Hey Grant - we sincerely appreciate your feedback/comments Brother! Our customer loves it along with the sound of that custom exhaust set-up ... not sure his neighbors agree with him though!
Thanks man ... the header pipes are stock - we fabricated the transition piece from the header pipes to the exhaust can which we source locally here in Florida. The cans are fairly inexpensive, sound great and flow nicely!
Hey Keith, thank you for checking out this project - these are great machines and now quite rare! Good luck with your build and thank you for your positive comment!
Hey Fawad, thank you for checking out this build! We agree with you, she really turned out well - and the sound on the video really doesn't do her any justice, she sounds way better in person!!!
I always loved that engine. The bike? Well, I guess I wished they did something else. XV920 chassis maybe. You did a great job with an otherwise strange bike.
No worries, mate - do a google search for sportbikelites in Cocoa, Florida ... tell them the boys at Bare Bone Rides sent you! Good luck with your build man!
Not impossible but, transforming a fazer in to a more transitional cafe racer would be a challenge for sure ... mainly because of the frame geometry and how the gas-tank on this bike is designed ... site low just in front of the seat ... that upper part is actually the air-box which site in front of the gas tank and under that plastic cover ... you can see more of the frame on our website under this build!
barebonerides Oh you did an amazing job ! This particular FZX just outranked the CBX 1000 in my santa list :-) Any chance you might have worked on a cbx ? Its engine and exhaust sound are just something to die for!
PepinoMichoacan Thank you for the kind words Brother! We did have a CBX but, she was so clean and so original, we just got her back to running smoothly after going through the 6 carbs and then sold her on ebay ... she went to the UK! The 6-into-1 pipe sounded incredible!!!
PepinoMichoacan Thanks for subscribing to our channel! Our videos are simple/basic - just shows the builds being fired-up after they are completed and handed over to our customers!
Thank you for checking her out and leaving us some feedback, Ray! The header pipe is the stock set-up with after-market mufflers we sourced locally. Unfortunately, we can no longer find these mufflers - they had a deep/throaty sound on anything we put them on. We typically had to fabricate transition pieces to be able to attach these mufflers to the factory header pipes due to the large diameter of these after-market mufflers. There are similar mufflers on eBay but these exact ones seem to have disappeared!
I own an 86 Fazer and must say that the build on this black ops bike is outstanding! There are many things here that I might try on my own bike. I do have to ask about the exhaust. Those look like slip ons but not sure. Where can I get a pair on those cans or are they custom made?
Hey Wayne, send us an email through our webpage and we can send you the link for these cans ... can't do that on TH-cam! Thanks for the kudos too - sincerely appreciated man!!!
Love this bike. I have an 82 seca 750. Much different than this but I love that seat and rear fender. Where can I get something like that? Is that stock? The ones on mine are bulky and ugly. I'm looking to modify. This would be perfect
Thank you for the note and the feedback! You can find these cans on ebay ... they have some baffling but a straight flow so they are loud and deep. We masked and painted these with two part urethane satin black heat paint. If you do a search on ebay for "Motorcycle Short Exhaust Silencer Muffler 60mm Pipe Honda Yamaha Suzuki Kawasaki", it will pop up. Good luck!
Thank you for the comments! Send us an email through our website and I'll provide the details on the exhaust and where you can source the cans! Thanks! joseph@barebonerides.com
Thank you for checking out this build and your positive feedback! We also received the email you sent via our website. We promise to respond to you shortly with some feedback/suggestions regarding your FZX Exhaust System! BBR
I'm looking at this same model right now they want 500 bucks but it's a project bike. I'm wondering if I should grab it, this is the exact look I want can I ask what the final cost on this build is?
Hey Kevin, sorry for the late reply on your comment. Did you pick-up that Fazer for $500? If you want some details, send us an email at joseph@barebonerides.com
@@kevinsansalone6305 Sorry to hear Kevin - no worries though, there are more out there and if it is meant to be, another Fazer (perhaps a really nice one) will cross paths with you!!!
Thank you for checking her out and leaving us some positive feedback - she did turn out really nice, a little loud but our customer absolutely loved how she turned out and how she sounded!!!
You can contact us directly at joseph@barebonerides.com - we can discuss the possibility of having our shop transform your Fazer in to something like the one you see here. This was completed for a customer several years ago - he loved our she turned out!
Looks blk ops but way too loud. I was hoping it be quieter like back in 1986. I own a blk faz. Now just got it off eBay. And I had a red one 23 years ago. I've got to find a cheap way to quiet this bike down. Fazers were smooth sounding back in the day. Any suggests?
+Cheryl Jenkins ... Yeah, our customer wanted a custom exhaust that could be heard in traffic for safety. If you send us some photos of your exhaust set-up, we'll make a few recommendations. You can always try to source the stock exhaust ... send us an email at joseph(at)barebonerides(dot)com.
barebonerides thank you i just got it. haven't really had time to even ride polish or anything yet. I'm building a tiny garage for him, by myself. But I will, take the pic ASAP. And again Thank You BareBone

We don't know the dimensions of the rear shock tube that we covered with the gators (we used half of a pair of gators we had at the shop). The front dimensions were the following: tube was 38mm, top of shock was 58mm, total unsprung length was approx. 7 inches. Hope this helps man!
Thanks for the note Sir ... I am afraid our customer sold this machine to a dude in Vegas. You can always travel out to The Strip and maybe keep an eye out for her ... or an ear (she was very loud!). BBR
