Guys, before commenting, check out the second part of the video! I corrected the Black Flash, provided more details on Hollow Purple, and explained manga exclusive abilities ;)
Correction on the Hollow Purple: It doesn't erase things, it's rips them apart through space on the atomic level. Red pushes, and blue pulls. What happens if you push and pull at the same time? You rip it.
Correction: Max Technique and Max Output aren’t the same the thing. Max Output is what you described - Pushing a Technique to its highest strength Max Technique is (most of the time) a visually and effectively different technique from its base version. (Like for Example, Jogo’s MT is Meteor if he was to use Max Output it’d be just hotter fire)
Max Technique would be more of an extention of said technique(Ember Insects(Jogo), Hairpin(Nobara), all the B Manip(Choso, Yuji and Kamo) moves, etc), but just in it's most powerful form. Thing is, only a few characters have Max Techniques, most have a "Strongest Move(Hollow Purple(Infinity), Mahoraga(10 Shadows), Black Hole(Star Rage), Perfect Sphere(Construction), etc)", but very rarely a Max Technique. Petition to make the divided one's max technique either be a mini supernova(red), or yuki's blackhole on crack(blue)
Getting angry doesn’t increase the amount of cursed energy you have, cursed users need to keep tight control over their emotions to use cursed energy effectively , the amount of cursed energy one can hold seems to be genetic
the amount of cursed energy you have is limited since birth which is why some sorcerers while MAY have the skills to expand their own domain, dont have the CE reserve to actually do it
Yeah, he understood wrong this part It actually only increases it's output, not it's quantity, but with the downside that the user may not be able to get a hold of themselfs
3:39 black flash doesn’t 2.5x your power, it raises it to the power of 2.5. So the example’s black flash power output would be: 100^2.5=(100^0.5)^5=10^5=100,000 so much, much stronger than 250. Black flash is crazy
Gege himself said that he made a mistake And since cursed energy is negative, power of 2.5 means that you get imaginary cursed energy, which isn't a thing in JJK
@@thenatron6136 La energía maldita es energía imaginaria. Y Gege solo hablo de que le dio valor 0 a la energía maldita y que el multiplicador no funcionaria por ello aplicando números.
@@thenatron6136 cursed energy is negative ENERGY, not just "negative" the amount of cursed energy you have is most definitely positive lmfao also, "positive energy" or "reverse cursed technique" is produced not by "reversing" cursed energy or by "being happy" but by multiplying cursed energy against itself
It doesn’t really make sense if you think about it because if your punching power had a unit, raising it to 2.5 would give you a power raised to 2.5 instead of a power (just like how length times length gives you a surface). That’s why the concept doesn’t make much sense (and why it becomes weird for people with a power inforeior to one unit)
black flash is actually way stronger than what you explained in the video. it doesn’t multiply the strength by 2.5, it multiplies it to the POWER of 2.5 - it’s an exponential boost, not linear. so if a punch’s power is 100, a black flash will fucking skyrocket that power to 100,000
I replied to someone else with this but i'll just make a standalone comment. Some people have been saying "no if your angry it doesnt boost your attack it just wasted cursed energy" which is yet another example of JJK fans not being able to read. if your angry, you have a lot more readily available negative emotions, which would normally lead to waste due to overflow. but sorcerers specifically train not to inhibit these emotions but to harness the rise in emotional density. Its a lot easier to call upon anger when you have something to be angry about rather than nothing
This is proven by a good portion of Yujis fights tbh…..he almost always peaks when he’s angry And with the last chapter telling us Sukuna was really just angry at the world for his unwantedness….its probably safe to say that anger is part of the reason he was so strong.
It’s said in the literal chapter that gojo first explains the difference of cursed energy and cursed techniques. You just need negative emotions to USE cursed energy and if you become too angry you begin to waste that cursed energy you use. Being more angry just means you use more cursed energy while making it leak more. Using more cursed energy doesn’t just naturally give you a power buff or else sukuna would just one tap everyone.
Btw common mistake hollow purple was never said to erase things all purple does is pull apart and push away stuff on a molecular level thousand or millions of times a second.
Correct. It generates a large amount of virtual mass by generating a spatial anomaly. It then barrels forwards for a bit, pulverizing everything with its immense kinetic energy before vanishing. It’s similar in strength to a weaker artillery barrage.
@@jasonbrose6743That explanation doesn't make any sense. First of all, Gojo has called it "imaginary mass" before. Imaginary mass and virtual mass are completely different concepts and the fact that the translators/Gege used it interchangeably tells me it's not supposed to operate like the real concept of virtual mass at all. We also see Hollow Purple warp space before getting fired and leave perfectly clean holes that wouldn't make sense if it operated like artillery (the way it hit Toji for example).
@shepardice3775 that’s a mistranslation. Virtual mass (the physical concept found in fluid dynamics) is the cause of hollow purple’s might. The kinetic energy is very, very high because of this. It essentially slams air at incredible speeds into you, punching holes through anything and everything. Depleted uranium shells at high enough speed can do similar damage, it’s just that they also explode while doing so.
@@jasonbrose6743Trying to apply real physics to this is crazy lol. Virtual mass is part of how you calculate drag. Basically, the object is heavier than it appears because of air resistance. If HP is just a ball of "virtual mass" (a concept that already doesn't make any sense) why did it impart zero momentum on Toji? Why didn't it shatter the walls behind him which was already damaged? It should've torn through Toji, unclean, thrown him to the side, destroyed the building behind him and left scorch marks because of how fast it was travelling, if you want to bring real physics into this.
iirc gege changed this in an authors note, but I can't find it. His math explanations are sometimes a little wacky. I'll use the power of 2 to simplify math in the explanation. If someone's strength is a 1, then 1² is still 1. If an attack is less than 1, black flash implies the attack gets weaker. This also creates issues where the exponent grows quickly out of control. Let's say a nobara punch is strength of 2. 2² is 4. Nobara has doubled her strength. Awesome! Let's say a yuji punch is strength of 10 strength. 10² is 100. Uh oh. 10 is only 5 times stronger than 2, but the black flash has become 25 times stronger. These sorts of calculations quickly balloon, and soon no one would be able to take a stronger characters black flash. It only works well with small numbers, but if the numbers are small, it implies that gojo isn't more than 5 times stronger than nobara, which also doesn't sound right.
