did a better job at showing just how much destruction Sukuna caused because when I first read the manga, I didn't get why Yuji felt so guilty since I thought Sukuna only killed 2 random sorcerer girls from Geto's crew and then Mahoraga and that blonde femboy. The anime made me realise how many innocents really died there and why it was called the Shibuya massacre, and it definitely makes more sense as to why later in the manga, Yuji feels so guilty after I watched the anime. Basically, my point is that the anime is much better than the manga.
So you're telling me MAPPA animators could've met their families if they didn't stretch out the fight. Not to mention, they reanimated and added extra scenes for the Blu-Ray.
Yes it was a great one, Mahoraga is a opponent that's it's not good to keep fighting with during too much time, because more you are giving him opportunity to adapt it's more you're near to loose and in this anime fight Sukuna really use too much slashes if there was a second adaptation that making his skin more harder or intangible to the dismantle and cleave, that would have forced Sukuna to use other parts of his secret technique or loose...the strategy in the manga is great, it's also great in the anime because they respect the manga writing with the adding scenes, they show what really happened when you don't one shot Mahoraga faster and Mahoraga was adapt to other this things in the anime like water, which perhaps can slow down the process of another adaptation...Sukuna also prove this with two technique immediately after adaptation.
People say Sukuna negged him in the manga but keep in mind he also got all the same adaptations just as quick if it went a minute longer and Sukuna didn’t have fire arrow he could of lost
Meh not really. Sukunas domain at 15 fingers did an extreme amount of damage even after mahoraga had already started adapting to slashing attacks. Had sukuna just pulled out his domain from the start, it would've been an instant clap. At 20f, mahoraga would be wasted. Gojo was extremely confident in being able to one-shot an unadapted mahoraga.

Just shows you how quickly everything was happening because even the Dagon fight in the manga was shorter but you gotta appreciate the deeper dive the anime gives into each of their abilities and techniques too so both are pretty good in their own respects

The entire reason the manga fight was so short is because he had to quickly find a way to kill it before it fully adapted, and unless he has more things than just the fire stuff up his sleeve, Sukuna really cut it close with that one.

Mahoraga only got hit by 4 Infinite Voids before it adapted to it entirely, and took I think only two Reds before Gojo wasn’t willing to use that as an attack on Mahoraga anymore to further speed up its adaptation - instead planning out his big Purple to try and one-shot it.

On the other hand, Limitless is a very complex CT with complex mechanisms due to which it took Mahoraga(the wheel) more time to adapt to limitless.
Actually not In the manga mahoraga adaptation was so fast that he adapted to sukuna after 3 attacks. It was only thanks to sukuna knowledge of CE that made him survive.

Sukuna vs Mahoraga is a good example of what anime is supposed to do. It's similar to Obito vs Kakashi. The fights in the manga weren't that long or highly anticipated. But, enhancing the fights while making sure they still fit the characters in place (the past between Obito and Kakashi, and Sukuna enjoying a fight and studying his opponents), makes for a top notch adaptation
Now you've boiled my hyped into never before seen levels. If their creativity led to that glorious fight, I can't even imagine what is about to come in the future seasons.

Mahoraga didnt stand a chance against sukuna in the manga. He did 2 slashes, domain expansion and fire arrow. The anime portrayed that mahoraga walked through and tanked malevolent shrine like a boss, but mahoraga screamed in pain in the manga and was crawling until sukuna finished mahoraga before he could fully adapt
And the fight would've been fine this way. They really made it too long and overdamatic because oooh we gotta destroy half of town its sooo cool. Reminds me of some stupid godzilla or snyder movies where you gotta waste 15 minutes on the fight

No fire is not what inherently worked also mahoraga is almost never summoned because it kills pretty much everyone it comes across. Mahoraga adapts to anything and everything as long as it doesn’t one shot him and there’s enough time to adapt. The only reason he died to the fire was because it was an attack he hadn’t adapted too that had enough power to obliterate him.

Nah. JJK has some of the best action and panelling since the DBZ manga. The anime has incredible action don’t get me wrong and ofc an animation is better than photos, but to say it did wonders for JJK is disrespectful to Geges talent in drawing fights. And I don’t think there’s much difference story telling wise

I remember during the shibuya incident the fight in the manga thst everyone talked about what Jogo vs sukuna. The anime did do that fight justice but damn, they really put all their eggs in on basket by turning the short beat down that is sukuna vs mahoraga into a massive fight. It did pay off amazingly though
In the manga Sukuna just wanted to quickly know what he did so when he switches vessel he'll have an idea with what he's dealing with while in the Anime he was genuinely letting it adapt to prolong the fight since he didn't had so much fun in ages before he let it die and getting a couple of ideas on how to use it with Megumi
The Choso vs. Kenjaku fight was also inflated to a ridiculous spectacle, you could do a video like this for that one. IIRC in the manga it was just a couple of panels, not even a full chapter.
pretty much, since Mahoraga's adaptation is way faster than what's shown in the anime, Sukuna was immediately forged to hit the domain + arrow combo, worst part is Sukuna probably had something other than the fire to kill Mahoraga, perhaps a third technique
I really didn’t like how they changed the fight in the anime. Like obviously the action and animation was gorgeous, but the amount of shit they were doing was just ridiculous, and it made Sukuna look like an idiot as he just fired slashes like a machine gun into Mahoraga - which, based on how it works, would have made it completely immune to his slashing attacks very quickly.
It's crazy how vastly superior the anime fight is to the manga version, which was hardly a fight at all. They actually made Mahoraga a believable huge threat in the anime, something the manga kinda failed to do. Gives me hope for a certain future farmer fight to get the shine it deserved and was robbed of since Gege was clearly rushing that part of that manga.

