Watch a full tutorial as a 2003 Toyota Sequoia (NON JBL) will have a Kenwood radio installed in the factory location. This install adds bluetooth, AUX, USB, in addition to an enhanced sound quality over the factory system.
This video applies to Toyota Sequoia models for years 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. This video also includes dash trim and stereo removal, radio wiring, and installation.

What harness would you get if you have both JBL system and steering wheel controls in order to keep the steering wheel controls?
If you have the jbl model where to you connect the ground for the amp on the metra harness? Do I connect it to the other two grounds?

Quick question about the antenna. With the factory stereo, the antenna would raise when turned on. Apparently, my new stereo doesn’t power down for 5 minutes after sitting it off so the antenna stays up. The only way to get it to retract is to shut off the car. Is there a way to bypass this so I can force the antenna to retract without shutting the car off?
Would this be a similar process going from a Sony XAV-AX100 to a Boss BECPA9W unit? Main questions are - 1) will I need to buy any additional harnesses and 2) should I be prepared with wire crimpers before starting the install? Thanks! (01 Sequoia LTD with JBL)
I have this same radio on my 2005 Tundra. The radio gets very loud and very quiet. I also noticed the low beams stopped working. What would you suggest?

Is double din a universal word. for example, i have a 2005 Toyota tundra and i want to put in a kenwood DDX6740s Double din radio in my truck, do you have any idea if it would fit and if it does what mount or brackets would i need to use in order to do so! thanks for the awesome video

If you have JBL, use the Crux SWRTY-61J. If you don't have JBL, use the Crux SWRTY-61S. We have videos on both harnesses on our channel.
I bought a 2002 Toyota Sequoia but it has no radio how do I know if it has the JBL system or not
Wouldn't the cars computer need to be reprogrammed to work with any after market electronics added? Had a buddy of mine add a back up camera to his lexus rx 350 and his car started to have electrical issues.
Depends on the year, make, and model. If the vehicle works off of a data canbus connection, as long as you use the correct parts, it still can be done. This Sequoia is all analog, so simply swapping the radio has little to no impact on the rest of the vehicle.

as long as it is a standard double din size chassis, regardless of the screen size, it will fit.
I got the 70-1761 harness but I have a jbl radio can I still install it or I have to get the other harness

What size of double din is this? I didn’t see or hear the mentioning of this size to fit snug. If you did mention it my apologies, I might’ve just not heard it….
Fits any standard double din chassis (4" tall), regardless of screen size.

Even with the right harness you will still hear engine noise as soon as you turn the radio on . My Sequoia 2002 with JBL system got the same issue. The only way around it is to remove the JBL Amp . it's not fun at all.
How do you connect a JBL one I have a pioneer double DIN touch screen DVD player they don't trying to connect what but having a little little hard time with it
If you have the factory JBL sound system, i suggest heading over to Sonic Electronix and using their vehicle fit guide. They then will be able to suggest the hanress needed for your year, make and model.
@@ProvoBeastAudio I got the harness but the Sony headunit I got doesn't have the pre output on the back of it , it only has aux1 aux 2 and sub out
Nestor Lugo I bought a Sony XAV-AX 3000 for my 2006 Toyota Sequoia w/ JBL system. I couldn’t get the Metra 70-8113 to work, the HU would turn on and function but no sound came out of the speakers. Do I need a different wiring harness? I’d prefer to use the JBL amp so I don’t have to re-wire all speakers.

uchia231 You’re going to have to buy the metra TYTO-01 interface. This harness won’t work if you have the JBL factory system, unless you can figure out a way to turn the amp in with the stereo. The TYTO-01 worked like a charm, except your new head unit needs to have line level/low level (RCA) Outputs for FL, FR, RL, RR. On the TYTO-01 harness you’ll have to splice an RCA (male end) to the positive wire and negative wire of each speaker, so you’ll need four RCA’s (the red, yellow, white from an old DVD player or gaming system will work). There are videos on here that show you how to do so properly. You won’t use the speaker level wires on your stereo harness at all, because they’ll feed WAY too much power to the amp and cause really bad distortion so tape those off to make sure they don’t short out on anything. The TYTO-01 is like $50 on amazon but best buy will price match them, that’s what I did and it worked like a dream. Good luck, let me know if this helps.

My 03 Tundra SR5 was done this way and the factory brackets have the same part number as the Sequoia. Mine came with the amp that I had to remove .

You can yes, but depends on who will do that for you. There are some retailers on amazon that can send it to you all assembled, just depends on the brand of radio you are installing. We can also do that for you and ship it back. Feel free to send us a message on Facebook.