black flash raises the damage dealt by an attack to the power of 2.5. to those saying the translator is wrong, Gege's sentence at least goes along the lines of "I sought something more impactful, and thought of exponents." Using this sentence, we can use knowledge from our 7th grade math class to understand that he is talking about exponents, since exponents are more impactful than multiplication. in addition, force is the result of mass X acceleration. if black flash multiplied the force by 2.5, that would mean that mass and/or acceleration of a sorcerer's body would drastically increase, but this does not happen. this is why black flash raises the damage dealt, and not the actual force behind the attack. this is how Sukuna was able to tank black flashes from Gojo, which would have vaporized a cursed spirit like Jogo.
Everyone seems to forget about it, but when Gojo is explaining Domain Expansion in season 1 he says ,,One such benefit is the boost to stats due to enviromental factors.'' Yuji responding with ,,Oh! Like buffs in video games!" Gojo doesn't correct Yuji, (he goes on to explain the sure-hit effect) meaning that was most likely what he meant, an actual stat-buff, and not the enviroment itself assisting you as a metaphorical buff, just a pure stat buff. It's not really mentioned anywhere else (at least in the anime, I haven't read the manga) but it was stated by the honoured one himself so it must be true. 🤷♀
Also with black flash, its said that its so precise that its essentially impossible to intentionally land one. If you do manage to do it, its not something you can practice and its pure luck. However once you hit a single black flash, for a period afterwards your mind will be enhanced and you will essentially be on an adrenaline high or "in the zone" which will make all your fighting more precise , you will still deal that extra percentage of damage, and while in that state you will actually be able to consitently land additional black flashes
I feel like Hollow Purple is not just erasing since Sukuna would have literally died instantly when Gojo used it as a nuke. I think it just continously attracts and retracts objects into themselves at unimaginable speeds until the target turns to particles of particles that rip themselves apart.
it does erase things but it was stated that sukuna used domain amplification (wich nulifies completely a technique) but since hollow purple is too powerfull, sukuna stil got some damage in the arms
@botq2444 HP doesn't erase things. It's just really destructive virtual mass. An example of a technique that can just erase anything is Yorozu's True Sphere.
No because if you don't put a limit on your energy output it will drain you consistently. You could technically use your anger to get to levels of strength equivalent to sukuna, but unless your pool is that large you will die
@@sticksimple1 jjk power system is inconsistent and really feels like it's made up on the fly, especially if you need to watch videos like these to understand how all of it works Looking at other series like csm for example: you either have a rule for it that is not contradicted OR you don't have a rule for it and you never will ***Spoiler*** examples: Nobody knows how the darkness devil works, nobody knows how makima's power works and it's all on purpose Show, don't tell
no , cursed energy doesnt come from negative emotions , negative emotions just make it spiral out of controll no getting angry doesnt power it up inherited techiques are also innate techniques all cursed techniques that are only learnable by people born with them are innate techniques innate techniques that got passed down are called inherited techniques the other kind can be called awakened , since a non-sorcerer or a sorcerer "awakens" them Black Flash isnt a technique its a phenomena its like calling burning a technique , it isnt , its a reaction , a phenomena no it doesnt land when u hit it within that time window there is tons more factors in that like urs and ur opponents state if ur in the "zone" hell even room temeperature could be one of em , we dont know all of em tho its not factor its to the power of 2.5
Additionally the black flash happens when cursed energy is “delivered” in that 0. Something time frame. The initial activation of cursed energy is not confirmed to be a factor as far as I am aware.
Anger does power it up. See Todo's "Anger is an important trigger for sorcerers" speech. Cursed energy is indeed inherently tied to negative emotions, to the point that the fear in near-death experiences can boost a non-sorcerer's CE to the point they can see curses.
Pretty much I guess. Even without cursed energy, hulk already has crazy durability, strength, and regeneration. If he somehow learns to control cursed energy and learns reversed cursed technique, he'd be very strong even without an innate technique. Although some jjk characters can still defeat him with their hax, like Higuruma with his insta kill execution sword, Takaba with his reality manipulation skill, or Sukuna with his world cutting slash. If they can't defeat him, they could just seal him using prison realm.
-simple domain is still the domain, mastered it enough will make your simple domain grant a guaruntee hit like a domain expansion. -you forgot domain amplification. Domain amplification is another defensive technique to lowering incoming attack damage. However, domain amplification forces you to fight hand to hand
Pretty sure Gege said the power amplification of a black flash is the attack to the power of 2.5 NOT the same thing as 2.5x but I also could be misremembering what it said in the manga
Black flashes are not actually activating cursed energy in 0,000001 seconds after hitting the opponent, its explained in the manga, its more of a random phenomena that occurs, that is why its random for most of the sorcerers gojo explained it, if it was like that he could land black flashes whenever he wanted, but he cant
The 'random phenomena' part of a black flash IS that cursed energy is activated 0.000001 seconds after the impact, what Gojo explained in the manga is that due to the amount of factors that are involved for such timing to happen (stuff like cursed energy output and strength to even the temperature outside and the wind) a black flash is truly random.
0:21 a sorcerer whos angry wastes a lot of their energy, a sorcerer who's calm can better control it and focus it for their own means. This isn't dragon ball
right, thats actively not what was implied. if your angry, you have a lot more readily available negative emotions, which would normally lead to waste due to overflow. but sorcerers specifically train not to inhibit these emotions but to harness the rise in emotional density. Its a lot easier to call upon anger when you have something to be angry about rather than nothing
Fun fact: you don’t actually HAVE to preform the full hand-signs to produce a domain expansion. The hand-signs are described as “an expression of the soul” so you don’t have to do the full thing. I think it was Hakari who first showed this, but I could be wrong.