They fought for 13 chapters, and the anime adapts 3 chapters per episode, so like 4-5 episodes
Not really because Mahoraga himself didn't seem very impressive. You barely see him fight. The anime is what made him actually seem dangerous.

To be fair, a LOT of the Gojo/Sukuna fight was spent on the characters watching from the sidelines explaining and trying to understand what was happening. If you skip over the explanation moments the actual action of the fight is very short, especially when you think of how many things were happening within split seconds.
I mean, still one of the longer fights in the series, but not nearly as long in-universe as the 14 chapters makes us believe.
You gotta understand, that for us manga readers, Sukuna vs Mahoraga was STRAIGHT HEAT. The anime improved and expanded the fight into one of the most hype fights in the entire series.

The anime definitely did a better job at showing just how much destruction Sukuna caused because when I first read the manga, I didn't get why Yuji felt so guilty since I thought Sukuna only killed 2 random sorcerer girls from Geto's crew and then Mahoraga and that blonde femboy. The anime made me realise how many innocents really died there and why it was called the Shibuya massacre, and it definitely makes more sense as to why later in the manga, Yuji feels so guilty after I watched the anime. Basically, my point is that the anime is much better than the manga.
But the manga showed Sukuna’s domain destroying everything in a 140 meters radius and leaving nothing but dust.

Yes it was a great one, Mahoraga is a opponent that's it's not good to keep fighting with during too much time, because more you are giving him opportunity to adapt it's more you're near to loose and in this anime fight Sukuna really use too much slashes if there was a second adaptation that making his skin more harder or intangible to the dismantle and cleave, that would have forced Sukuna to use other parts of his secret technique or loose...the strategy in the manga is great, it's also great in the anime because they respect the manga writing with the adding scenes, they show what really happened when you don't one shot Mahoraga faster and Mahoraga was adapt to other this things in the anime like water, which perhaps can slow down the process of another adaptation...Sukuna also prove this with two technique immediately after adaptation.

Meh not really. Sukunas domain at 15 fingers did an extreme amount of damage even after mahoraga had already started adapting to slashing attacks. Had sukuna just pulled out his domain from the start, it would've been an instant clap.
At 20f, mahoraga would be wasted. Gojo was extremely confident in being able to one-shot an unadapted mahoraga.

The entire reason the manga fight was so short is because he had to quickly find a way to kill it before it fully adapted, and unless he has more things than just the fire stuff up his sleeve, Sukuna really cut it close with that one.
@@LoudWaffle not really. Even against Gojo, the fight was long as shit and it still took really long for Mahoraga to fully adapt. In the anime it's a similar prospect with the difference being that Sukuna just realised the technique later.

Mahoraga only got hit by 4 Infinite Voids before it adapted to it entirely, and took I think only two Reds before Gojo wasn’t willing to use that as an attack on Mahoraga anymore to further speed up its adaptation - instead planning out his big Purple to try and one-shot it.
@@gurnoorsekhon6402nah you missed the point. Dismantle is a simple "slashing" technique due to which Mahoraga was able to adapt to Sukuna's CT within a few attacks. On the other hand, Limitless is a very complex CT with complex mechanisms due to which it took Mahoraga(the wheel) more time to adapt to limitless.
It's amazing how they stretched 4-5 pages into an entire episode, in the best way too.

Sukuna vs Mahoraga is a good example of what anime is supposed to do. It's similar to Obito vs Kakashi. The fights in the manga weren't that long or highly anticipated. But, enhancing the fights while making sure they still fit the characters in place (the past between Obito and Kakashi, and Sukuna enjoying a fight and studying his opponents), makes for a top notch adaptation
some scenes from the manga are missing while there are scenes in the video that aren't in the manga lol.
I like the fact they expanded the fight. The intensity of the anime fight adds to Sukuna’s desire to takeover Megumi.
Now you've boiled my hyped into never before seen levels.
If their creativity led to that glorious fight, I can't even imagine what is about to come in the future seasons.

The Kashimo-Sukuna fight goes super quick because it's Sukuna showing his love to Kashimo. If you drag out the fight, then I think it loses its impact.

The anime portrayed that mahoraga walked through and tanked malevolent shrine like a boss, but mahoraga screamed in pain in the manga and was crawling until sukuna finished mahoraga before he could fully adapt

No fire is not what inherently worked also mahoraga is almost never summoned because it kills pretty much everyone it comes across. Mahoraga adapts to anything and everything as long as it doesn’t one shot him and there’s enough time to adapt. The only reason he died to the fire was because it was an attack he hadn’t adapted too that had enough power to obliterate him.

The anime did do that fight justice but damn, they really put all their eggs in on basket by turning the short beat down that is sukuna vs mahoraga into a massive fight. The Choso vs. Kenjaku fight was also inflated to a ridiculous spectacle, you could do a video like this for that one. IIRC in the manga it was just a couple of panels, not even a full chapter.

pretty much, since Mahoraga's adaptation is way faster than what's shown in the anime, Sukuna was immediately forged to hit the domain + arrow combo, worst part is Sukuna probably had something other than the fire to kill Mahoraga, perhaps a third technique
I really didn’t like how they changed the fight in the anime. Like obviously the action and animation was gorgeous, but the amount of shit they were doing was just ridiculous, and it made Sukuna look like an idiot as he just fired slashes like a machine gun into Mahoraga - which, based on how it works, would have made it completely immune to his slashing attacks very quickly.

It's crazy how vastly superior the anime fight is to the manga version, which was hardly a fight at all. They actually made Mahoraga a believable huge threat in the anime, something the manga kinda failed to do. Gives me hope for a certain future farmer fight to get the shine it deserved and was robbed of since Gege was clearly rushing that part of that manga.
While it did add a lot of stuff i wouldnt say thats a bad thing because it resulted in one of the most visually stunning sequences in animation