actually the first to show this was dagon, because he made the hand-sing but naobito kicks him to interrupt him, but dagon do domain expansion even so he was interrupted
You need hand signs, Hakari used a binding vow so he wouldn't need his hands to cast his domain, that proves hand signs are a absolute requisite since he needed to go out of his way to bypass the system EVERY sorcerer makes hand signs or at least makes a gesture before casting a domain, Mahito creates hands in his mouth to simulate hand signs and Dagon drew hand signs on his stomach because his fingers were cut off
Great video, but theres one inaccuracy, that being the black flash timing. Gojo says that if it was a 0.00000000001 time between fist and energy, then he would be able to replicate it 100% of the time with six eyes. Something else triggers it
hmmmm, that's super interesting! But in the Kyoto vs Tokyo school event, Aoi Todo explained it like that, so it is a new interpretation of the Black Flash that Gojo revealed, not that it is inaccurate necessarily. (A real correction would actually be that in the anime, they translated the multiplicative factor of the Black Flash wrong, it is not by 2.5 times, but by a power of 2.5, so 10 "cursed energy" would be ~316, and 100 would be 100 000
This seems a lot like having one’s cake and eating it so Gege can put arbitrary rules on different characters instead of having a simple, holistic system that can set up resolutions to fights satisfactorily instead of just making excuses for spectacle asspulls. It smacks of having lots of good ideas with either no ability to logically tie them together or no creative restraint to maintain a scope for the sake of avoiding contrivance and so instead of needing to come up with an innovative and entertaining way to resolve his conflicts Gege will just tack on as many exceptions and rules as needed to accommodate his narrative to avoid creativity. It’s especially insulting to one’s intelligence when he will fill whole chapters with the cast pretending to theorise and analyse fights and opponents, like in the Sukuna fights, as if there has been any build up of a consistent system rather than a constant dump of contrived explanation by the narrator every time he wants to turn the tables in a fight. Why is there genetic and innate CTs? If it is a function of a physical part of the brain then how can it be anything but inherited? Why is CE something that can create/manipulate but also be projected into a barrier, create some esoteric medium for making a vow to the heavens(?), etc. what exactly can’t it do? Is a DE like an evangelion AT field and their CT, inherited or otherwise, an expression of their psyche? Because CT don’t seem to have anything to do with personality in the slightest except specifically Hakari and the lawyer guy. But then we have Mahito who manipulates souls and has an external physical effect on his victims bodies, so it is more like an AT field? But then we have those like Geto who hates and is utterly disgusted by his CT. Are binding vows an expression of self belief or is there a divine force arbitrating over it? Is there any higher intelligence dishing out CE? Why do only Japanese people have it? What decides innate CT? What decides heavenly restrictions? There’s a million and one world building points needed before we start going into star plasma sacrifices, spirit merging, CI creation and complicated, city shattering, fights. [[[[SPOILERS]]]]] This all results in scenarios where Gojo survives Toji because he’s just super smart and had an epiphany. Or Gojo dies because Sukuna used Mahoraga to meta-hack the logic of limitless by “cutting space itself”. Great spectacle, eye roll every time It has to be explained and it DOES have to be explained by a character or the narrator EVERY SINGLE TIME, proving just how weak it is. And then Gege hand waves it by saying explaining a technique empowers it with 0 presentation of any such thing happening. The real reason is he either wanted to defend the contrivance to the audience or he couldn’t think up a way for the opponent to figure it out and put up a fight. You know the only character who it’s satisfying to see use their CT? Nobara. Her’s is simple, elegant and provides great turnarounds. Anyone can understand it but it’s esoteric enough to keep opponents on the back foot and give her an edge despite being relatively very weak. Finally, purple annihilates, it does not neutralise, though the equation used to explain it is correct, it SHOULD neutralise all force. When I push my hands together it neutralises the opposing forces and they stay still. It does not create a black hole in my palms. Red creates a “hollow” by repelling. Blue would just neutralise that force, not supercharge it to tear the fabric of reality. I swear most of these ideas sound like something kids on a playground would make up after learning about red/blue shift from Carl Sagan with how little thought goes into it.
To be fair your brain can have things irl that are not inherited. My understanding is that it's meant to be a mutation in human evolution so it happens randomly and unpredictably. Theres so many developmental disorders that are partially influenced by your environment and can change the way your brain develops even if neither of your parents had the disorder.
@@cleverballoon6535 That's a good explanation, yet it leaves a tension of both having centuries old lineages of JJ sorcerers (who themselves have great diversity of CT within their clans) and new upstart mutating powers emerging on the fly at such an insane rate as to populate the entire culling games with a host of wacky new characters. To release this tension some revelation of the cause of CE within a sorcerer is needed. Like the big question of why only the Japanese have it. Is it like the Dao bringing balance or something? The specific distribution hints at some intelligence behind it.
About the japanese one, it's not only the japanese that has it. There's been this whole meme about Yuta going to Africa to train with Miguel. I forgot about the reason, but it's just that japan has more cursed energy user than other countries.
@@tensaitenshi Not just more, It's made quite explicit during culling games that the only CE users outside of japan are miniscule and likely only those with some Japanese ancestry. Otherwise the US wouldn't be sending Delta force to kidnap sorcerers. But say that wasn't the case, why the utterly unbalanced distribution? Is it due to some original sorcerer who cursed the Japanese people or perhaps all sorcerers share a common ancestor in him or is there some ancient artefact influencing the people? Keep it obscure by all means, but there ought to be SOMETHING this late in the manga.
@@rahuldhargalkarshikigami are like good curse spirits people can make to do simple task to inhance a Curse technique, like how rika can store copied curse techniques
I think a better explanation for Purple comes out of Gojo's mouth: Imaginary mass. All the time, randomly, everywhere, pairs of photons and antiphotons appear and annihilate each other instantly before they can interact with anything. Gojo's Purple accelerates this process, creating so much imaginary mass, that some of the anti-photons delete a tiny bit of matter while the photon escapes as light.
You're a little off on maximum technique. There's max output and maximum technique. TECHNIQUE is a different variation of your technique, and the pinnacle of what your technique is that isn't a domain expansion. OUTPUT is the maximum strength and energy you are able to dump into a technique for destructive power. To compare, it's like a massive or giant rassengan (output) vs. a rassenshuriken (technique)
2:30 you should've started explaining a Domain on its own, and then build on it with Domain Expansion. A Domain is a mental landscape that embodies the mind of an individual which they are born with. Domain Expansion is essentially constructing ones innate domain with cursed energy in a controlled space, with a barrier, although there are people who can create their domain without a barrier, without losing its always hit attack of the technique that the domain is bound to, unlike an uncomplete Domain, which either doesn't have a technique, or a barrier, making it lose its always hit effect. 🤓☝️
There’s a mistake in hollow purple. The technique is just imaginary as Gojo says, but the effect of red and blue are still there so they are still real. Basically he threw red and blue at the same time and purple was only the consequence of them mixing together and creating an imaginary “thing”. So if red and blue are real they can’t just make stuff disappear they just destroy it to a molecular level so it looked like everything Purple hit had disappeared. It’s a bit hard to explain because it really has no simple logical explanation. I hope I didn’t write anything wrong💀
"Lesser" is up for debate. "More streamlined" is what I'd argue, given that Nen has less thematic relevance to the structure of HxH than Cursed Techniques are to JJK
@@zacharybosley1935 I’m not insulting cursed energy, you are speaking as if I am. When I said lesser the implication I was going for was less complicated. Please Accept my apologies.
2:06 maximum Uzumaki and max meteor are maximum techniques. They're entite new applications of a cursed technique that requires the highest mastery of a technique. The example of a lvl 5 and lvl 100 purple is wrong, because that's not a maximum technique, that's the classic hollow technique but with the most cursed energy possible applied to it. Two entirely different things. A maximum technique for gojo would be neither blue, red, or purple. But something entirely new
@@Kurotama11no it combines different applications of his cursed technique, for it to be maximum it would be a new way of applying his technique with that ability having the most cursed energy applied to it
hollow purple was never mentioned to "erase everything in its path" in the manga. maximum technique isn't to be confused with maximum output. Gojo's purple isn't a maximum technique. He has only shown maximum output.
This , and Maki rule 34 are the only good things that jjk had , was a good ride, hope Gege focus more in the history and narrative instead of the fights for his next work.
Just a basic correction here Hereditary techniques and inate techniques are not two separate things, they're both inate techniques, just that the hereditaries are cultivated and passed down through the genetic of a clan, like Naobito who had a lot of kids until one of then where born with his technique
It's a pretty good explanation. The only incorrect aspect is the "erasing" matter, which is kinda incorrect. But I mean, until Gojo VS Sukuna, that distinction never really matters. And when you think about it, from the viewers perspective, erasing matter and tearing things apart at the subatomic level is pretty much identical
the hollow purple i think it like a technique that tear the blue attract, and the red repel, the two together tear, its not a 0, but a -100 and +100 together tearing
I saw someone make the comparison to calculus. The technique is called Limitless. Limits are a common occurrence in calculus. For example, the graph of the function 1/x shows that if you approach from the positive side, y goes to infinity, essnetially an infinite repelling force, red. But if you approache from the negative side of 1/x, y goes to negative infinity, an infinite attraction force. What makes purple annihilate in thw way that it does is when you look at the full limit of these two forces. Its not negative infinity + positive infinity = 0. 1/0 is undefined The limit of 1/x as x approaches 0 doesnt exist, and so when something is caught in that "non-existence" they also stop exisiting. This might just be a coincidence, but i like how his normal cursed technique amplification, blue, is the infinite attraction force (approaching 0 from the negative side leading to negative infinity) because cursed energy is inherently negative, being born from negative emotions. When the cursed technique is reversed, becoming positive energy, you get red, the infinite repelling force, as seen on the positive side of the 1/x graph I think its a really good theory for Limitless and the whole Red, Blue, and Purple thing.
You don't need to breath though although you could use a binding vow to boost your cursed energy in exchange of needing to breath for every cursed technique used. Although the power boost would be too little.
You surround yourself in a thin layer of your domain, but you don't imbue your cursed technique into it. When the domain layer comes into contact with another cursed technique, the domain harnesses it as it's own and nullifies its effect. Jogo used this during his second fight with Gojo. His domain amplification came into contact with limitless and tried to nullify infinity, forcing Gojo to make his infinity stronger.
The x^2.5 thing just seems so weird to me. Because at that point, an actual number scale needs to be employed to accurately have an understanding of how much stronger it's making you. If the JJK student cast in the first season could be classed as between "Power Levels" of 10-100, then a Black Flash done by a power level 10 student will increase their power by around 31.7x as much, while a power level 100 student will increase their power by around 1000x. Because now things get weird if we use slightly larger numbers. Like if Itadori and Megumi each had a "power level" of around 1200 and a Cursed Spirit had around 15,000 Obviously the entire fight the Cursed Spirit is just playing with them Yet, Itadori with a Blackflash makes his power level 1200^2.5 or just under 50 million All I'm saying is, if Nappa from DBZ used a Black Flash he would be momentarily 48x stronger than Final Form Frieza.
Its not based on power levels, its based on the power of your hit and the multiplier that comes from the cursed energy injected, which some is loss due to your efficiency or manipulation of it.
@@TFD.aep2 So with cursed energy as the multiplier, is it more like x + y^2.5, or are you saying that it's actually x^y with the cursed energy (y) usually being 2.5 but may be less due to efficiency?
@@SharkyShockermore like xy^2.5 and the actual y can vary depending on your efficiency (ratio between input and output energy) and how powerful the actual strike is itself. Alot of varying factors effect your output, its why the jujutsu balance teams answer to that problem was just the six eyes😂

Okay I know it’s not related but if sukuna can tank hollow purple, the Gojo can tank world cutting slash too(I do agree that Gojo didn’t anticipate it) both techniques primarily root on eliminating anything on their way. Hollow purple erases space itself, sukuna tanking that feels unreal to me. Edit: i totally forgot Sukuna is Op at using domain amplification
Actually the black flash increase the power to a factor of 2,5, not multiplying it to 2,5. If the force of the punch is 10N then the black flash have the power of 10^2,5, not 10*2,5
Really great video 👍, I think the only comment I have is you could have mentioned that reversed cursed energy can fuel cursed techniques for the reversed techniques. It doesn't really matter, still a very concise video
it can also be used for offense, since it creates positive energy it can cause a lot of harm to cursed spirits who are made of negative energy. It can also be used offensively to other sorcerers, since if you use RCT on another human and their body rejects it, it can cause immense damage (Yuta showcased this in the manga)
2:25 a room? A room that the owner controls? The owner of this room can manipulate the things in this room? 🤔hmmmmm where have I heard something like that before👒
Rlly good explanation! Couple things im still confused abt: - what is exactly is Six Eyes and why is it so good with Limitless - how does gojo teleport with Limitless - how do Red and Blue work Specifically how red and blue push and pull logically ties into Limitless. I get how his Infinity barrier works by creating infinite space between him and his target but i dont get how that translates into teleporting or pseudo telekinesis
Six Eyes is basically being able to see the flow of cursed energy and manipulate it to a otherwise unattainable degree. That's why Gojo is so strong, because with the limitless technique and six eyes he can use Limitless to it's full potential. The way he teleports pretty simple and complicated at the same time. Basically Blue is like a black hole, which distorts space and distance, so using that he can transport himself across space instantaneously by making the space smaller with blue. Red is just a repelling force, pushing everything out, blue is a black hole pretty much.
^ explained it pretty well but in simple terms -limitless is op af but cost a lot of curse energy (big mana usage), six eye pretty much makes ability use little/no energy (think of it like an item that reduce mana efficiency by 85%). now u got a overpowered abilities for free/no counter consequences. this allowed gojo to spam limitless like making a barrier 24/7, learn reversal, and learn limitless to its fullest. -gojo controls space, he can make 10 miles pack into 1 inch hence the teleportation (think of nether portal). -blue is gojo attack ability. creates a blue ball that attaches stuff, remember that curse energy is a negative energy (-) and reversal is (-1). so (-1)*(-1) is (1). aka the opposite, so red repels. ^thats why reverse curse heals users/others instead of damage
-Six eyes is a physical attribute someone can be born with (only one person can at a time, though) that allows them to see the flow of cursed energy in immense detail and control it with ease. -Gojo warps the space around him to teleport, kind of like how you can grab two ends of a paper and pull them together so that two points on the paper that didnt connect earlier touch. -Blue is the concept of negative infinity brought into reality. It's negative mass, so it attracts all matter towards it. -Red is the opposite of blue. It has infinite mass and repels everything near it.
*Hollow Purple doesn’t “erase” things btw, it’s just like a really big energy blast. It just looks like “erasure” because he hits random dirt and trees in that one clip, but for example sukuna is hit by maximum purple twice but can block it with cursed energy. Manganimist has a good explanation of it somewhere, it doesnt just erase reality like Hakai or whatever, it’s just an energy blast
he didnt block it with just pure cursed energy he blocked it with "domain amplification" which nullifies cursed techniques on contact so theoretically purple STILL COULD BE matter erasure
A strong professional boxer's punch can generate around 5,000 newtons of force, and we know that Yuji is pretty strong, so let's say ~4000 newtons. if its x 2.5 then Yuji hits with a force of 10000 newtons, which is still a lot but (somewhat) reasonable. The people saying it is to the power of 2.5 are saying that Yuji hits Sukuna with 1,011,928,851.25 newtons of force per black flash. This punch would be so powerful that it would not only explode someone, but set fire to the surrounding area. Yikes

Still no clue if cursed energy can run out, you get it from emotions and i remeber yuji doing the movies training to always be making curse energy but it makes me think it isnt an mp bar and more the ammount of output you can always to use
Yes it can run out. the fact that gojo's six eyes gives him the ability to never run out of cursed energy means that normally you CAN run out. Also, it's stated that even if you can't touch mahito's soul, if you deform his body enough times, he has to use cursed energy to change the shape back to normal, and eventually he will run out of cursed energy to do that and die.
If you use your CT or even rct for prolonged periods of time, it literally destroys your brain (think the gojo and sukuna fight when they spam their domains and they start bleeding from their eyes and nose) it's called cursed energy burnout and it makes it impossible to use your innate technique and also limits your ce output massively
@@asianpersuasion4901it doesn't make him unable to run out it reduces his cursed energy wastage and usage to be so efficient that he never has to worry about running out he can however still run out of CE if he keeps using a lot of cursed energy(like in the fight with sukuna where he needed to land black flashes to replenish)
@@Jebediah.KermanWHAT anyways it isn't ct or RCT that causes CE burnout it's actually caused right after your domain breaks(presumably due to suddenly having two techniques if you didn't know the surehit effect of one's domain also counts as a technique) And sukuna or gojo bled from their noses because what they were doing is breaking their brains then regenerating it with RCT (which is like breaking an overheating engine and making it again from the parts to fix it) which is very dangerous and this caused a lot of damage to their brains also it never really limited CE output
@borgedd common misconception is hollow purple is a "blackhole", "atomizer", or a "mass eraser". This is VERY false as it is literally just blue and red mashed together ripping stuff apart. Gojo saying "imaginary mass" doesnt really mean anything significant, i think Gege just put it there for dramatic effect. Manga spoilers: And if hollow purple did erase matter there would be literally no point in different outputs, or Utahime and old principle man to buff Gojo. This whole argument is also backed up by the Purple Nuke, if hollow purple really just erased everything Gojo and Sukuna should just not exist.
Guys, before commenting, check out the second part of the video! I corrected the Black Flash, provided more details on Hollow Purple, and explained manga exclusive abilities ;)
Correction on the Hollow Purple:
It doesn't erase things, it's rips them apart through space on the atomic level.
Red pushes, and blue pulls. What happens if you push and pull at the same time? You rip it.
More people need to understand this. It causes a lot of unnecessary headache when powerscaling.
Simple example
Take a paper
Use 1 of ur hand pull the paper
Ur other hand push the paper
The paper rip , that how hollow purple work
That obvious btw
so like a rasengan
but actually destructive
Correction: Max Technique and Max Output aren’t the same the thing.
Max Output is what you described - Pushing a Technique to its highest strength
Max Technique is (most of the time) a visually and effectively different technique from its base version.

Gege himself said that he made a mistake

@@thenatron6136 cursed energy is negative ENERGY, not just "negative"
the amount of cursed energy you have is most definitely positive lmfao
also, "positive energy" or "reverse cursed technique" is produced not by "reversing" cursed energy or by "being happy" but by multiplying cursed energy against itself
@@quasogod So when you do black flash it works normally, but when using RCT it suddenly works like negative numbers?
It doesn’t really make sense if you think about it because if your punching power had a unit, raising it to 2.5 would give you a power raised to 2.5 instead of a power (just like how length times length gives you a surface). That’s why the concept doesn’t make much sense (and why it becomes weird for people with a power inforeior to one unit)
black flash is actually way stronger than what you explained in the video. it doesn’t multiply the strength by 2.5, it multiplies it to the POWER of 2.5 - it’s an exponential boost, not linear.
so if a punch’s power is 100, a black flash will fucking skyrocket that power to 100,000
He made a mistake and then told you to check the description
I replied to someone else with this but i'll just make a standalone comment. Some people have been saying "no if your angry it doesnt boost your attack it just wasted cursed energy" which is yet another example of JJK fans not being able to read. if your angry, you have a lot more readily available negative emotions, which would normally lead to waste due to overflow. but sorcerers specifically train not to inhibit these emotions but to harness the rise in emotional density. Its a lot easier to call upon anger when you have something to be angry about rather than nothing
This is proven by a good portion of Yujis fights tbh…..he almost always peaks when he’s angry
And with the last chapter telling us Sukuna was really just angry at the world for his unwantedness….its probably safe to say that anger is part of the reason he was so strong.

Yea, alot of people are mistaken that it erases matter
For Black Flash it's not by a factor of 2.5, but the exponent of 2.5
iirc gege changed this in an authors note, but I can't find it.
That was overruled in the anime because that makes no sense
black flash raises the damage dealt by an attack to the power of 2.5.
to those saying the translator is wrong, Gege's sentence at least goes along the lines of "I sought something more impactful, and thought of exponents." Using this sentence, we can use knowledge from our 7th grade math class to understand that he is talking about exponents, since exponents are more impactful than multiplication.
in addition, force is the result of mass X acceleration. if black flash multiplied the force by 2.5, that would mean that mass and/or acceleration of a sorcerer's body would drastically increase, but this does not happen. this is why black flash raises the damage dealt, and not the actual force behind the attack. this is how Sukuna was able to tank black flashes from Gojo, which would have vaporized a cursed spirit like Jogo.

Gojo doesn't correct Yuji, (he goes on to explain the sure-hit effect) meaning that was most likely what he meant, an actual stat-buff, and not the enviroment itself assisting you as a metaphorical buff, just a pure stat buff.
It's not really mentioned anywhere else (at least in the anime, I haven't read the manga) but it was stated by the honoured one himself so it must be true. 🤷♀
Yup, the characters get a straight up buff when their domain is active.

Anger does power it up. See Todo's "Anger is an important trigger for sorcerers" speech. Cursed energy is indeed inherently tied to negative emotions, to the point that the fear in near-death experiences can boost a non-sorcerer's CE to the point they can see curses.
@@TheLampl1ghter yes but controlling those emotions makes you a more effective sorcerer

Pretty much I guess. Even without cursed energy, hulk already has crazy durability, strength, and regeneration. Although some jjk characters can still defeat him with their hax, like Higuruma with his insta kill execution sword, Takaba with his reality manipulation skill, or Sukuna with his world cutting slash. If they can't defeat him, they could just seal him using prison realm.

gojo explained it, if it was like that he could land black flashes whenever he wanted, but he cant

@@badthunder115Manga yuji:
@@RandomPerson-sh1fe I meant guarantee them, and yuji stopped getting black flashes after the 8th, so those weren't still guaranteed

You need hand signs, Hakari used a binding vow so he wouldn't need his hands to cast his domain, that proves hand signs are a absolute requisite since he needed to go out of his way to bypass the system
EVERY sorcerer makes hand signs or at least makes a gesture before casting a domain, Mahito creates hands in his mouth to simulate hand signs and Dagon drew hand signs on his stomach because his fingers were cut off

(A real correction would actually be that in the anime, they translated the multiplicative factor of the Black Flash wrong, it is not by 2.5 times, but by a power of 2.5, so 10 "cursed energy" would be ~316, and 100 would be 100 000
This is cool, I look forward to reading and watching jjk c:
[[[[SPOILERS]]]]]
This all results in scenarios where Gojo survives Toji because he’s just super smart and had an epiphany.
To release this tension some revelation of the cause of CE within a sorcerer is needed. Like the big question of why only the Japanese have it. Is it like the Dao bringing balance or something? The specific distribution hints at some intelligence behind it.

Hereditary techniques and inate techniques are not two separate things, they're both inate techniques, just that the hereditaries are cultivated and passed down through the genetic of a clan, like Naobito who had a lot of kids until one of then where born with his technique

Aside from the horrendous explanation of how hollow purple works this was actually great
Its a basic explanation of how hollow purple works gang, its not an indepth explanation
@@L1M1TL3SSKisser it is still a completely wrong one though.
Black flash is pretty sure an exponential
So a punch of 100 power would have 100^2.5 so something like 100000
Gojo only has one technique. He is using reverse curse technique in tandum with his inherited ability.

the hollow purple i think it like a technique that tear
the blue attract, and the red repel, the two together tear, its not a 0, but a -100 and +100 together tearing
When the cursed technique is reversed, becoming positive energy, you get red, the infinite repelling force, as seen on the positive side of the 1/x graph
I think its a really good theory for Limitless and the whole Red, Blue, and Purple thing.
@@tabithal2977 its a great theory man
Conclusion:
Cursed energy is basically Hamon from jjba. But on crack.
Which can be summarized into Nen but a little straight to the point
You don't need to breath though although you could use a binding vow to boost your cursed energy in exchange of needing to breath for every cursed technique used.
Although the power boost would be too little.
You missed domain amplification
You surround yourself in a thin layer of your domain, but you don't imbue your cursed technique into it.
When the domain layer comes into contact with another cursed technique, the domain harnesses it as it's own and nullifies its effect.
Jogo used this during his second fight with Gojo. His domain amplification came into contact with limitless and tried to nullify infinity, forcing Gojo to make his infinity stronger.
I thought the power was ^2.5 not just 2.5
The x^2.5 thing just seems so weird to me.
Like if Itadori and Megumi each had a "power level" of around 1200 and a Cursed Spirit had around 15,000
Obviously the entire fight the Cursed Spirit is just playing with them
Yet, Itadori with a Blackflash makes his power level 1200^2.5 or just under 50 million
All I'm saying is, if Nappa from DBZ used a Black Flash he would be momentarily 48x stronger than Final Form Frieza.
The video does state that black flash = x 2.5 times, not ^2.5
@@nacho2560 Yes but it's mentioned in the description that this is an error and that it is actually ^2.5
@@SharkyShockermore like xy^2.5 and the actual y can vary depending on your efficiency (ratio between input and output energy) and how powerful the actual strike is itself. Alot of varying factors effect your output, its why the jujutsu balance teams answer to that problem was just the six eyes😂

Take a shot every time the word cursed is said
Okay I know it’s not related but if sukuna can tank hollow purple, the Gojo can tank world cutting slash too(I do agree that Gojo didn’t anticipate it) both techniques primarily root on eliminating anything on their way. Hollow purple erases space itself, sukuna tanking that feels unreal to me.
Edit: i totally forgot Sukuna is Op at using domain amplification

Actually the black flash increase the power to a factor of 2,5, not multiplying it to 2,5. If the force of the punch is 10N then the black flash have the power of 10^2,5, not 10*2,5
Jujutsu Kaisen entire plot is throwing the word "cursed" in as many sentences as possible
Wait black flash was a factor of 2.5 not to the power of 2.5?
They got it wrong in the anime. It is to the power of 2.5
Really great video 👍, I think the only comment I have is you could have mentioned that reversed cursed energy can fuel cursed techniques for the reversed techniques.

Rlly good explanation! Couple things im still confused abt:
- what is exactly is Six Eyes and why is it so good with Limitless
- how does gojo teleport with Limitless
- how do Red and Blue work
Specifically how red and blue push and pull logically ties into Limitless.
^ explained it pretty well but in simple terms
-limitless is op af but cost a lot of curse energy (big mana usage), six eye pretty much makes ability use little/no energy (think of it like an item that reduce mana efficiency by 85%). now u got a overpowered abilities for free/no counter consequences. this allowed gojo to spam limitless like making a barrier 24/7, learn reversal, and learn limitless to its fullest.
This. It’s just a really big boom that can kill anything not named Sukuna
he didnt block it with just pure cursed energy
he blocked it with "domain amplification" which nullifies cursed techniques on contact
so theoretically purple STILL COULD BE matter erasure

A strong professional boxer's punch can generate around 5,000 newtons of force, and we know that Yuji is pretty strong, so let's say ~4000 newtons. if its x 2.5 then Yuji hits with a force of 10000 newtons, which is still a lot but (somewhat) reasonable. The people saying it is to the power of 2.5 are saying that Yuji hits Sukuna with 1,011,928,851.25 newtons of force per black flash. This punch would be so powerful that it would not only explode someone, but set fire to the surrounding area. Yikes
What about hollow wicker basket I don't understand that same with the one that is between simple domain and hollow wicker basket
Hollow wicker basket is only useful for domain expansions with a sure hit effect. Simple domain is useful even outside a domain
its ancient simple domain
its a counter for domain in old age, the different is instead of making circle protection barrier they use handsign
it just delays sure hit effects for a period of time

You got a lot wrong here, part 2 to clarify things?
Still no clue if cursed energy can run out, you get it from emotions and i remeber yuji doing the movies training to always be making curse energy but it makes me think it isnt an mp bar and more the ammount of output you can always to use
Yes it can run out. the fact that gojo's six eyes gives him the ability to never run out of cursed energy means that normally you CAN run out. Also, it's stated that even if you can't touch mahito's soul, if you deform his body enough times, he has to use cursed energy to change the shape back to normal, and eventually he will run out of cursed energy to do that and die.
doesnt like ran out like cant use it
more they use it, their health got worse
and worse health reduce technique effectiveness
@@Jebediah.KermanWHAT anyways it isn't ct or RCT that causes CE burnout it's actually caused right after your domain breaks(presumably due to suddenly having two techniques if you didn't know the surehit effect of one's domain also counts as a technique)
And sukuna or gojo bled from their noses because what they were doing is breaking their brains then regenerating it with RCT (which is like breaking an overheating engine and making it again from the parts to fix it) which is very dangerous and this caused a lot of damage to their brains also it never really limited CE output
hollow purple does not erase matter.
then what DOES it do?
@@borgeddusing blue and red, the attraction and repelling tear apart anything but not erase
